Breaking the Entrance

1/19/2026

Evan Chu began circulating his Chaos Immortal Force to recover, while Lynn Chu and Jade moved to the cliffside at the entrance, examining how to break it open.

Both women knew that breaking open the entrance would be extremely difficult—it required overwhelming attack power. Even though their strength was enough to ascend to the God Realm, it still wasn't enough to force open the entrance, leaving them a bit anxious.

The two women were anxious, but back in the Frostbane Imperial Palace of the Immortal Realm, Gavin Wei was even more worried. Inside an elegant room of the palace, a group of people stood together, and one beautiful woman sobbed as she looked at another woman lying on the bed with her eyes tightly shut.

"Mom, you have to hang in there! Dad has already gone to the Demonic Realm to find a Soul Mushroom to heal you, so you must hold on!"

"Lynn, don't cry. Your mother can't hear you right now. The body on the bed is just her soulless shell. Let's wait for your father to return before we worry." Selena Yale said.

"Aunt Ping, when will Dad come back? I'm so worried about Mom!" the girl cried.

The girl was, of course, Lynn Chu. Ever since Selena was brought back to Frostbane Imperial Palace, Lynn had stayed by her side, shedding countless tears each day. Yvonne Xuan and Selena Yale, among others, often cried with her.

"Lynn, crying won't help. Let's hear what your Uncle Wei has to say. It's been over ten days already, and we still don't know if Evan is in danger in the Demonic Realm. It's really worrying." Yvonne Xuan said.

"Sister-in-law, I'm worried about Evan too, and even more about Selena's condition. Her body is different from everyone else's—it's a Demonic Realm body, and the Immortal Realm rejects it fiercely. We can't stop this rejection. The only hope is for Evan to return soon.

With her current condition, she can last at most three more days. If Evan doesn't come back by then, it may truly be hopeless. You were able to restore your bodies because you're natives of the Immortal Realm—so long as you have strong five-element power and Immortal Spirit Force, there's a chance to recover.

But Selena is different. To restore her body, she can only go to the Demonic Realm—there's no way to recover in the Immortal Realm. The pulling force of the Demonic Realm can easily tear her flesh apart, and if she's kept in a storage ring, her body will rot. Even as the so-called Divine Healer, I'm powerless here," Gavin Wei said helplessly.

Actually, Gavin Wei was half right and half wrong. Evan Chu only needs to bring back Selena's remnant soul to restore her body—her original flesh isn't strictly necessary. But right now, Selena's remnant soul is too weak to recover, so entering her original body is best, and avoids a lot of trouble.

As for absorbing Immortal Spirit Force or demonic qi, there's not much difference. When Selena wakes up again, her soul will be extremely weak and need careful nurturing. During this period, she can absorb either Immortal Spirit Force or demonic qi—it doesn't matter. Gavin Wei just doesn't know this, since such a case has never happened before.

While everyone in the Immortal Realm was worried, Evan Chu kept recovering nonstop. He wanted to hurry back to Frostbane Imperial Palace as soon as possible—he knew all too well how anxious everyone would be if the three of them were late returning.

After swallowing nearly ten Jadeheart Lotus seeds, his Chaos Immortal Force was only half restored. Now, there were very few Jadeheart Lotus seeds left in his storage ring—he'd have to save them for the most critical moments.

After a full day of recovery, Evan Chu stopped. Jade and Lynn Ling had attacked the entrance between the Demonic Realm and Immortal Realm dozens of times, but couldn't break through. The backlash was so intense that both women ended up injured.

Seeing the blood at the corners of their mouths, Evan Chu felt a pang of guilt. "Let me break it open. You two step back—don't get hurt by the energy backlash."

Both women trusted Evan Chu's attack power completely. Even though he was missing an arm, he was still incredibly strong. They quickly flew into the air, stopping several kilometers from the entrance to watch how Evan would break through.

The entrance was actually an energy barrier—a type governed by the laws of heaven and earth. Evan Chu didn't know why it was there. After comprehending the laws, he could only smile wryly at the method he would have to use to break it.

Evan Chu glanced at the cliff before him. He had broken open the entrance to the Netherworld before, and knew this cliff was just a decoy—the real attack wasn't aimed at the cliff itself.

With a thought, Evan Chu swung the Frostbane Divine Sword, unleashing Divine Cleave—a test strike to probe the barrier's strength.

The powerful attack struck the invisible barrier and instantly triggered a backlash. Evan Chu knew that unless the barrier was broken, the stronger the attack, the stronger the backlash would be. That was why Jade and Lynn Ling were injured—the backlash matched their own power.

Evan Chu was blasted dozens of meters back, hovering in the air. His blood churned, but it was still within his tolerance. He scanned the invisible barrier with his divine sense, but found nothing.

"Looks like I'll have to try the Unicorn Arm. Hopefully this time it'll work," Evan Chu murmured to himself.

After circulating his Chaos Immortal Force, Evan Chu unleashed Divine Cleave again. This time, the space trembled violently as the sword energy struck the barrier. Once more, Evan was blasted back—but this time, he flew hundreds of meters before stopping.

A mouthful of blood spurted out, and Evan Chu's face turned pale. Now he understood why the Demonic Realm army had to wait for the barrier to open itself before attacking the Immortal Realm—this kind of barrier wasn't something just anyone could break.

Jade and Lynn Ling flew over to Evan Chu. Lynn Ling asked, "Lin Feng, the backlash from this barrier is way too strong. We can't break it at all. How badly are you hurt?"

"I'm fine. Jade, check the invisible barrier for cracks. That last attack could seriously wound or even kill a god, so there must be some reaction. See if you can find anything," Evan Chu said.

Jade immediately scanned the barrier with her divine sense. After a while, she smiled. "Young Master, you were right. There really is a tiny crack in the barrier. It's small, but it's there. Maybe a few more tries will break it."

"Excellent! I won't need a few tries—just one more will do. You two step even farther back. This next strike will be my strongest yet. Watch closely!" Evan Chu said, flashing forward to within dozens of meters of the barrier. He unleashed Ninefold Divine-Dragon Metamorphosis and Divine Cleave in quick succession...
