Battle with the Water-Domain King

2/27/2026

Even though Evan Yang was tangled up in the electric net, he smirked and said, "Are you still going to keep this up?" "Impossible, I'm not giving up." The jellyfish general stubbornly kept ramping up the attack.

Just like that, even when the jellyfish was nearly exhausted, Evan Yang was still grinning and said, "So this is your strength?"

"You—I'm done playing with you." The jellyfish realized that if it didn't escape now, it might not get another chance, so it spun around and tried to flee.

But Evan Yang broke free from the electric net and grabbed it directly, saying, "Where do you think you're going?"

Not far away, some aquatic beasts who had originally planned to find Evan Yang and teach him a lesson saw even the jellyfish general get taken down. They immediately slunk away, while the jellyfish general stared at Evan and asked, "What do you want?"

"Do you have a lot of influence in this water region?" Evan Yang asked.

"A little," the jellyfish general replied worriedly.

"Then tell me—where's the spatial crack?" Evan Yang asked.

The jellyfish was startled and asked, "Why are you asking about that?"

"What do you think?" Evan Yang shot back.

"I'll tell you, but it won't do you much good. Go down about a hundred zhang, then turn right. Walk a few more zhang and you'll see an underground labyrinth. The spatial crack is inside it," the jellyfish general said.

"So that's how it is. Thanks." Evan Yang let go of the jellyfish and flashed downward.

Watching Evan leave, the jellyfish muttered, "Go ahead and get yourself killed. That place is Heavenfall Lake's forbidden zone. Just the Nine Water-Domain Kings alone are enough to make you suffer."

Evan wasn't familiar with the depths below. Right now, all he could do was get underwater as quickly as possible, figure out exactly where the spatial crack was, and then plan his exit.

Evan dove down to a depth of a hundred zhang. The pressure kept mounting, so he wrapped himself in a layer of spiritual energy, making sure the outside force wouldn't crush him.

Beneath the surface, Evan saw all sorts of strange creatures—each one sturdy, some incredibly tough. Years spent at these depths had hardened them.

So whenever Evan faced them, he resorted to extreme measures—even if he couldn't kill them, he'd freeze them in place.

Like that, Evan made his way smoothly underwater, then turned right and kept going.

He had no idea that, not far away, a pair of terrifying eyes was locked onto him.

"Boss, who is this guy? How does he have the power to freeze all our scouts?" A small aquatic creature beside those eyes asked curiously.

"I don't know who this intruder is, but anyone who dares disturb our forbidden zone is doomed to die," said the owner of those eyes.

The owner of the eyes turned out to be a middle-aged man with fish scales on his face, not fully transformed. After speaking, he told the small creature, "Gather up those scouts. Don't let them go to waste. I'll deal with him myself."

"Yes, master," replied the small creature.

After the owner left, the small creature muttered, "This kid's really unlucky, bumping into one of our Nine Water-Domain Kings, Lord Knife-Heaven King, right after arriving."

Evan Yang was making his way forward when suddenly a powerful aura struck. He couldn't see the attacker yet, but he could pinpoint the direction. As the man attacked, Evan spun around, spread his hands, and met the punch head-on.

Swish—both were knocked back, sending a powerful shockwave through the water that made the depths tremble.

Seeing his attack blocked, Lord Knife-Heaven King stepped into Evan's view and sneered, "Not bad, you've got some strength."

"And you are?" Evan Yang knew he was facing a powerhouse underwater. Just from that blow, the man had to be at least Immortal Sovereign level. But the man had the advantage—he moved freely underwater, while Evan still had to maintain his spiritual shield to resist the water pressure.

"I am Knife-Heaven King, one of the Nine Water-Domain Kings," the man said.

"Knife-Heaven King? That's a pretty unusual name," Evan Yang replied.

"My name isn't yours to comment on. Kid, you dare come to our forbidden zone? You're asking for death," Knife-Heaven King sneered.

"Forbidden zone?" Evan Yang muttered.

"Die!" Knife-Heaven King waved his hand, sending a powerful wave toward Evan. If Evan didn't dodge, it would be enough to knock him out.

Evan's first thought wasn't to dodge, but to freeze. He used ice, and the water in front of him instantly formed layer after layer of ice barriers.

As the ice formed, the sound of shattering echoed—proving the attack wasn't simple. Evan stacked dozens of layers before finally blocking it, then looked at the middle-aged man and said, "Your attack really is strong."

"I didn't expect you to have such skill, to condense so much ice so quickly. But kid, this is underwater—here, we're the kings. You're just a human, waiting to die," Knife-Heaven King sneered.

