Jade Flute Gentleman (2)

12/2/2025

Hearing this, Damien Gray couldn't help but furrow his brows. Morgan Shangguan smiled at him, settled herself on his lap, and wrapped her arms around his neck, whispering softly, "Don't worry." Although she didn't mind their baby experiencing the outside world, she would never let the child completely dictate her life—and besides, the baby didn't have that kind of power yet!

The reason she allowed the baby to sense the outside world through her was simply because, with the child still in her belly, she could tell what they were thinking—and could promptly correct any mistaken notions.

Though she wasn't overly concerned about her methods, she would never use Damien Gray's love for her as a way to win over him. That would be meaningless and would only cheapen their relationship.

If she insisted that Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu not handle matters related to the Ghost Guild—or even demanded control over the entire Ghost Guild—Damien Gray would comply, simply because he loved her more than anything. But that wasn't what she wanted.

It was just three simple words, but Damien Gray understood the deeper meaning. He smiled and kissed her on the lips.

Maxwell Jing crossed his arms, glanced at the couple, and coughed twice. "Corrupting the child!" he declared, clearly seeking revenge. Ethan Gu shook his head, pretending not to know Maxwell. He was speechless at Maxwell's habit of always volunteering to be the butt of the joke.

Morgan Shangguan looked at Maxwell Jing with a half-smile, making his scalp tingle. She finally said, "Looks like you'll never be able to turn things around!"

Maxwell Jing twitched his mouth, grabbed Ethan Gu, and left. He sighed inwardly—what kind of child would be born with a mother like this?

Damien Gray smiled and offered Morgan Shangguan a cup of tea. She sniffed at it, turned her face away in disdain, and said, "I want something sweet!"

Susie Yun frowned. Wasn't this change a bit sudden? Just a few days ago, she only liked sour things! Since she got pregnant, she's always preferred sour flavors—this was the first time it had changed.

Damien Gray ordered someone to prepare sweet treats. Morgan Shangguan spoke up, "Susie Yun, you should really get some proper rest. If anything happens to you, I can't take responsibility!"

Susie Yun frowned, "Miss, I was only making tea! If you won't even let me do that, I'll have to be bedridden all the time, and I don't want that! Besides, you're pregnant too, yet you still go out!" She glanced at Ryan Ouyang, looking rather aggrieved.

Morgan Shangguan sighed. She wasn't all that free herself.

With the Martial Arts Summit approaching, Morgan Shangguan kept pondering how to persuade Damien Gray to let her go out.

At that moment, Morgan Shangguan was sitting on Damien Gray's lap, eating grapes and watching Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu's performance. She spat out a grape seed and frowned, "I know you two are close, but right now you're supposed to be fighting. Could you not make it look so affectionate? What if the child learns the wrong thing?"

Maxwell Jing stopped, exhausted. "Princess Consort, this shouldn't corrupt the child, right?"

Morgan Shangguan raised an eyebrow, "Why not? Think about it—you're fighting so affectionately. If the baby thinks that's how fights should be, what happens when they meet a real enemy?"

Maxwell Jing's mouth twitched, and even Ethan Gu was speechless. Serving her was truly difficult!

Four pairs of eyes turned to Damien Gray. He glanced at them coolly, making it clear he couldn't help, and continued peeling his grapes.

A cold wind swept through. Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu exchanged a look and breathed a sigh of relief; clearly, something was up, and hopefully they wouldn't be tormented any further!

After hearing the Little Reaper's report, Morgan Shangguan frowned. "Damien, I need to make a trip to the Cloud Guild!"

"I'll go with you..."

Morgan Shangguan knew he was worried and nodded in agreement.

Maxwell Jing and Ethan Gu were finally freed. Suddenly, Maxwell felt a chill on his back and tried to leave, but Ethan pulled him back and kissed him.

After a while, Maxwell Jing lay limp in Ethan Gu's arms, gritting his teeth. "Ethan Gu, what did you make me eat this time?"

Ethan Gu curled his lips, his fingers teasing Maxwell's neck. He said playfully, "Isn't it just what you wanted to give me?"

"What?" The heat rising in Maxwell Jing's body made him want to cry. He should have known Ethan Gu always gets his revenge. After pulling a stunt, he hadn't stayed alert—this time, he was doomed!

Suddenly, Maxwell's ear grew warm as Ethan Gu's deep voice whispered, "What are you thinking about?"

Maxwell Jing snorted, "Thinking about how to get back at you!"

"Is that so?" Ethan Gu nodded, raised his brows, and said, "Then I'll be careful! Anyway, after you get your revenge, I'll get mine too. Why not take this chance to settle all our scores at once—saves us the trouble!" With that, he dragged Maxwell away.

Maxwell Jing looked east and west—why was no one coming to rescue him? Was his luck really that bad?

Morgan Shangguan pushed open the door and saw Marjorie Wan lying on the bed like a lifeless puppet. Muriel Murong sat at her side, face full of worry, not knowing what to do.

"What happened?"

"Guildmaster, you're finally here! Sister Marjorie doesn't seem right. I asked her, but she won't speak. I'm really worried!"

Seeing the person behind Morgan Shangguan, Muriel Murong just nodded. To avoid trouble, Damien Gray wore a mask—though it was quite ordinary. Morgan was pleased with Muriel's attention to detail.

Morgan Shangguan sighed inwardly and waved her hand. "You go out first."

Muriel Murong nodded, glanced at Marjorie Wan, and then left. Damien Gray pulled Morgan Shangguan in for a kiss and left on his own. Morgan smiled, watched him go, then turned to Marjorie Wan.

Outside the door, Noah Duanmu grabbed Muriel Murong and asked, "How is it?"

Muriel Murong waved her hand, "It's fine. With the Guildmaster here, nothing will go wrong!"

Noah Duanmu curled his lip and muttered softly, "What's so special about that?"

Damien Gray glanced at him. Noah Duanmu frowned and squinted at Damien, a thoughtful look in his eyes.

Though he spoke quietly, Muriel Murong still heard. She grabbed his ear and huffed, "How dare you disrespect the Guildmaster! If you keep it up, I'll kick you out of the Cloud Guild and let you fend for yourself!"
