A trace of purple blood oozed from the corner of Lord Wraith's mouth. With a splutter, Lord Wraith let out a furious scream. In an instant, the purple light around him surged violently, and the purple skulls behind him whimpered as they flew straight toward me.
With a whoosh, I drew my black longsword and retracted it into the Shadow Veil, swiftly drifting backward.
Lord Wraith opened his mouth wide and roared. His twelve Blue Wraiths floated up, preparing to surround and attack me.
"Stop! I must crush this brat with my own hands!" Lord Wraith roared, turning into a streak of purple light as he drifted over.
"Brother, hang in there!" Snowy's voice echoed in my mind. I grunted in response and nodded slightly.
The moment I regained consciousness, I realized Snowy had been inside me all along, never leaving. My mind was filled with a grayish-white world, and I could clearly see Lord Wraith's movements.
The purple skulls in the air before me crisscrossed, constantly shifting their trajectories as they attacked. Suddenly, I raised my white longsword horizontally above my head to block them.
Lord Wraith's massive purple scythe crashed down with a thunderous boom, while the purple skulls struck at me one after another.
With my left hand, I raised the black longsword from within the Shadow Veil and, shouting loudly, swung several times at the incoming purple skulls. Each one shattered under my strikes, dissolving into purple mist and dispersing.
A creaking sound echoed as purple, withered branches grew out from Lord Wraith's body. In an instant, they snaked along my arm, wrapping me up completely.
Heh, Ethan Zhang, I don't know where you got this power, but it is useless before me.
After retracting the Nightfall Sword, my body was completely wrapped by the purple withered branches. Lord Wraith raised his massive Wraith Scythe again, its blade gleaming with eerie, violet light, and swung it down at me.
The purple branches immobilized me completely, leaving me unable to move. A crushing sense of oppression bore down from above.
"Ethan..." Rufina Howard's clear voice called from behind me.
"Don't come any closer, kid!"
I shouted immediately, and two pale blue Azure Talismans drifted over. Then, a high-pitched cry echoed from afar.
"Opposing forces, complementary forces, guiding the path, the Eight Trigrams, Infinite Bagua, Mystic Bagua Array..."
A dazzling yellow light shot over from afar—it was Miles Mao, wielding the Seven-Star Sword made of copper coins, standing atop a giant Spirit Charm, his whole body glowing with golden light.
A massive Bagua appeared above me. Lord Wraith's giant Wraith Scythe crashed down onto it with a boom; the force was so great that the entire Mystic Bagua Array fractured.
With a thunderous roar, the purple branches binding me were sliced apart by a gust of long blue Azure Talismans. I turned quickly, embraced Rufina Howard, and retreated at once.
With a bang, a huge bottomless pit opened up in the ground. Lord Wraith laughed wildly in midair, brandishing his Wraith Scythe at the incoming Miles Mao.
Just as I caught my breath, I threw Rufina Howard down to the ground. Two strips of Spirit Shroud soared up, wrapping around Rufina Howard.
"Ethan Zhang..."
Lord Wraith roared, brandishing his giant Wraith Scythe. I swung my twin swords—Nightfall Sword and Pale Dawn Sword—at Lord Wraith. With a boom, his grip loosened slightly due to the overwhelming force.
Blood boiled and burned within me, a rush of exhilaration flooding every corner of my body.
I shouted in fury, raising both swords again and slashing at Lord Wraith. White and black light flared, and Lord Wraith tumbled down into the pit below.
"Don't come over, Miles Mao! Try to protect them!"
I shouted loudly. Miles Mao seemed to be in a state of Divine Channeling, possessed by a spirit. He spun sharply, bypassed me, and flew toward the people on the ground.
The surrounding ghosts had begun to grow restless, lunging toward the crowd.
Clusters of Skullfire—purple skulls—had somehow appeared all around me. As I turned my head, each whimpering skull opened its mouth wide.
In an instant, I spun through the air. Beams of violet light shot out from the mouths of Skullfire, crackling all around me. But in my mind, I visualized the trajectory and reacted, weaving through the violet beams, dodging every attack.
Lord Wraith's Wraith Scythe came at me head-on. I gripped my twin swords in reverse, and with a crash, Lord Wraith struck me, sending me hurtling toward the steps.