"Waiting to die? Not necessarily. You attacked first—now it's my turn." Evan Yang said, and a stream of water and ice shot toward his opponent, freezing Knife-Heaven King in place.

"Ridiculous! You think you can deal with me using such petty tricks? Dream on." Knife-Heaven King snorted, then suddenly transformed into a giant sharp-mouthed fish. Its beak was razor-sharp, and with the transformation, the ice was shattered. Like a sword, it lunged straight at Evan.

Evan was shocked and quickly summoned his Earth-Rock Aegis. But even that had limited defense—he hadn't learned the last two layers yet, so he could barely hold out. While defending, he immediately drew his Limitless Spear and pressed it against the fish's hard beak.

"Damn it, what kind of treasure is that?" Knife-Heaven King roared in fury.

"Doesn't matter what treasure it is—as long as it can take you down," Evan Yang replied.

"Dream on. My skin is tougher than you can imagine, not something your junk can pierce," Knife-Heaven King snorted.

Evan didn't care about the skin. If he couldn't pierce it, it was just a matter of force. He came up with an idea—he sent an electric current through the Limitless Spear, and the powerful surge stunned Knife-Heaven King, who quickly retreated and stared at Evan. "How is this possible?"

"Didn't you say any treasure was fine? This one has plenty of tricks," Evan Yang laughed.

"I want that treasure," Knife-Heaven King reverted to human form, gazing greedily at the Limitless Spear.

"You want it? That depends on whether you've got the strength," Evan Yang replied.

"Hmph, this is our turf—we make the rules." Knife-Heaven King snorted, then took out three rings. These were three treasures. He tossed them out.

Once thrown, the three treasures circled Evan Yang. He controlled the Limitless Spear and struck the closest one. As he attacked, the other two rushed at him. Evan swung a punch at one, and for the last, he had Cloud help block it.

Suddenly, a mass of black mist formed around Evan. The mist gathered, condensing into a cloud-like shape that blocked the ring.

With that, all three attacking rings were blocked. Knife-Heaven King said suspiciously, "I didn't expect you to have so many strange things on you. Fine, today I'll kill you and take all your treasures."

With that, the three rings circled Evan Yang faster and faster, forming a water vortex around him. The twisting force was immense—Evan had to maintain his spiritual shield and brace himself so he wouldn't be swept away.

"Ha! This is underwater—our world. Just wait for death," Knife-Heaven King taunted, certain that after a while, Evan would be seriously injured.

At this moment, Evan really had to come up with another solution—or he'd be trapped here for good.

"I have to break at least one of the rings, or this vortex will keep its power," Evan muttered to himself.

Evan tried using an ice formation, but the moment the ice appeared, it turned to powder. That showed just how powerful the vortex was.

"Looks like I'll have to force it," Evan thought. He knew there was one thing that could unleash immense power—the Divine Sheath Sword. Evan took out the Divine Sheath Sword, knowing he only had one shot. Once he used it, he'd need time to recover. If it didn't break through, he'd be finished.

So this was Evan's last attempt. He gripped the Divine Sheath Sword and said, "I'm counting on you."

"Bring it on," said the sword spirit.

Evan poured his power into the Divine Sheath Sword, and a mighty aura radiated from its blade, making Knife-Heaven King feel a trace of fear.

"Strange, what is he doing in there? Why do I feel fear?" Knife-Heaven King muttered.

Evan's control of the Divine Sheath Sword had reached its peak—all that was left was to direct it. He aimed in one direction and shouted, "Break!"

A surge of sword energy burst from the Divine Sheath Sword, splitting the vortex. The three rings spinning in the vortex were instantly knocked away. Not only that, the sword energy stirred the water, sending a powerful shockwave through everything within several meters.

Underwater rocks were smashed and tremors spread, as if an earthquake had struck below. Knife-Heaven King was caught in the shockwave and lost an arm instantly.

"Phew, done." Evan put away the Divine Sheath Sword and smiled at Knife-Heaven King, who had lost an arm. "Hello there."

"You—" Knife-Heaven King stared at Evan in shock, and saw his three treasures had been deformed, now useless. Evan's strike also sent tremors through the water, attracting many strong cultivators.

Especially the other eight kings of the underwater domains.

Knife-Heaven King realized the commotion was huge and that other strong cultivators were on their way. Now, his only option was to stall Evan Yang and keep him from leaving. Evan knew it too—if not for that last strike, he would've gone after Knife-Heaven King already. But after using the sword, he was too weak to do anything but watch.
