After accepting the mission, Ian Song didn’t rush out recklessly.
Instead, he headed for the Archive Tower, the God-Demon Corps’ building dedicated to ancient books.
The Archive Tower’s ancient books aren’t cultivation techniques.
Cultivation techniques can be bought in the God-Demon Corps, but since Ian has no shortage of techniques, he isn’t interested.
The Archive Tower’s books mainly record major historical events in the God Realm, as well as some special places. Ian learned this when he went to collect his recording stone—a senior Upper-Rank God in the Corps told him.
The Primordial Forbidden Zone also counts as a kind of special record, so there are ancient books about it in the Archive Tower.
The Archive Tower has three floors.
One-Star God-Demons can enter the first floor for free; to access the second, you need to pay three god-crystals.
Ian entered the Archive Tower smoothly and found that it contained at least tens of thousands of books.
The Eight Holy Artifacts.
Suddenly, Ian spotted a book.
He picked it up instinctively.
All the books in the Archive Tower are recorded as divine jade slips, and every word inside is protected by powerful restrictions—no one can modify or destroy them.
Ian probed it with his divine sense, and the book’s contents appeared in his mind.
When the God Realm was born, eight Holy Artifacts appeared with it.
These eight Holy Artifacts are incredibly powerful—each one has heaven-defying fortune.
The first Holy Artifact is called the Tear of Stars. It’s a soul-type artifact—wearing it constantly transforms the soul. Records say three Holy Emperors in the God Realm have worn the Tear of Stars, but after the third died, the artifact vanished.
The second Holy Artifact is called the Saint Emperor’s Set. It’s named after its owner, who became the only Saint Emperor—a rank above Holy Emperor. Since the God Realm’s birth, there’s only ever been one Saint Emperor.
The Saint Emperor’s Set includes the Saint Emperor Armor, Saint Emperor Sword, Saint Emperor Spear, Saint Emperor Boots, and Saint Emperor Cloak.
But after the Saint Emperor disappeared, the Saint Emperor’s Set vanished too. Legend says he took it with him.
The third Holy Artifact is the Moon Goddess’s Heart. This artifact is extremely mysterious—none of its owners ever revealed its secrets, but everyone who possessed it eventually became a top powerhouse in the God Realm.
The fourth Holy Artifact is the Holy Blood Pearl. It can absorb the blood of other living beings to strengthen its host, and after absorbing them, the host can gain their divine abilities. It’s totally OP.
But because the Holy Blood Pearl is so overpowered and can potentially steal unique divine abilities, anyone who gets it ends up hunted by God Realm elites. The last known owner was a God-King.
Once word got out, more than three Holy Emperors hunted him down.
After he was killed, five Holy Emperors joined forces to seal the Holy Blood Pearl.
The fifth Holy Artifact is the Time-Space Divine Hall. This divine hall can twist time and travel between countless worlds. Legend says it was once owned by the Star King, but after he was ambushed and killed by God-Kings, the hall vanished.
After the Star King died, the Time-Space Divine Hall disappeared too.
“Holy crap!”
Reading the introduction to the fifth Holy Artifact, Ian couldn’t help exclaiming inwardly. According to the description, isn’t this Time-Space Divine Hall exactly the same as my own divine hall?
“Damn it! I actually got one of the Eight Holy Artifacts—the Time-Space Divine Hall! If the big shots in the God Realm find out, won’t they go crazy hunting me down?”
Time has always been the most powerful law in existence—even God Emperors and Holy Emperors can’t control it at will.
But the Time-Space Divine Hall can twist time however it wants.
Excited as he was, Ian was mostly worried. Luckily, he no longer cultivates the Star Physique—otherwise, if people found out he was the Star King’s successor, he’d be in deep trouble.
Taking a deep breath to calm himself, Ian continued reading about the sixth Holy Artifact.
The sixth Holy Artifact is the All-Heavens Ancient Scroll. It’s not that strong in direct combat, but it can absorb entire worlds and refine them into energy for its host.
The seventh Holy Artifact is the Four Saints Diagram. It’s called that because four Sacred Beasts live inside the scroll, and each one is as strong as a Holy Emperor.
So, if any of the Eight Holy Emperors gets the Four Saints Diagram, they’ll instantly become the strongest. But the scroll is sentient, and the beasts inside refuse to be controlled—over countless eras, only one Holy Emperor has ever gained their recognition, and with it, nearly unified the God Realm.
The eighth Holy Artifact is the Heaven-Devouring Holy Sword. It’s extremely dangerous—sealed ever since it was born. If the seal is ever broken, it’ll devour everything, maybe even the entire God Realm. So, even if someone got it, nobody’s ever dared to actually use it.
After reading about all eight Holy Artifacts, Ian couldn’t help but feel awed.
Without showing any emotion, he put the book back and started searching for books about the Primordial Forbidden Land.
Soon enough, he found the book.
After reading it, Ian understood a lot more about the Primordial Forbidden Zone.
Legend has it, the Primordial Forbidden Zone was created during a battle between two Primordial powerhouses. Both were gravely wounded and couldn’t leave, so they went into deep sleep inside the zone.
As for the origin of the taboo beasts, there are two theories.
First, some say the taboo beasts are formed from the vital essence of the two Primordial powerhouses. Every few decades, they appear to gather energy and sustain the powerhouses’ lives. Some even claim the two will eventually awaken from the river of time.
Second, others say the battle between the two Primordial powerhouses broke through to an unknown space full of terrifying beasts. To prevent disaster, they sealed the passage with their lives. But as time passed, the seal weakened, and each time it loosened, more taboo beasts escaped to wreak havoc.
After finishing the book, Ian left the library.
There were tons of books here, and he planned to read more after completing his mission to better understand the God Realm.
He left the Yushan Branch of the God-Demon Corps.
Ian returned to his courtyard, gave instructions to Nan Feng and the others, and set off immediately.
According to the records in the crystal, a late-stage Lower-Rank God usually takes three days to reach the Primordial Forbidden Zone and return.
With Ian’s speed, he was confident he could reach the Primordial Forbidden Zone in half a day.
“Let’s go!”
After a quick check, Ian left Yushan Prefecture and sped toward the Primordial Forbidden Zone.
