Lord Wraith 12

12/7/2025

My Duskmourn Twinblades crossed and stabbed into Lord Wraith, falling together with him. With a scream, Lord Wraith struggled in midair, and a violet light enveloped both of us.

Suddenly, Lord Wraith stopped in midair, and I halted as well. Two withered, branch-like hands gripped my Duskmourn Twinblades.

"Trying to kill me, Ethan Zhang? Heh, after hundreds of years, you're the first of your kind I've met. But no one can kill me—I've already become a Ghost Sovereign..."

"Hahaha..."

I burst out laughing loudly.

"You?"

I glared fiercely at Lord Wraith, my hands creaking, a burning sensation surging through my entire body.

The black curtain fluttered endlessly. Suddenly, I sensed something and roared. On the crossed Duskmourn Twinblades, streams of black and white energy intertwined.

"Left hand for ghosts, right hand for humans—man and ghost become one..."

With a swift motion, Lord Wraith's hands that gripped my Duskmourn Twinblades turned to ash. I cried out, crossing my blades—Lord Wraith's hands were severed with a slash. With a thud, my knees hit his wounded body as we crashed to the ground together.

The ground split open, leaving a vast chasm in front of the Wraith Palace. The area was in utter chaos—purple blood spattered everywhere.

Then I leapt up, raising both swords, and drove them fiercely into Lord Wraith's neck. He froze, staring blankly at me.

"Sir, sir, please wake up! It's me, Mia Lin. Back then, it was my fault—I left without saying goodbye. Sir..."

Lord Wraith turned his head, gazing at Mia Lin on the sunken ground, a trace of sorrow flickering in his eyes.

"Ah... I'm Du Zesheng, and you're Mia Lin. We overcame so many obstacles to be together—how ridiculous, how laughable... Hahaha..."

As Lord Wraith's wild laughter echoed, streams of purple blood spurted incessantly from his mouth.

I stared at him in shock, my body trembling as I twisted the Duskmourn Twinblades still embedded in his neck.

"How boring! Love, hate, grudges—it's all so tedious, Ethan Zhang. I am Lord Wraith, a Ghost Sovereign!"

With a bang, I was knocked away. Lord Wraith's entire body flared with purple light. As I flew through the air, I saw him appear before me—a massive fist slammed into my cheek.

Just as I was sent flying backward, I felt Lord Wraith grab my hand.

I raised the Duskmourn Twinblades high and stabbed down at the spot where Lord Wraith gripped my right hand.

With a scream, Lord Wraith let go. I roared, and as the black curtain dropped, I ducked low—there was a thunderous rush of air just above my head.

"So what if I'm weak? Because I'm human—even if I'm weak, today, here, I'll finish you, Lord Wraith!"

The twin blades stabbed forward. Suddenly, purple flames erupted before me, and skulls inside them bit into my swords. The fire stripped the skin from my body, bit by bit.

My body was numb. With all my strength, I drove the twin blades—one high, one low—into Lord Wraith's chest.

"Why, Ethan Zhang? You should have died long ago. Why—"

I roared, slashing upward with the white blade and downward with the black blade, tearing two deep wounds into Lord Wraith's body.

"Now!"

The black curtain surged violently, wrapping Lord Wraith completely. I shouted, my whole body turning into a black-and-white shadow, wielding the Duskmourn Twinblades as I slashed and stabbed at Lord Wraith again and again, pressing him down completely.

"Don't get cocky, Ethan Zhang," Lord Wraith snarled. Suddenly, with a crack, the space around us began to split apart.

"Rakshasa—Twin Trees—Rakshasa Ghost Domain—open!"

Suddenly, behind Lord Wraith, a rift in space appeared. Inside, the shadow of the Rakshasa Tree was clearly visible.

"You have no chance, Ethan Zhang. Let me show you how a Blue Wraith truly fights."

Suddenly, I felt something grip my neck. The space around me split completely, and vine-like hands reached out, grabbing hold of me with immense force.

I couldn't make a sound. Purple and green Rakshasa Fruits flew out from the ghost domain, entering Lord Wraith's body. His battered form instantly regained vitality.

"You have no chance! Ahahaha, Ethan Zhang..."

With a heavy blow to my abdomen, a purple light sent me flying backward. In that instant, a strange terror welled up inside me.

I can't kill him. That's the only thing I'm sure of right now.

With a thud, I hit the ground and slid backward, struggling to stop.

The moment Lord Wraith opened his ghost domain, I felt an immense, chilling ghostly power sweeping through all of Wraithhold.

Finally steadying myself, I collapsed onto the ground. My arms and legs were limp, unable to move—I could only sit there, slumped and powerless.

"Ethan..." Rachel Lan, her face streaked with blood, rushed over and helped me up. I looked around—ghosts kept coming, attacking us from all sides. Everyone was fighting desperately.

Miles Mao roared, his body riddled with wounds, yet his steel-like frame still blocked the way. Ghost soldiers and generals charged at him again and again.

Suddenly, I felt something—my cousin's cold hand. I turned my head and looked at him.

"Don't push yourself anymore, Ethan. We need to retreat—now!"

Rachel Lan had barely finished speaking when Lord Wraith appeared above us, holding the Giant Curtain.

"No one escapes. Everyone dies."

I shouted and leapt up again, raising my Duskmourn Twinblades, thrusting them toward Lord Wraith.

"It's useless, Ethan Zhang. Now, I am already—" Suddenly, Lord Wraith's expression twisted in pain. He clutched his chest, and the purple aura around him began to fade.

"My heart... My heart... Ah—!"

Hahaha, serves you right, you freak! Now you know pain. I may not be powerful, but the monk and I have investigated a lot. Your heart is in the Wailing Maiden's Den. The monk is destroying it right now.

Miles Mao burst into laughter. My Duskmourn Twinblades stabbed into Lord Wraith without mercy, with a ripping sound, piercing his body, which had turned into black bark.

"Lord Wraith, it's over. Everything is..."

Lord Wraith's body glowed green, and a chorus of wails rose up. The purple skulls behind him flew off into the distance, transforming into female ghosts. Freed at last, they streamed out of Lord Wraith's body.

"Not yet... Not yet finished... Ah—!"

The ghost servant called Mu Lao rushed over quickly.

"Master, you mustn't! If you unleash your ghost domain, Wraithhold will be destroyed! Let us—"

"No matter. If Wraithhold is destroyed, we can always rebuild."

As he spoke, a massive white sword light flashed behind Lord Wraith. Mu Lao was instantly split in two, and the sword light seemed to cleave Wraithhold itself, cracking the ground with a bottomless chasm.

"Oh, Lord Wraith, how did you end up so pathetic?"

"Ye Guyun, you—"

Dressed in flowing white, Ye Guyun hovered in the southern sky, holding a green sword. Suddenly, shouts and cries erupted from the south. I stared in surprise as dozens of green lights sped toward us.

"None of you are getting away—ah!"

With a thunderous crash, Lord Wraith turned into a pool of black liquid, splattering before me.

"Your last rampage before death? How pathetic, Lord Wraith. Your territory—I'll take it over today. Hahaha..."
