Chapter 402: Source of Life

Damn it...

Leon was startled.

He was already at the Mage level—his actual combat strength even surpassed most titled Mages. Even in Auckland, where powerful figures gathered, few could threaten him. Yet despite this, he still harbored deep fear toward the Primordial Deity Soul Fragment within the demi-plane. This time, he carefully opened the demi-plane, and just a wisp of Primordial Deity aura escaping was enough to make his heart race...

The Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf's behavior was simply too strange.

Even when he brought out magic crystals, he’d never seen it so enthusiastic.

As soon as the Primordial Deity aura was released, the Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf—who couldn’t be roused no matter how much he poked it—suddenly woke up and dashed straight inside. Leon was left puzzled; if only he could communicate with it, he’d really want to ask what was going on.

But he didn’t have time to dwell on that now. The Three-Eyed Shadow Wolf had rushed into the demi-plane, and whether it would live or die was anyone’s guess. After all, this was no longer the barren demi-plane it used to be—if something unexpected happened...

He hurriedly stepped onto the land of the demi-plane.

This was his second time coming here since the demi-plane had changed.

But each time, his heart pounded even harder...

In just a few days, the demi-plane had changed again in subtle ways. Last time, the central river was nowhere near as wide as it was now. Standing on the land, Leon saw shady trees and lush grass everywhere—life flourished in every corner.

Sensing a disturbance somewhere, Leon swallowed nervously. That was where the Primordial Deity Soul Fragment lay—and it was also the place with the densest life force in the entire plane...

All the changes in the demi-plane were caused by the Primordial Deity Soul Fragment.

And this was only a fraction of its power leaking out. With earth, water, fire, and wind still unstable, it had already overridden the rules and birthed forests, meadows, and rivers within the demi-plane...

If just a little power escaping could do all this, what would happen if it truly awakened?

Leon really couldn’t imagine it.

There was no doubt about it—he couldn’t bear to give up this naturally formed demi-plane. Anderson had also said that the Primordial Deity Soul Fragment could help him. In less than ten years, the demi-plane would fully mature, an irresistible temptation. In history, those lucky enough to gain a natural demi-plane spent centuries, sometimes far longer, just to bring it to maturity.

The value of this natural demi-plane was truly incalculable. Once it matured, it could very well become a true world.

Inside the demi-plane, Leon could feel it firsthand—meditating here was terrifyingly efficient. Conservatively, it was nearly twenty times more effective than the outside world. Even with thirty thousand years’ worth of knowledge, Leon couldn’t think of anywhere in Northend that could compare.

There simply wasn’t...

The Apocalypse Plane was saturated with mana, but none of it could be absorbed. Not even Leon, whose power rivaled a titled Mage, nor Joey the Star Sage—standing at the very peak and touching transcendent power—would come to a good end if they tried to draw even a sliver of mana from there.

Leon stood quietly, immersed in the demi-plane’s unbelievably abundant mana. Gradually, a smile crept onto his face...

It was worth it...

All the risks he’d taken had been worth it...

Back in that secluded mountain valley, Leon had chosen to excavate the second Primordial Deity Soul Fragment and place it into the demi-plane, letting the two fragments fuse. To pull it off, he’d risked everything. If he hadn’t had the Lucky Box in hand, he might have been reduced to ashes along with the valley by that terrifying, irresistible force...

But seeing all this now, Leon knew the risk had been worth it...

Yes, just look at this place...

The mana here could only be described as terrifying. Even an idiot living here would quickly become a mage...

Leon himself didn’t particularly care for all this, but that didn’t mean others wouldn’t.

Take Leon’s fifty Grand Mages, for example...

Frankly, a mercenary company made up of fifty Grand Mages would be enough to establish itself in Seaview City, even in the eastern kingdom.

But Leon knew all too well—that still wasn’t enough!

He was the one who founded the Gilded Rose. More than anyone, he understood its shortcomings.

And that shortcoming was power...

He was the heart of the Gilded Rose, but he couldn’t stay there forever. So he needed a strong, intimidating mercenary company to back it up.

The Merlin Elder Council’s greed for the Gilded Rose made it clear—if those elders quietly slipped into Seaview City, the losses could be catastrophic...

Lately, he’d been searching for a solution, but nothing had come to mind.

Until he discovered the natural demi-plane’s transformation, he immediately had William Merlin write to Farrow.

Nearly twenty times the meditation efficiency...
