Kill!
Right now, Ryan Ling’s mind is free of hesitation—there’s nothing else in his head.
Kill—kill every last Pill Hall scumbag. That’s his only thought. Since he’s already stepped up, Ryan isn’t about to compromise.
Even without today’s spark, Ryan would’ve ended up declaring war on the Azure Dragon Society sooner or later. He’s provoked their authority more than once—and he killed Logan Long, Mystery Hall’s boss. That’ll come out eventually. At least right now, he’s got plenty of justification to act.
Once Pill Hall’s plot gets exposed to the world, even if the Azure Dragon Society wants payback, they’ll have to think twice about the fallout.
Besides, he’s now officially a war hero against the Japanese. If Gabriel Xue and the others report in, the Azure Dragon Society will be even less likely to make a move. So right now, Ryan’s got several cards to play against them.
“Ryan, wait up!” Seeing Ryan leading the charge on Pill Hall’s Harbor City base, Angie Chen suddenly runs after him.
“What are you doing here? It’s way too dangerous! Go stay with my sister—don’t follow me!” Ryan shouts, flustered.
“Are you worried about me?” Angie smiles softly, her gaze at Ryan impossibly gentle.
“Just—just go back already!” Ryan is speechless. Angie Chen always finds a way to mess with him, no matter the situation.
“If you want me to leave, then give me a kiss!” Angie Chen says, deliberately leaning in.
“Are you nuts? There’s people everywhere!” Ryan nearly faints, blurting it out loud—then realizes everyone’s staring, so he quickly lowers his voice: “My lady, we’re heading into a deathmatch here. Could you please not mess around?”
“Then tell me, did you enjoy groping me on the bed just now?” Angie gets even more fired up.
“Fine, I’ll leave now. Happy?” Angie snorts and instantly switches gears.
Ryan instinctively grabs her.
Angie freezes for a second, clearly noticing Ryan’s ‘weird’ expression.
“Forget it, just come with me. It’s dangerous for you to go back now—just stick close!” Ryan’s a bit awkward, but he can’t exactly admit he wants her Yin-Maiden energy.
“Hmph, I’m not just going because you say so. I’m the Chen Family heiress, you know—unless you hold my hand!” Angie whines, clearly playing cute.
Ryan’s at the front, and luckily nobody’s nearby. He grabs Angie’s hand and says quickly, “Alright, alright, you win—I’ll hold your hand, okay?”
"Haha, now that's more like it! But holding hands isn't as good as carrying me, carrying me isn't as good as hugging me, and hugging me isn't as good as..."
"Will you ever stop?!" Ryan's face was turning every shade of blue and purple—though honestly, he was thinking the same thing. The closer he got to Angie, the more Yin-Maiden energy he could absorb. That stuff was priceless.
Not only could it break through poison, it was worth a fortune—and most importantly, it could slowly force open the Hell Furnace's seals. Ryan needed to stock up as much as possible!
...
"Master Ling, we're at the Pill Hall base!" called a Harbor City Martial Arts Association member. Ryan quickly let go of Angie. She just grinned, totally unashamed, secretly delighted.
"That was fast!" Ryan looked up—the Pill Hall base looked like a giant poisonous beehive. Its walls were covered in dense, weird spots that made his skin crawl.
From inside, voices drifted out.
"Haha, word just came in—Deputy Hall Master Xing and the others must've succeeded. That punk Ryan Ling may have had some skill, but he's probably dead from poison by now!"
"That's right—there aren't many in Jiangdong Province who could break the poison array. That kid's as good as dead. Once he's gone, Harbor City is ours! Hall Master just ordered us to grab a hundred kids from Harbor City Elementary. The poison's so vicious, even adults can't handle it. Time to see if it works better on little kids!"
“Elementary schoolers might not be enough—we should send them to grab a batch from kindergartens. The younger, the better! Once this drug works, Pill Hall is guaranteed to become Azure Dragon Society’s number-one hall!”
……
“You heartless bastards!” Ryan can’t hold back anymore—he kicks the main door open and charges straight in.
“Who is it? Who dares break into Pill Hall? Guards, guards!”
“Wait, he—he looks like that kid Ryan Ling! He’s not dead after all!”
“Could it be that Vice Hall Master Xing and the others…?”
……
Several Pill Hall disciples instantly go pale, dropping all their herbs and tools and instinctively backing away.
“Die!” Ryan’s rage is off the charts—especially after hearing these scumbags want to experiment on kindergarteners. He doesn’t hold back, going straight for the kill.
Boom, boom, boom…
Seven or eight Pill Hall disciples explode on the spot, basically reduced to bloody chunks.
Angie Chen and the other Harbor City martial artists rush in behind, taking out any Pill Hall stragglers.
“You Harbor City punks want to rebel? How dare you storm Pill Hall—round up every last one of them!” After Ryan wipes out a dozen disciples, over a hundred more pour in from all sides, armed to the teeth and looking vicious. Clearly, Pill Hall has gathered almost everyone here to build their poison-man lab in Harbor City.
“Ryan!” Angie immediately moves closer to him, obviously nervous facing so many attackers. The other Harbor City fighters are shaken too—a few sword-wielders are actually trembling.
“Useless trash!” sneers the lead Pill Hall disciple, contempt in his eyes.
“Don’t panic!” Ryan steps forward and suddenly asks, “Are all your people here?”
“Why do you care?” The lead disciple instantly senses something’s off about Ryan.
“If they’re not all here, you’d better call them out—otherwise I’ll have to hunt them down one by one later, and that’s just annoying.” Ryan says this while licking enemy blood off his fingers.
“You bastard—you’re way too cocky! Get him!” The leader’s face turns red as he waves his hand, sending the whole crowd surging at Ryan.
“Die!” Ryan doesn’t hesitate—his saber flashes, and the Demon-Slaying Sword on his back erupts with sword qi. In an instant, his blade arcs out in a sweeping strike.
With a clang, Ryan's saber whipped out—a sweep of forty or fifty enemies were sliced clean in half at the waist, dead before they could even scream. Their mouths hung open as their bodies hit the ground.
Before the saber's arc faded, countless sword qi blazed out from above like lightning—another fifty or sixty heads split open, brains and blood splattering everywhere.
In barely two seconds, ninety-nine percent of the Pill Hall disciples were dead. Only a handful of survivors remained, staring at Ryan in terror.
"Who... who are you?" the leader managed to stammer.
"A King of Hell walking out of Hell itself," Ryan replied coldly. As he spoke, he flashed forward—another five or six heads dropped, the last survivors falling.
So strong, so handsome! Angie was overflowing with love for Ryan.
"He's like a god—only an immortal could fight like that!" the other Harbor City martial artists gasped.
Just then, a thunderous boom blasted out from the center of the Pill Hall base. A pillar of crimson flame shot skyward, instantly vaporizing a five- or six-story building next door.
"It's done! My Burning Eight Desolations is finally complete! Ryan Ling, you killed so many of my Pill Hall disciples—today I'll carve you up and slaughter every Harbor City resident!" shouted Vincent Wang, the Pill Hall master.
