Going Home With Him

"Yeah, thanks to you! It's almost winter and I still have to take cold baths! And after bathing, I don't even have any clothes to wear!" She wrapped herself tightly in her cloak and shouted at him.

"Wait here." Evan Xiao whistled, and the Silver Dragon Horse trotted over.

There was a bundle on the horse, stuffed with several sets of clothes, including two sets of women's outfits.

"Bought these for you on the way. Try them on and see if they fit." Evan Xiao handed her the clothes and turned away.

Grace put them on, and they fit perfectly.

By the time she walked out from behind the big rock, Evan Xiao was already grilling fish over the fire.

Grace was still annoyed and couldn't calm down. She found a spot far away from him, sat down hugging her knees, and kept her face cold and silent.

"Actually, my family... is pretty big." Evan Xiao suddenly said.

Grace glanced at him but said nothing.

"A lot of people in my family are really strong, and they live a long time," Evan Xiao continued. "Someday, I will too."

Grace glanced at him again. So shameless!

But, Vermilion Kingdom, big clans... There are several major families in Vermilion, but none named Xiao?

"There's no other reason I want you to train harder," Evan Xiao said. "I just hope you can reach a level where you can extend your life, so I can always be with you."

Grace raised her eyebrows and asked, "Are you really from the Vermilion Kingdom?"

Evan Xiao paused, then said, "You'll know when you come home with me."

Go home with him?

Is she really going home with him?

Just imagining it made her feel a strong sense of anticipation... Grace twisted her fingers, feeling helpless.

So promise me you'll work hard and reach Spirit Practitioner, Grandmaster as soon as possible," Evan Xiao said again.

Grace said nothing.

Hmm?

"Even if it wasn't for you, I'd still do it!" Grace said. "Heaven gave me the Celestial Five-Element Root again, so of course I have to work hard and live up to my gift."

Again?

Evan Xiao glanced at her and said calmly, "Your skills don't look like someone who's just started training."

Grace's eyebrows twitched, and she lowered her eyes, saying nothing.

"Why?" he asked again.

"Let me grill the fish!" Grace stood up, took some herbs from her space, washed them, and added them in. Instantly, the fish smelled even more delicious.

Evan Xiao looked at her. "Can't you tell me?"

"If you really marry me someday, I'll tell you." It concerns the fate of the entire Zhu Family, so she had to be careful.

"Why not now?"

"Because you haven't married me yet!" Grace shot him a sideways glance.

Evan Xiao smiled and wrapped his arm around her waist. "Alright."

Grace tried to dodge, but couldn't, so she just let it be.

After eating their fill, Grace's hair was mostly dry. Evan Xiao helped her tie it simply, and they rode the Silver Dragon Stallion out of the valley to a nearby town.

Evan Xiao suggested they find an inn for the night.

Grace insisted they head back right away.

They were at a stalemate when suddenly—boom! Thunder rumbled.

Seeing it was getting late and rain was coming, Grace had no choice but to agree to stay at the inn.

This little town had only one inn—a two-story building.

Though the town was small, it was on a main road. Maybe because of the rain, there were quite a few guests.

When they went in, they were told there were no rooms left except for the most expensive suite. They were asked if they wanted it.
