Getting Dressed

12/2/2025

Lily Evans couldn't dress herself, so she had no choice but to let Lucky help her.

But last night, under the dim yellow lamp, things weren’t very clear. Now, in broad daylight, with the sun shining brightly and everything in plain view, Lily felt so embarrassed she could die.

Lucky, on the other hand, was as curious and innocent as ever, asking endless questions: "Wife, why do you always hide two buns on your body?"

"Why is this part of you different from mine?"

...

Lily’s face was so red it looked like it might bleed. She thought, why are there so many questions? Are you a walking encyclopedia?!

But when it came to her silly husband, she was always endlessly patient. Lucky was always like this—whenever he didn’t understand something, he’d ask her.

Now Lily figured, Lucky really didn’t know—he just didn’t understand the differences between men and women, and wasn’t teasing her on purpose.

So Lily braced herself and explained to Lucky, "They’re not buns, they’re... things for feeding babies later. I’m a woman, you’re a man—of course we’re different."

As Lucky tied the strings on Lily’s clothes, he asked in his adorably clueless way, "Oh, so they’re for feeding babies! Then, when there’s no baby, can I eat from them too?"

Lily’s face burned even hotter.

Lucky tilted his head and added, "It’s so tasty—no wonder babies like it! Lucky likes it too!"

Enough already! Lily covered her face and gave Lucky a playful thump on the forehead, pretending to be fierce: "Why do you ask so many questions? Hurry up and dress me, I’m starving!"

"Okay!" Lucky covered his forehead, looking all pitiful, but quickly got Lily dressed and even helped her put her hair in a simple bun. He called Belle to bring hot water, and personally helped Lily wash up.

Watching Lucky care for her so sweetly, Lily’s heart melted. She cupped his cheeks and said, "Good Lucky, it was my fault just now—I shouldn’t have been mean to you."

Lucky blinked his eyes, looking so aggrieved it seemed like he might cry: "Waaah… Wife was so mean to me just now, so mean! My heart hurts."

Lucky pointed at his chest.

Lily quickly reached out and rubbed it, soothing him like a child: "There, there, don’t be sad. I’ll rub it for you."

"You have to make it up to me," Lucky said, blinking with a face full of childish mischief.

Looking at Lucky’s innocent face, Lily couldn’t help but think how different he was now from his domineering self last night.

But then Lily thought, Lucky is supposed to be this simple and innocent. Last night... it must’ve been his instincts as a man that made him so domineering.

After all, it’s animal instinct. Lucky might be naive, but he’s still a man.

Thinking this way, Lily quickly found a reasonable explanation for Lucky’s unusual behavior last night.

"So how should I make it up to you?" Lily pinched Lucky’s cheeks.

"Can you, tonight, be like you were last night..." Lucky blushed, drawing circles with his fingers, his face full of hope.

Lily was speechless for a moment. Here we go again—her silly husband must’ve really gotten a taste for it!

But then she remembered what Cynthia Wu had said: it’s normal for a grown man like Lucky to be pent up for so long and get hooked after one time.

Lily had always come up with excuses to put Lucky off, and she’d felt guilty about it. Now that Lucky was asking, if she kept refusing, she’d only hurt his feelings.

Besides, this is a wife’s duty—and she’d already given her heart to Lucky. She wanted to be a real wife to him.

So, if her hands and mouth got sore or swollen, so be it!
