Entered into the Azure Dragon Clan Divine Register

Ever since then, the daughters of the major Dragon Lords took turns seeking her out for friendship. With Rina Chu, who was a total chatterbox, things were lively under the First Spirit Tree every single day.

A few days later, Madam Zane—Leon Zane’s mother—actually came in person and chatted with Grace for quite a while.

"...Leon Zane is destined to become the Azure Dragon Lord. According to our clan rules, his main wife must attain divine status. Ordinary mortals, even if they reach immortality, that's usually their limit. As for becoming a deity... I've only ever seen three! Even if she could, by then she'd be, well, haha!"

"High Deity, why are you telling me all this?" Grace asked, puzzled.

"He treated Rina Chu that way, so naturally he has to take responsibility for her," Madam Zane said. "Of course, she can't be his main wife, but she won't be slighted either—she'll be a consort."

"Ah... ahem!" Grace cleared her throat. "High Deity, Rina and I aren’t master and servant, nor are we related by blood. We’re just colleagues in the Spirit Alliance. You’ll need to talk to her about this yourself..."

"This sort of thing isn’t easy to discuss directly with a young lady," Madam Zane replied. "She’s your assistant, so you’re basically her senior. Telling you is the same as telling her!"

Senior...

Grace felt a bit awkward. "No, come on, a lifelong commitment isn’t something you can just decide so casually!"

"It’s not casual! Not at all! We’ve already entered her name into the Azure Dragon Clan Divine Register!"

Grace: "..."

...

Later, Rina Chu ran off to Leon Zane’s residence to sort things out.

Grace was sure that with Rina Chu’s combat skills, she’d clear up this misunderstanding for sure.

But when she came back, she just stared into the distance and didn’t say a word for ages.

"What happened?" Grace asked.

Rina Chu rolled her eyes at her and said, "They said I could be removed from the register, but that’s basically being exiled from my husband’s clan. According to Drake Abyss rules, I’d have to survive the Three Heavenly Thunders."

"Huh? You haven’t even become an immortal yet—forget three, even half a thunderbolt would kill you!"

Rina Chu spaced out for a moment, then suddenly jumped up and dashed into the cottage.

Grace chased after her and saw her packing her bags.

"What are you doing?" Grace asked.

"I have to go! I need to leave here right now!"

"Wait, the Celestial Empress is still sick! Let me cure her first and then we’ll leave together!"

"Together?" Rina Chu looked at her. "You’re leaving too?"

"Of course!" Grace said. "Why would I stay here? To be someone’s consort too?"

"No, now that the Crown Prince has broken off his engagement with Shang Zhi, he can marry you!"

Grace shook her head. "It’s not that simple!"

Could Evan Xiao really marry her?

To be Crown Princess of the Divine Clan, you’d at least need to attain divine status.

If she could restore her Phoenix Clan bloodline, then maybe.

But she still hasn’t recovered, has she?

Even if she did, the Phoenix Clan would still be an issue.

Anyway, this trip to Drake Abyss has really opened her eyes.

She had to go back.

...

"Fine, even if you’re leaving, I can’t wait for you! I have to go now!" Rina Chu said. "You’re basically the mascot of Drake Abyss now—no one’s going to mess with you. I’ll head back first and wait for you in the Spirit Alliance."

"Do you really have to go?"

Rina Chu nodded.

"Alright then! You head back first," Grace said. "Once I cure the Celestial Empress, I’ll return."

So, Rina Chu left that day.

She’d come to Drake Abyss, fought Leon Zane several rounds, and won every time.

But in the end, she suffered a sudden and crushing defeat.

When Leon Zane found out, he was absolutely thrilled.
