Declaration of War on the Azure Dragon Society

But right at that moment, the poison scorpion and poison centipede suddenly let out a shrill, agonized screech. Their mountain-like bodies exploded with a boom, and all the toxic miasma instantly dispersed.

The only poison toad left started sweating in terror. Even though these creatures were formless, born from phantom poison mist, they still had life and consciousness—and right now, it was obviously terrified of the yin energy on Ryan Ling’s blade.

Ryan Ling’s heart trembled. He never would have believed Yin-Maiden energy could be so effective. Back when the System first told him Angie Chen was a Yin-Maiden, he was half skeptical, but now not only were the venom beasts destroyed, something else shocked him: the sealed Hell Furnace actually cracked open a tiny gap for an instant.

Seeing all this, Ryan couldn’t help but wonder—if he really did the deed with Angie Chen, just how powerful would the result be?

If Lily Liu hadn’t interrupted today, maybe it would’ve happened!

Ryan shook his head, smirking. What was he even daydreaming about at a time like this? He locked his eyes on the poison toad.

The poison toad backed away step by step, already panicking and desperate to escape. But with those stubby arms and legs, it wasn’t getting anywhere fast.

"Die!" Ryan didn’t hesitate. His saber crashed down, and the poison toad let out a final screech as its huge body exploded.

With the three venom beasts wiped out, Ryan stared straight at the three deputy Hall Masters. Those guys were never that strong—they were just relying on the poison beasts. Now that their monsters had been obliterated, only one thought was left in their heads: run.

"After killing so many innocents, you still want to run?" Ryan didn’t even think twice—his saber flashed out, blocking their escape.

"You—you dare kill us? We’re deputy Hall Masters of the Azure Dragon Society! If you kill us, the Society will never let you go!" The lead deputy Hall Master yelled, still acting all arrogant even with no way forward or back.

As soon as he finished, he whipped out a Dragon Flag—a five-clawed azure dragon blazing on the fabric, radiating pure authority.

"This is the Azure Dragon Society’s Dragon Flag. The flag means ultimate authority. Kill a few nobodies and it’s no big deal, but if you touch us, you’ll be openly defying the whole Society—basically declaring war. Kid, you’d better think twice!" The lead deputy Hall Master’s words made Ryan Ling pause; honestly, he hadn’t really prepared for this level of escalation.

The other two deputy Hall Masters immediately saw Ryan’s hesitation and jumped in.

"Kid, you might be strong, but going to war with the Azure Dragon Society? No one in Jiangdong Province’s ever dared that!

"That’s right. Let us go now, turn back before it’s too late, and accept punishment at the Society’s main altar. If you do, your crime will be lighter. Otherwise, when our army rolls in, you and all your buddies will be wiped out—no survivors!"

......

"Ryan, they’ve got the Dragon Flag. This is serious—don’t be reckless!" Angie Chen clutched her chest as she walked out of Su’s Pharmacy, clearly showing respect for the flag’s authority.

"See? Even Miss Chen knows what’s up. Let us go, or you’ll regret it!" The lead deputy Hall Master snorted, feeling smug. The other two grinned at each other—holding the Dragon Flag, they thought nothing could touch them.

Right then, Ryan clenched his fists, staring at the bodies of innocent Harbor City citizens below. There was no way he’d let these bastards go. But just like Angie Chen said, once the Dragon Flag came out, things got way more complicated than he’d imagined.

But just then, Sophie Su, Samuel Su all wrapped in bandages, Leonard Liu—the president of the Harbor City Martial Arts Association—and a bunch of local gentry showed up, faces full of anger. Even the usually timid Sophie was radiating killing intent.

The sudden arrival made the three deputy Hall Masters uneasy. The lead one gripped the Dragon Flag tighter, but his arrogance didn’t fade one bit.

"Ryan, you absolutely can’t let these scumbags go!" Samuel Su suddenly shouted.

"You old fool, you want to rebel—declare war on the Azure Dragon Society in public?" the lead deputy Hall Master snarled.

No one answered; they all stepped forward. Sophie shouted, "Ryan, the Pill Hall brought those two Su family traitors here—not just to steal our business, but to turn Harbor City into a giant poison-man testing base. They want to use the citizens as lab rats and destroy the whole city! Pill Hall’s Hall Master Vincent Wang and these three deputy Hall Masters are the masterminds. If we hadn’t caught Victor Su today, nobody would’ve guessed just how evil and inhuman Pill Hall really is!"

"Exactly! They want every Harbor City resident dead, and hundreds have already been poisoned. Even if they had an imperial edict, we can’t let them go. If they don’t pay with their lives, there’s no justice!" Leonard Liu shouted.

"Kill them!" Samuel Su yelled.

Instantly, all the Harbor City notables joined in, shouting for blood.

Harbor City has five or six hundred thousand people, but to the Azure Dragon Society, they’re just pigs—never even seen as human.

Even Angie Chen, who’d been urging Ryan to stay calm, was now glaring, murder in her eyes. The Pill Hall had officially crossed the line for all humanity.

In that instant, the three deputy Hall Masters completely lost their composure. The hand holding the Dragon Flag was shaking uncontrollably.

"Don’t come any closer! I’m holding the Dragon Flag—Azure Dragon Society’s highest authority! If you touch me, it means war with the whole Society, you—" The lead deputy Hall Master didn’t even finish before Ryan’s saber came down without hesitation.

Bang! The guy’s body was split clean in half. He tried to say something, but Ryan’s saber gave a final twitch—and his bloody head went flying.

The other two deputy Hall Masters turned green and started begging for their lives, voices trembling.

"Die!" Ryan was boiling with rage—these bastards were even worse than the Japanese invaders. At least the invaders experimented on foreigners, but these Azure Dragon Society freaks wanted to use their own people as lab rats, ready to wipe out an entire city. If you compromise with scum like this, what’s left of justice in the world?

As soon as Ryan finished, his saber flashed again—two more heads went flying. The Harbor City crowd surged forward, stomping the corpses in a frenzy, venting all their rage.

Ryan sneered and snatched up the Dragon Flag, tearing it apart on the spot. He roared, "The Azure Dragon Society wants Harbor City dead—are we just gonna sit here and take it?"

"Resist! Resist! Resist!"

The shouts thundered across the square, shaking the earth.
