Aren’t You Going to Watch Your Love Rival for Him
Sean Shaw: "Are you scared?"
Adrian Drake: "Ha! How do you even write the word 'fear'? I've never seen it in my life!"
Azure Flame: "'Fear' is two characters."
Adrian looked at her: "Senior Azure Flame, how come you never laugh at your own jokes? How do you do it?"
Azure Flame: "Isn't 'fear' two characters?"
Adrian: "Yes, yes! But that's not the point, okay? The point is... Drake Abyss hasn't had a civil war in millions of years... If we start fighting, it won't be good, right?"
Sean Shaw interjected, "Who says you have to fight to seize Drake Abyss? You don't have to fight at all."
"Winning without fighting is the best strategy," Adrian gave him a thumbs-up. "But... how do we pull that off?"
Sean Shaw said, "There's only one thing you need to do."
"What is it?"
"Just keep your Divine Crimson Pill safe."
Adrian: "Huh? That's it? It's that simple?"
Sean: "You'll use it on the Celestial Empress when the time comes."
Adrian: "Pfft! Are you sure that'll work?"
Sean looked at Azure Flame: "Azure Flame, go infiltrate Soren Lann's side. That guy's got huge ambitions—he might try something during the chaos in Drake Abyss."
Azure Flame: "Aren't you just sending me to keep an eye on your love rival?"
Sean put on a serious face and looked at Baxa: "Baxa, you go to the Sigil Sect."
Baxa: "What am I supposed to do at the Sigil Sect?"
Sean: "Whatever you want. Do as you please."
Baxa: "Your Highness, I think you're better suited for the Sigil Sect. Do whatever you want! There's nothing there I actually want to do."
Sean: "I've got other business."
"What business?"
"Secluded cultivation. Young Lord Adrian told me to seize Drake Abyss, right? I have to train harder!"
Adrian: "No way! Don't dump this on me! I was just venting! I only said that because the Celestial Empress and Leo Li pissed me off!"
"It's settled," Sean said—and vanished.
The three of them were left staring at each other, speechless.
......
Southcourt Palace.
Divine Lord Tanya Quinn received a sound transmission and stepped into a hidden barrier outside the palace.
Seeing the visitor, she raised an eyebrow: "How did you manage to send a transmission through the Southcourt Palace barrier?"
The visitor bowed. "Sorry to bother you!"
"You need something from me?"
"I'd like to ask Divine Lord for a favor."
Tanya Quinn lounged midair. "Fifth Highness, aside from that time when you were little and I gave you candy and you turned your nose up at it, I don't think we have much of a relationship. And I can tell you right now, I have zero interest in getting involved with your Drake Abyss drama."
Sean pulled out a Wind-Plume Feather and handed it over. "My mother left this to me. She said if I give this to the Phoenix Lord, I can ask for one wish."
Tanya Quinn took it. "Another one from my ancestor..."
"Yes! It's Lady Ehuang's."
Tanya Quinn took a deep breath and sighed. "Fine! They say, 'A parent's debt is paid by the child.' If our ancestor owes something, it's our job to pay it back. Go ahead, what do you want?"
Sean: "I heard the Celestial Thread on the Phoenixfire Zither can retrieve past-life memories from the Oblivion River Section."
Tanya Quinn's expression shifted. "Don't tell me you want me to help Lily Bai recover her past-life memories?"
Sean nodded.
Tanya Quinn frowned. "She seems pretty happy being clueless! If she finds out about her past life, how is that going to help her? It'll just make things worse, won't it?"
Sean said, "She was framed. Back then, the Celestial Empress threatened her family to force a confession! She shouldn't have to live with that kind of stigma forever!"
"There's plenty of evidence and witnesses! Even if she was framed, what proof do you have?"
