Come Softly, Go Softly (Part One)

1/11/2026

Silence!

Inside the Treasure Hall, all is utterly silent.

When the white-robed youth Howard Gu descended here, the very air and matter seemed to tighten, unmoving, submitting to his inexplicable majesty... The silver carpet spread across the hall was soaked in pink blood, and the white-robed youth stood like a cosmic deity above a mountain of corpses and sea of blood.

Every movement he made seemed to change the very color of the heavens.

A single glance from him could almost erase a Stellar Palace-tier lifeform.

"Your Highness Howard."

"I did not know Your Highness would grace the Chenriver Realm with your presence. I, Cole King, failed to welcome you properly. Please forgive me."

Cole King turned around, bowing in terror, already scared out of his wits.

Cole King could never have imagined that His Highness Howard would personally descend upon the Chenriver Empire, taking this matter so seriously that he would not allow the slightest mistake.

Who exactly is His Highness Howard?

The Chenriver Empire did not know, but how could Cole King not know!

His Highness Howard comes from one of the highest Human Supreme Halls, appointed as the special inspector of the Cosmic Ancient Kingdom, holding supreme authority and possessing overwhelming combat strength!

He stands at the Cosmos Union Tier, a being above the Void Rift Tier.

As a five-turn peak Void Rift-tier Howard Gu, he can suppress most Cosmos Union Tier experts!

At that moment, Emperor Zhen Gu and Andrew Han both heard Cole King's trembling voice and saw his face turn as pale as paper, bowing with utmost fear and respect.

Even—

Standing behind Cole King—

The two of them could faintly sense the slight trembling of Cole King, the Ancient Kingdom envoy.

The seemingly plain white-robed youth, with his gentle voice imbued with soul-shaking power, had frightened Cole King to this state... Emperor Zhen Gu and Andrew Han were momentarily stunned, then instantly understood and bowed as well.

Because he was unsure of the white-robed youth's name, Emperor Zhen Gu did not speak.

Cole King felt the oppressive force vanish, but as Howard Gu's rebuke rang out, his heart clenched tightly.

There was no point in arguing—wrong was wrong. Besides, Howard Gu was a star-inscribed Human Genius, his status already extraordinary, and his strength was absolutely overwhelming. Cole King had no thought of resistance.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Cole King dropped to his knees, kneeling on the silver carpet of the Treasure Hall: “Cole King admits his guilt.”

Right after that—

Cole King trembled as he raised his head: “But I ask Your Highness to judge fairly. I only exercised my right to make recommendations and did not interfere with Andrew Han’s judgment or intent.”

According to the Supreme Law of the Human Race—once guilt is confirmed, the Genius involved chooses the degree of punishment, strengthening the sense of belonging and reducing resistance.

There is one other circumstance.

If the Genius is already dead and cannot choose, then everything must be handled with utmost severity. In that case, all core members of the Pink-Skin Humans would likely be wiped out.

“Hmph.”

Howard Gu shot Cole King a cold look, then turned toward Andrew Han with a gentle smile: “Andrew, you and I are both Geniuses—don’t be nervous. Tell me your thoughts.”

“Your Highness Howard,” Andrew Han said, “I stand by my original view: killing me is one thing, but if my closest family are threatened, their enemies must be exterminated to the ninth clan. In my judgment, all the Stellar Palace-tier and these two Void Rift-tier Pink-Skins present are the full set of perpetrators.”

If not for his terrifying soul talent and Emperor Zhen Gu’s intervention, Earth would likely already be extinct!

All those peaceful people would be dead, all the martial artists and Gifted who fought to defend their home would be buried, and Andrew Han’s close friends would never again fight at his side.

Most crucially, the threat to his family had driven Andrew Han into furious rage.

Innocent? Or unaware?

Maybe a few were—but who cares? Certainly not Andrew Han.

Just as the Pink-Skin Humans didn’t care how many innocents lived on blue Earth! Just as they didn’t care that Andrew Han’s closest family had always remained on Earth, never stepped into the starry sky, never had any enmity with the Pink-Skin Humans—yet they still insisted on slaughtering them without cause!

Then let killing stop killing!

Then let violence be answered with violence!

When it came to coldness and ruthlessness, Andrew Han never held back his killing intent.

“Very well, as you wish.”

The white-robed youth, Howard Gu, smiled and nodded lightly.

He approved, agreeing with this judgment—kindness must have its limits, or it becomes foolishness.

Over the years, Howard Gu had seen countless Geniuses. Some, before their rise, suffered pursuit and coercion, but when the Supreme Law descended to protect them, they ended up sympathizing with their would-be killers. Truly absurd.

Anything touching the Supreme Law is never trivial.

Without the Supreme Law, there would be no present flourishing of the Human Race.

Now, the Human Race thrives, the Supreme Law covers all territory, forging the best environment and sheltering cultivating Geniuses so they do not fall halfway.

“Cole King.”

Howard Gu turned to look at Cole King.

“Your Highness.”

Cole King remained kneeling, not daring to rise.

“Handle this matter thoroughly, without omissions. I will inspect it later,” Howard Gu said coolly. “When you’re finished, present yourself to the Yarlowe Sector Divisional Administrator for punishment.”

Yes!

Cole King felt as if he’d been granted a reprieve, letting out a breath of relief.

No matter what, at least he hadn’t died. But when he considered the consequences of facing punishment... Cole King’s face turned pale again. He slowly stood, gave Andrew Han a stiff smile, then sealed and escorted all the Pink-Skin Humans out of the Treasure Hall.

“Andrew Han.”

Once Cole King left, Howard Gu smiled at Andrew Han.

“Don’t be nervous,” Howard Gu said with a gentle laugh. “The majesty of the Supreme Law cannot be violated. Even if you choose to clear out the Pink-Skin core layer, it’s nothing at our level.”

“Mm.”

Andrew Han vaguely understood.

The Human domain was vast beyond measure, its population incalculably immense.

And the Supreme Law was crafted by the Human Supreme Hall.

At the Supreme Hall’s level, everything was weighed from the perspective of the entire Human Race. If the Supreme Law was harsher and more severe, resulting in more deaths, it was a minor matter.

The key was that Geniuses must be protected.

To ensure the Supreme Law’s smooth enforcement, its coverage, and its unmatched deterrent power, the three Human Supreme Halls would pay any price.

Kill one to warn a hundred!

Punish without mercy!

Some people only see the Supreme Law’s harshness and the many deaths, weakening a tiny fraction of the domain’s living strength.

But they fail to realize—

In the endless starry sky, only strength rules all.

If the law were not harsh and severe, it could never be truly effective; chaos would inevitably follow. Talented cultivators who should have risen would fall halfway, and over time, the Human Race would grow weak and lose its seat among the Four Great Life Races—the consequences would be unimaginable.

“No wonder the Supreme Law is so strict.”

Andrew Han nodded thoughtfully.

When he first entered the starry sky, Andrew Han found the Supreme Law of the Human Race strange, even unbelievable.

To mobilize such force for a single cultivating Genius—wasn’t that a bit much? But on reflection, looking at the whole Human domain, the benefits of enforcing the Supreme Law far outweighed the drawbacks.

“Still—”

“If the Human Race values its Geniuses this much, are the disputes among the major life races even fiercer?” For some reason, Andrew Han recalled a saying he’d once heard:

All beyond the Human Race are enemies!

...

Meanwhile, outside the imperial star—

A massive warp-drive ship slowly descended into the vast docking zone.

Click.

The hatch opened.

A pair of black cloth shoes stepped out first—it was Miles Ning from Earth. “Pink-Skin Humans... I’ve come today to cash in the promise you once made.”
