What really surprised Ryan Ling was that Alice seemed to have a kind of irresistible aura about her—a witch’s natural allure. Human women could never have this kind of innate seductiveness; it was something she was born with, and once unleashed, no man could resist.
Just as Ryan was still a little taken aback, Alice had already walked right up to him. Without another word, she just kissed him directly. Demon women in the Demonic World are seriously this straightforward—their brains never take detours. If they want to say something, they say it. If they want to do something, they just do it!
“You, you…” Ryan was about to say something, but the moment her sweet lips covered his, his whole body went numb. His hand couldn’t help but slip around Alice’s slim waist!
Everything seemed like it was about to go perfectly according to plan, but just then, a loud voice rang out from outside the room.
“Lord Gore has been killed! The murderer is hiding somewhere in this town. Seal off every street immediately—we have to find this person!” As soon as this voice dropped, the sound of drums and gongs erupted all around.
“Alice, wait—looks like I can’t stay in this town tonight after all. We need to get out, fast!” Ryan wasn’t really afraid of the demons here, but he didn’t want to blow things up. More importantly, his real identity was human. If they found out, it wouldn’t just be the locals after him—every demon for miles would go nuts trying to kill him. He’d been warned about this before he came: the Immortal-World powerhouse told him over and over, never expose your identity in the Demonic World or you’re dead. If he blew his cover, not only would he lose his shot at finding his original body, he’d get stuck in a total nightmare here!
“Got it!” Alice was clearly a little unwilling—this was probably the first time she’d ever really fallen for someone. And honestly, any woman who got close to Ryan Ling would feel that strong masculine vibe he gave off. It made people’s hearts race and heads spin, making any woman want to throw herself into his arms!
But obviously, now was not the time. The whole town was on edge—escaping was the only option!
Ryan didn’t hesitate. He grabbed Alice and slipped out a side door of the inn. Just as they escaped, the whole place was instantly surrounded inside and out by demons. Ryan kept hearing shouts and threats all around—if they’d been just a second slower, they would’ve been totally trapped. Luckily, they ran fast enough, and both of them couldn’t help but breathe a sigh of relief!
“Move it!” Ryan didn’t want any trouble—he was ready to leave right now!
“Don’t go any further, it’s already blocked up ahead!” Just then, Alice grabbed Ryan’s arm—clearly, things were even more tense than they’d thought!
This town wasn’t big to begin with. The main streets were already sealed off—and not just with simple barricades, but with actual demonic formations. Those arrays in the Demonic World are seriously nasty; even someone as strong as Ryan Ling would get spotted trying to brute-force his way through. The formations are super sensitive, and for good reason—the Demonic World is always getting raided by Immortal World cultivators, so their defenses have to be sharp. Right now, the place was basically in total lockdown. There was no way they could just smash their way out!
“If we really have no choice, I’ll just fight my way out!” Ryan gritted his teeth, scanning for any possible escape route—but there was basically nowhere to go. The whole area was blanketed in thick, vicious demonic qi!
“Wait, I actually know a way—we can go to my best friend’s house. She’s got an underground passage that leads straight out of town!” Alice blurted out.
“Perfect, let’s get moving!” Ryan knew the best play was to keep things quiet and just get out safely. He really didn’t want to show up in the Demonic World and immediately get mobbed by every demon in town. That would set off a whole chain reaction and make things a hundred times worse!
“Follow me!” Alice clenched her fists and led Ryan down a deserted alley. If she hadn’t been guiding him, even Ryan wouldn’t have found it—and there weren’t any formations set up around here!
The two of them hurried along, one after the other, for several minutes. Suddenly Alice whispered, “Benefactor, just around the next corner is her place. She’s my closest friend in this town—she’ll definitely help us!”
“Great!” Ryan nodded quickly, but he’d barely finished saying it when a shout exploded nearby.
“Surround this house! The woman inside is deeply connected to the murderer—arrest her immediately!”
Alice freaked out as soon as she heard that shout. Not only was their last escape route blocked, but now her friend was getting dragged into this mess too!
Just then, a few town soldiers dragged a delicate young woman out of the house. She was small and stunning, but right now she was being manhandled by the guards, full of rage and shouting her innocence at the top of her lungs.
The soldiers didn’t care at all. One slapped her hard and snarled, “Lord Gore is dead, the whole manor’s been slaughtered by a mob, and someone saw your good sister Alice leading the charge. Tell us where Alice is right now, or I’ll slit your throat!”
“Pffft, I have no idea where Alice is—and even if I did, I’d never tell you bastards! That scumbag Lord Gore deserved to die; he killed so many innocent people in this town. Monsters like him should’ve been dead ages ago!” As soon as she finished, several soldiers started beating her savagely. The scene was brutal—Alice’s face turned green with fury, desperate to rush out and save her best friend.

Ryan was thinking the same thing. After all, Hepburn was only suffering because of him, and she was clearly a righteous demon who hated evil—plus, she was Alice’s best friend. There was no way Ryan could just stand by and watch. He quickly scanned the area; there were only five or six soldiers. If he could kill them all instantly and leave no witnesses, they could sneak into the house, use the underground passage, and slip out of town without anyone knowing.
With that thought, Ryan didn’t hesitate for a second—he shot out like a cannonball. Alice was startled by how decisive he was, but since Ryan was already fighting, she didn’t hesitate either and followed him into the fray!
“Who—?” One of the soldiers managed to shout, but before he could finish, his head was already flying off. The rest didn’t even get a word out before Ryan cut them down—he was so fast it was like lightning!
“Alice?” Hepburn still didn’t know what was happening, but when she saw Alice join the fight, she finally realized—and the two of them hugged each other in shock and relief.
Clearly, this kind of life-and-death sisterhood is beyond words!
“It’s my fault you got dragged into this, Hepburn!”
“It’s fine! If you hadn’t escaped Lord Gore’s manor, I would’ve tried to sneak in and save you myself!”

Listening to the two sisters catch up, Ryan quickly cut in: “Now’s not the time to chat—we need to get out of this town, fast. The guards are definitely going to find us sooner or later!”
“Right, Hepburn, let’s go! We’ll use your house’s underground tunnel and get out of here—straight to Stan City!” Alice called out.
“Yeah, Stan City! I’ve wanted to go there forever!” Hepburn agreed instantly. Clearly, the two of them had already made up their minds—once this was over, they were heading straight for Stan City!
Ryan didn’t hesitate either. He led them straight out of town through the underground tunnel. The whole escape was tense, but at least they made it. Honestly, Ryan hadn’t expected to end up with two beauties tagging along on his Demonic World adventure—and Hepburn was even sexier than Alice…
