"Alright, I'll be staying in the city for a while. You all can follow me for a few days, and we'll figure things out later." Evan Yang couldn't think of a solution for now, so he let them tag along for the time being.
"Okay." The six of them, though they hadn't been promised to stay with Evan Yang forever, still nodded excitedly.
Ethan Lin could only helplessly follow Evan Yang. After dinner, Evan gave the six of them new clothes, instantly restoring their confidence and bringing them joy. They all hoped they could stay with Evan forever.
But Evan Yang had his own path to walk; he couldn't bring them along forever. He would have to find someone to lead them into a normal life.
After preparing some dry rations and daily necessities, Evan Yang took them out of Everstead City.
"Mu, I have things to do. I'll leave these six kids to you." Before leaving the city, Ethan Lin said to Evan Yang.
"Alright, don't worry." Evan Yang nodded, then took the six kids a short distance away from Everstead City, found a secluded spot by a cliff, made a cave, and tied a vine between the cave and the cliff.
Finally, he got all six kids into the cave one by one. Watching Evan Yang leap across the cliff, the little ones were all dumbfounded and clamored to learn how to do it.
"Do you want to learn how to fly across like I just did?" Evan Yang smiled.
"Yes!" all six answered in unison.
"Alright then, I'll pass some cultivation methods to you soon. As long as you train properly, you'll be able to fly across like that in the future." Evan Yang saw the kids were still young and didn't know how to explain, so he communicated with them this way.
The six immediately said they wanted to learn quickly to help Evan Yang fight bad people. Seeing their little faces, Evan Yang smiled. "Alright."
Evan Yang then asked Old Clam for a suitable method. At a glance, it seemed ordinary, but it fit the six perfectly. If they mastered it, they could perform a combined attack—enough for all six to defeat someone a whole realm above them. That eased Evan's mind.
So Evan Yang first taught them the Rising Sun Scripture, so they could cultivate and eventually use Old Clam's six-person combined attack technique.
This technique was called the Six-Star Killing Array.
Though he'd never seen the array's power firsthand, Evan Yang was excited by Old Clam's description. After teaching them the Rising Sun Scripture, he passed the Six-Star Killing Array to the six, telling them to practice it after they mastered the basics.
A day later, after all six managed to reach the first layer of the Rising Sun Scripture, Evan Yang finally felt at ease and prepared to leave.
"Alright, no matter what, you must finish cultivating the Rising Sun Scripture. As for the Six-Star Killing Array, I've passed it on to you too. From here on, it's up to you." Evan Yang sat among the six kids and smiled.
"Big brother, are you leaving?" Mu Shu saw Evan Yang's intentions and asked. The other five looked at Evan with the same expression.
"Yes, big brother has things to do. I'll visit you if I get the chance. Here are enough Spirit Crystal Ores—you can use them to trade for daily necessities." Before leaving, Evan Yang made sure to leave plenty of Spirit Crystal Ores for them.
Though reluctant, after spending a day with Evan Yang, the six understood they couldn't burden him. They simply nodded, but when Evan soared away, they couldn't hold back their tears.
"Big brother, will you come back?" Mu Xuan couldn't help but cry.
"I don't know, but we need to work hard so we can help big brother fight those bad people in the future." Mu Shu, the oldest, clenched his fists after seeing Evan leave in such a hurry.
"Yeah, we can't cry." Mu Xuan, the second oldest, chimed in. After a long while, the six finally calmed down and focused on practicing the Rising Sun Scripture and the Six-Star Killing Array Evan Yang had taught them.
Evan Yang had no idea he'd left such a deep impression on them.
After leaving, Evan Yang couldn't calm his mood for a long time. "Sigh, I hope they'll be alright."
Just as he stepped back into the city, someone sent by Lynn Snowmoon found him.
For some reason, Evan Yang felt a sense of foreboding and quickly followed the messenger to Lynn Snowmoon's boat, where he found her pacing anxiously.
"What's wrong?" Evan Yang asked curiously as he pushed open the door.
"Mu, you finally showed up!" Lynn Snowmoon exclaimed.
"What happened?" Evan Yang asked when he saw Lynn Snowmoon like this.
"Miss Chu from the Chu Family has disappeared," Lynn Snowmoon replied.
"What!" Evan Yang was shocked.
"Don't panic, let me finish. It might have been planned," Lynn Snowmoon quickly continued.
"Tell me, what happened exactly?" Evan Yang couldn't help but ask anxiously.
"Last night, people from the Bai Family went to the Chu Family. The Bai patriarch and the Chu patriarch were talking when someone entered Miss Chu's room. By the time the Chu patriarch realized, it was too late—the room was empty." Lynn Snowmoon told Evan Yang everything she knew.
"Bai Family?" Evan Yang remembered how they hadn't sent anyone to look for him yesterday, and now they were involved with the Chu Family. His eyes narrowed, lost in thought.
Seeing Evan Yang like this, Lynn Snowmoon asked curiously, "Do you know who it was?"
"I can't be sure yet. I'll go check it out." Evan Yang suspected the Bai Family was involved, so he decided to investigate.
"Do you want my help?"
