The Meaning of Not Treasuring It
Seeing everyone crowding around Lucia Lu, someone suddenly slammed the half-eaten peach they were holding onto the table in front of her with a loud 'smack.'
The chatter stopped instantly. Everyone turned to look at the person who threw the peach.
It was Princess Quinn Xiao.
“What kind of Immortal Flat Peach is this? It tastes like chewed-up sawdust!” Princess Quinn Xiao sneered. “It’s nothing compared to our Drake Abyss Flat Peaches—yours are a hundred thousand miles behind!”
Lucia Lu raised an eyebrow at her. “So what? You throw this peach in front of me—what’s that supposed to mean?”
“It means I don’t want it!” Princess Quinn Xiao held her head high, radiating pure arrogance.
Ryan Lu was furious. “If your Drake Abyss peaches are so amazing, how come Princess Quinn Xiao never brings any to share with the group?”
“Drake Abyss Flat Peaches aren’t something just anyone can eat,” Princess Quinn Xiao sneered. “Who do you think you are?”
“Princess Quinn Xiao, don’t you think you’re going a bit too far?” Harvey Quinn of Cangwu asked, his face dark.
He’d once sought medical help from the Spirit Alliance and was already acquainted with Lucia Lu and her brothers.
“That’s right! No matter what, the Lumina Realm sent these peaches all the way here as a gesture of goodwill. How could you trample on that?” Others began to chime in, criticizing her.
Still, there were some who backed Princess Quinn Xiao: “Her Highness is just telling the truth!”
It was Jenna Summers.
Lucia Lu glanced at her, eyes slightly cold.
But Jenna Summers avoided her gaze and stepped forward. “I’ve eaten Drake Abyss Flat Peaches before—they’re way tastier than these! Those are the real deal. This one? Just a pretty peach at best.”
Ryan Lu was about to speak up, but just then, Ian Yan suddenly stood and said, “How many Immortal Flat Peaches have you actually eaten, that you think you can talk nonsense here? Yes, the Lumina peaches and the Drake Abyss peaches do taste different. Drake Abyss peaches are juicier and have a crisper flavor, while Lumina peaches are sweeter. But they’re both Immortal Flat Peaches—the effects are the same. If you don’t like them, don’t eat them! Stop making a fuss!”
Among all the glamorous, noble gods present, Ian Yan was the most inconspicuous.
Average height, darker skin, looked honest, introverted, and not talkative.
No one expected him to speak up so suddenly. Mouths hung open as everyone stared at him in shock.
“Ian Yan! You country bumpkin who hangs out with ghosts all day—nobody wants to hear from you!” Princess Quinn Xiao knew his background well.
She’d been there when King Hades brought him.
Back then, King Hades told the Celestial Emperor, ‘This kid is basically ruined.’
Ten thousand years of cultivation, gone in a flash—now he wasn’t even as good as a demigod.
All anyone hoped was that he’d learn some tactics at the Palace Guard Barracks and maybe go home as an advisor to the next Yama Lord.
So, deep down, Princess Quinn Xiao just saw him as a lost cause.
“One day, you’ll be a ghost too!” Ian Yan shot back. “When that happens, don’t bother coming to the Underworld!”
“How dare you! Who gave you permission to talk to this princess like that?” Princess Quinn Xiao slapped at him.
Ian Yan didn’t flinch—he just raised a hand and blocked her.
Their palms met. Princess Quinn Xiao shrieked, stumbled back several steps, and only managed to steady herself by crashing into the table.
Ian Yan, on the other hand, radiated a powerful, dark aura, his eyes sharp as he stared at her.
The way he looked—the aura, the eyes—blended perfectly with his dark energy. There was something strangely captivating about it.
Everyone just stared blankly at Ian Yan.
“You… you…” Princess Quinn Xiao stared at him in disbelief. “How is this possible?”
Ian Yan replied, “Let all the gods bear witness—I was only defending myself. Is Her Highness all right?”
