Do You Think I Won't Recognize You If You Cover Your Face

"A small branch of the Moonshadow Rift," Evan Xiao replied.

"What!" Grace screeched. "Moonshadow Rift?"

To someone who doesn't know, 'Moonshadow Rift' might sound like a romantic getaway.

But in reality, it's a place that makes people tremble in fear.

It's located at the border between the Blue Moon Kingdom and the Windspire Kingdom, filled with swamps and dark pools, hiding terrifying high-level spirit beasts. It's unpredictably dangerous.

Of course, that's not the point.

The point is... this place is a thousand miles away from Danyang City!

"How did you bring me here? I was clearly in Danyang!" Grace asked, confused.

"Silver Dragon Stallion is fast. We got here in half a day."

"Half a day? So you knocked me out for half a day, then dumped me in the Moonshadow Rift to fend for myself?"

"A subconscious reaction to danger is an essential skill for every Spirit Practitioner," Evan Xiao said. "I'm not abandoning you; I'm training you."

"Are you nuts? I'm not your soldier! Who asked you to train me?"

Evan Xiao's face darkened as he called her by her full name, "Chloe Zhu."

"What?" Grace shot him a sideways glance.

"You have to keep getting stronger and keep improving."

Grace narrowed her eyes. "What do you mean?"

"It means, from now on, there will be more training," Evan Xiao said. "Cultivation, skills, survival—comprehensive training."

"What if I say no?"

Evan Xiao looked at her. "Do you think you have a choice?"

Getting knocked out and tossed in like this, she really didn't have a choice!

Grace took a deep breath. "Then at least I don't have to be your woman, right!"

"Nope."

"Why not?!"

"You've already slept with me. What's done is done, the rice is cooked, there's no turning back now."

Grace: "..."

"Come here." Evan Xiao grabbed her and started walking.

"What are you doing!"

"Go wash up in that stream first. You're so dirty, even a Direwolf Titan wouldn't take a bite out of you."

Grace looked down at herself, covered in blood. She really did need a wash, otherwise she'd be too uncomfortable...

The stream was crystal clear, with smooth pebbles at the bottom—super clean.

Plus, there was a big rock on the bank, perfect for cover.

Grace quickly stripped off her clothes and washed herself from head to toe.

Then she realized... there were no spare clothes left in her storage space...

She glanced at her old clothes on the bank—torn, filthy, and unrecognizable. Grace quietly climbed ashore, hid behind the rock, and peeked out at Evan Xiao.

A fire was already burning on the grass.

But Evan Xiao was nowhere to be seen.

Where did he go?

She craned her neck out further, looking all around, but still didn't see him.

"Looking for me?" Suddenly, a voice sounded behind her.

Grace turned around and saw Evan Xiao standing right behind her, holding several fish strung together with grass.

"You—ah!" Grace screamed, covering her face. "Pervert! Don't look!"

Evan Xiao burst out laughing. "Shouldn't you be covering your chest and... down there, instead of your face? Why cover your face? Do you think I won't know who you are if you cover it?"

"Go away!" Grace turned around, stomping her feet in embarrassment and anger.

"It's not like I haven't seen it before. Why such a big reaction?" Evan Xiao's breath drew closer, and suddenly, her back felt warm.

Grace looked back and saw he'd draped a thick cloak over her shoulders, then asked considerately, "Don't have any clean clothes to change into?"
