Cycle of Rebirth Unleashed

12/19/2025

Joe Di had been on guard against the Book of Life and Death, but he couldn't find where it was hidden. Now, as the deathly aura of the Book pressed down upon him, he understood.

Samuel Shang had, without his notice, summoned the Book of Life and Death to seal this section of the void. Clearly, he had no intention of letting Joe Di escape today.

Instinctively, Joe Di tried to withdraw from the vast space of death conjured by the Book of Life and Death. But as soon as he stepped back, the boundless Heavenly Dao pressure crashed down. No matter how strong Joe Di was, up to now he had always cultivated by comprehending the rules of heaven and earth; his Dao was still bound by these cosmic laws.

As the Heavenly Dao rules pressed down, the aura of death enveloped both Joe Di's body and soul. At that moment, Joe Di knew all too well that he couldn't escape relying solely on his own strength. The array flags of law he'd set up earlier probably couldn't help him flee. Even if they could, the chance was negligible.

“Joe Di, I had hoped to capture you alive, but now my Book of Life and Death has formed the Heavenly Dao Death Tome—I can no longer control your fate. Still, you have some backbone; at least you didn’t run away like a turtle…” As Samuel Shang spoke, his hands continuously cast one incantation after another onto the Book of Life and Death.

The deathly aura binding Joe Di grew thicker, and the pressure of the Heavenly Dao made it hard for him to catch his breath.

Joe Di's thoughts turned quickly; he raised his hand and unleashed the Lethe Bridge.

If not for the Lethe Bridge, he might have retreated into the Ninth World and then sought another solution. But under this Heavenly Dao pressure, he likely had no chance to enter the Ninth World.

The black Lethe Bridge instantly transformed into an arch beneath the Book of Life and Death’s domain. Standing on the bridge, Joe Di felt the pressure lighten.

The vast aura of life and death from the Book of Life and Death surged forth, accompanied by endless Nether Dao resonance, but at that moment the Lethe Bridge interfered, and its force quickly weakened.

Joe Di was overjoyed and raised his hand, unleashing endless Law Resonance.

Under Joe Di's Dao resonance, the Cycle Resonance of the Lethe Bridge grew ever clearer. He was no longer the Joe Di who once couldn't control the Lethe Bridge.

The continuous Cycle Resonance crashed against the life-and-death resonance of the Book of Life and Death, and the pressure of the Heavenly Dao began to fade.

Chants of the Dao echoed on the Lethe Bridge, lingering without end.

Ten Dharma Realms of life and death, the Six Paths revolve in reincarnation!

No matter why you came, no matter where you go, it is all for the cycle of rebirth. Coming is reincarnation; leaving is reincarnation!

The Cycle Resonance of the Lethe Bridge grew stronger and stronger. Suddenly, Joe Di let out a long howl and released his Dao resonance: “Cycle Resonance—crush!”

Cycle Resonance—crush!

Boom! The Cycle Resonance tore through the Heavenly Dao space of the Book of Life and Death, causing the Book to fall from the void!

Standing atop the Lethe Bridge, Joe Di was ecstatic. Without hesitation, he reached for the Book of Life and Death. That tome was absolutely a supreme treasure—Samuel Shang wanted his possessions, and Joe Di wanted Samuel Shang’s in return.

“Lethe Bridge!” Samuel Shang cried out in horror, his mind echoing with disbelief—how could this be possible? How could it?

The Lethe Bridge was a Heavenly Dao bridge—how could it become the Ninth’s artifact?

With a sharp crack, the Heavenly Dao space of the Book of Life and Death was torn apart by the Cycle Resonance. Samuel Shang spat out a mouthful of blood; he knew now was not the time to ponder Joe Di’s Lethe Bridge, but to ensure the Book of Life and Death didn’t fall into Joe Di’s hands.

The Creation Brush once again swept through the void, inscribing a massive 'Yang' character. A wild surge of blazing yang energy blasted toward Joe Di, but Joe Di was unfazed—he sent the Voidmount crashing into the giant 'Yang' glyph.

Boom, boom, boom! The violent divine energy shook the void, shattering the Law Resonance into fragments. The once-clear Dao resonance in the world became blurred at this moment.

In that brief window, Samuel Shang snatched up the Book of Life and Death and fled the crushing space of Cycle Resonance.

Joe Di cursed inwardly—he was just a fraction of a moment too late. If he’d had even half a breath more, he could have claimed the Book of Life and Death.

Samuel Shang didn’t run away; he simply stared at Joe Di and said, “You even possess the Lethe Bridge. Could it be you’re the reincarnation of a Genesis powerhouse?”

Joe Di didn’t bother with Samuel Shang’s chatter. He was wary of Samuel Shang’s Genesis Script Divine Art, and he felt Samuel Shang hadn’t unleashed even one percent of its true power. He couldn’t tell if it was just a feeling or if Samuel Shang hadn’t fully grasped the Genesis Script Divine Art.

He stepped forward, the Azure Veil Blade sweeping up a curtain of blades. With a cold laugh, he said, “Samuel Shang, did you think I’d let you go? Try running, unless you never set foot in Lost Dao City again. Even if you don’t, I’ll find a way to finish you off.”

Samuel Shang swept his hand, the Creation Brush releasing countless Dao resonance as he shouted, “Joe Di, I do not fear you. So what if you have the Lethe Bridge? I simply do not wish to fight you now. At this moment, neither of us can do anything to the other. Your friend is in Halfmark Marsh—I haven’t harmed her.”

With that, Samuel Shang tossed a jade slip to Joe Di and turned to leave. As Samuel Shang fled, Joe Di resisted the urge to activate his Law Array Banner and set up a killing array.

Samuel Shang was surely a top-tier array emperor—even if Joe Di did set up a killing array, it wouldn’t trap him. Worse, it would reveal Joe Di’s Law Array Banner technique. That method was best saved for a critical moment, to teach Samuel Shang a lesson.

Joe Di’s divine sense swept over the jade slip, confirming the location was indeed Halfmark Marsh. He watched Samuel Shang’s retreating figure, feeling a pang of regret. Samuel Shang had a trove of treasures, but his strength was at least equal to Joe Di’s. If not for the Lethe Bridge, it would have been Joe Di fleeing this time.

Right now, he didn’t have the power to take down Samuel Shang—he was even a bit weaker. To defeat Samuel Shang, Joe Di would have to succeed in Dao Fusion.

After taking a deep breath, Joe Di suppressed the urge to pursue and kill Samuel Shang. Instead, he turned and sped toward Halfmark Marsh.

He believed Samuel Shang wouldn’t deceive him—that wasn’t the issue. Samuel Shang wasn’t afraid of him, so he would surely return to Lost Dao City. Since Samuel Shang would go back, it meant he couldn’t bear to leave Lost Dao City. If Samuel Shang did lie, Joe Di would go there himself.

Samuel Shang wasn’t afraid of him, and Joe Di wasn’t afraid of Samuel Shang either. With a person of Samuel Shang’s status, he’d never let himself lose face in Lost Dao City.