With a heavy thud, I hit the ground. The Ghost Brides had all surged into the Rakshasa Hall. I landed beside Mia Lin, staring at her in shock—she seemed not to be completely consumed, but had regained consciousness.
"Ethan Zhang, find a way—find a way to drag David Du out! I'm begging you..."
As soon as she finished speaking, the black curtain on the left side swayed. I rose into the air, and Lord Wraith appeared before me, both hands swinging his massive Wraith Scythe, hacking at me with murderous intent.
The scythe's attack angles were vicious—each strike aimed at my head and chest, intent on killing me outright.
I blocked Lord Wraith's relentless attacks in midair with the Pale Dawn Sword, never drawing the Nightfall Sword. Lord Wraith kept his distance, wary of the black sword in my left hand.
Now, though Lord Wraith's movements were swift, they weren't as fast as before. Instead, his strikes grew heavier, searching for any opening in my defense.

Understanding Lord Wraith's intent, I suddenly thrust out my pitch-black left hand and pulled the black curtain. In an instant, the curtain enveloped me completely.
It was as if someone in my mind was telling me exactly what to do.
With a thought, I pulled the black curtain open again and appeared behind Lord Wraith. His Wraith Scythe had already sliced through the drifting black curtain; with a swish, it vanished into billowing black smoke.
"You actually..." As Lord Wraith turned his head, I reversed my grip on the Pale Dawn Sword and drove it mercilessly into his shoulder blade.
Lord Wraith screamed in fury, releasing his grip on the Wraith Scythe with his right hand. The scythe tumbled down below.
"Ethan Zhang..."
Lord Wraith glared at me viciously—I couldn't give him any chance to strike back.
Immediately, my Nightfall Sword thrust out from the curtain, stabbing toward Lord Wraith's chest. He reached out with his left hand and grabbed the black sword tightly.
"Ha..."
I shouted, pulling out the Pale Dawn Sword. A sizzling sound echoed as violet blood spurted from Lord Wraith's shoulder blade.
I raised the Pale Dawn Sword, and in an instant, yanked the Nightfall Sword back—swish! I severed half of Lord Wraith's hand.
"Ah..."
I roared, crossing the Nightfall Sword and Pale Dawn Sword, slashing at Lord Wraith. With a cry, Lord Wraith's body arched backward, sent flying.
The black curtain whipped about wildly, mirroring my fury. In an instant, I flew toward Lord Wraith, who was still airborne.
Suddenly, a streak of green light—one of Lord Wraith's Blue Wraiths—appeared, wielding a massive hammer and blocking my path, ready to strike.
"Get out of my way." I glared at the Blue Wraith. He hesitated for a moment, then suddenly, a giant black claw seized him and yanked him aside.
"No one is allowed to interfere in Ethan Zhang's battle."
It was Ironmask. I hadn't noticed when he appeared beside me, his massive black wings beating. Deathbane aura formed a black claw from his chest, and as he dragged the Blue Wraith aside, he smashed him with a single punch.
I nodded knowingly at Ironmask, then accelerated, flying toward Lord Wraith, who was still reeling backward. I raised both swords and hacked down at him.
With a resounding crash, my twin swords struck something as hard as stone.
Lord Wraith flashed a faint smile. Suddenly, he halted his descent in midair. I noticed something, and instantly withdrew both swords—then swung the Pale Dawn Sword at his head.
With a metallic clang, my Pale Dawn Sword struck Lord Wraith's brow—but he kept smiling.
"Ethan Zhang, you still don't get it, do you? With your current strength, you think you can defeat me..."
The Nightfall Sword stabbed into the cracked skin of Lord Wraith with a sizzle, sinking deep.
Lord Wraith screamed, and I gripped the Nightfall Sword tightly, driving it upward with force.
With a slash, I carved a deep gash in Lord Wraith's chest—inside was nothing but sticky, violet, mud-like substance.
"Looks like you're not so stable after all, Lord Wraith. You can't fully consume Mia Lin, can you?"
No sooner had I finished speaking than Lord Wraith's eyes filled with terror. I raised both swords, aiming at the split in his chest, and struck with furious blows.
I couldn't give him any chance to fight back—I had to finish him, kill him.
Murderous intent filled my heart as I twisted the twin swords inside Lord Wraith's body. Then, with a sizzle, I crossed the blades and pierced through him, roaring as I drove him straight down toward the ground.
"Die, Lord Wraith!"
