After the Wedding You’re Not Allowed to Leave My Side

Sean Shaw raised his eyebrows. "Your father and mother actually went ahead and made arrangements?"

"Yep!"

"When is it?"

"Just five days from now!" Lily Bai glared at him. "It's all your fault! You went and told my mother I was pregnant! She freaked out!"

Sean Shaw grinned so wide his dimples showed. "So you agreed?"

"What else could I do? I told her we'd keep it simple—just family, nothing fancy. That way word won't get out to the Divine Realm and drag the White Clan into trouble!"

Sean Shaw paused for a moment. "That works. But besides your family, we'll bring your master and Nine Li, and I'll bring Baxa and Azure Flame from my side."

Lily Bai nodded.

Sean Shaw suddenly pulled her over, planted a kiss on her, and declared, "Once we're married, you're not allowed to leave my side. Not even for a step."

Lily Bai protested, "What is with you?!"

"Not allowed."

......

The whole group returned to the Eastern Luo Empire.

Clarissa Summers saw Azure Flame and Baxa and asked who they were. Sean Shaw replied they were his 'little sister' and 'big brother.'

"No elders from your side came?" For a wedding this important, how could there be no elders present?

Sean Shaw shook his head. "Elders... they're all gone."

"Oh..." Well, surely there'd be a Bride Price, right?

Clarissa waited a while longer. The three from Sean's side looked quite impressive standing together, but none of them made any move to offer Bride Price.

She sighed softly and let them be.

When Lily Bai found her, Clarissa was sitting alone, wiping away tears.

"Mother Empress! Why are you here crying all by yourself?" Lily Bai asked in surprise.

Clarissa Summers shook her head and said nothing.

"Is it because you can't bear to see your daughter get married?" Lily Bai hugged her from behind.

"Little Fish! You're the only princess of the Eastern Luo Empire! You're the flesh of my heart!" Clarissa Summers sobbed. "But now you're getting married, and it's all so rushed! And..."

"And what?"

"Little Five didn't even give a Bride Price." Clarissa shook her head. "Just thinking about it makes my heart ache."

Bride Price... Lily Bai said, "There wasn't enough time for him to prepare! Please don't blame him, Mother Empress..."

"I'm not blaming him," Clarissa said. "He's a Spirit Beast, probably doesn't understand these customs! And with no elders in his family... I just can't help feeling a little sad."

Lily Bai nodded. "I understand, Mother Empress... I'm sorry!"

Seeing Lily Bai's guilty look, Clarissa took a deep breath, forced herself to perk up, and gave a brave smile. "Alright! It's fine! I trust my Little Fish's judgment! If you love him, he must be a good man. As long as he treats you well, that's better than anything else!"

Lily Bai nodded.

True to her word, Clarissa Summers kept everything extremely simple.

The palace was only lightly decorated, and she invited only close relatives from the White Clan and Summers clan.

Lily Bai personally checked and made sure none of the guests knew Sean Shaw's true identity.

Marcus White invited Lord Faustin, Immortal Warden of the Sigil Sect, to act as Wedding Witness and gave the couple a small but warm ceremony.

Everything went smoothly—they bowed to heaven and earth and then retired to their bridal suite.

Marcus White and his wife stayed outside to entertain the guests.

During the banquet, everyone kept staring at Azure Flame and Baxa.

Seeing how striking the two looked, people were polite at first.

Later, Clarissa's cousin Jillian Summers—the Empress of the Vermilion Kingdom—asked where the two were from and what their status was.

Azure Flame didn't answer.

She doesn't really like talking to unrelated strangers.
