"There's no need to tell you. Are we close or something? If you want to know my lady's name, maybe look in the mirror first and see what kind of person you are!" Lynn Zhu couldn't help but snap angrily.
The youth glanced at Lynn and then laughed, "I was asking about the beauty with the veil, not the ugly girl with the veil."
"You dare call my lady ugly? You're looking for trouble!" Lynn shouted, chopping her palm toward him.
The young master showed a hint of disdain on his face, casually waving his own palm to neutralize her attack.
"My big brother was talking to her, what's it got to do with you? If you keep quiet, people might think you're mute. Who do you think you are to lecture my boss?
Just looking at you makes me want to puke. I really worry if you'll ever get married in this lifetime. Ugly as hell!" the other youth shouted from the side.
At that, Lily Tang lost her temper. She couldn't keep up her lady-like act any longer and roared, "Say it again—who are you calling ugly, you bastard! If I don't teach you two idiots a lesson today, my surname isn't Tang!"
She turned to her attendants and snapped, "Give these two a proper lesson. Make sure they remember it."
Evan Chu had thought Lily Tang would act herself, hoping to see her true strength, but she just ordered her attendants to step in instead.
"Yes, Miss! We'll make sure you're satisfied!" one of the attendants responded immediately.
One of the other youths seemed to realize something was wrong and whispered to his companion, "Let's go! We've still got things to do today—no point embarrassing ourselves here. These people look like they're serious trouble."
"Big bro, what are you scared of? In White Tiger City, who dares mess with us? Today I want to see what they can really do to me."
Smack! A crisp slap rang out, and the arrogant youth was sent flying, a clear five-finger mark on his face and blood pouring from his mouth.
To send someone flying with a single slap—that kind of strength, Evan Chu wouldn't dare guess lightly. He definitely couldn't do it himself. That attendant had to be at least Earth Martial Realm.
If even an attendant is at Earth Martial Realm, then Lily Tang's family must be truly formidable. Better not offend her in the future—her 'mother tyrannosaurus' temper really can flip at any moment.
The punk finally managed to scramble to his feet, clutching his battered face and shouting angrily, "You—you've got guts, causing trouble here! Just you wait!"
He wasn't stupid; anyone who could send him flying with a single slap clearly had serious cultivation. The other youth's eyes flashed with a strange light before he quickly composed himself. "My brother doesn't know any better. Please don't be angry, miss. May I ask who you are?"
Lynn Zhu snorted, "Trying to find out who we are so you can get revenge, huh? Well, I'm not afraid to tell you—my lady is from the Tang Family!" she declared proudly.
"Tang Family?" The punk's face changed dramatically. He grabbed his injured companion and bolted, realizing they'd provoked someone way out of their league.
Lily Tang shot Lynn a glare. "Why can't you ever keep your mouth shut?"
On the bustling street, Evan Chu noticed plenty of boys and girls about his age, all apparently heading to Heavenly Dragon Academy.
Thanks to this year's Academy admissions, White Tiger City was livelier than ever.
Soon enough, they'd bought everything they needed. "Miss, I heard White Tiger City has a really famous dish. Want to try it?" Lynn asked eagerly.
"What dish?"
Evan was curious too, but since he wasn't close with Lynn, he didn't dare ask directly. He glanced at Roxanne Lin, who just shook her head, clearly having no idea.
"I think it's called 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall.' It's super famous! All the big restaurants have it! Should we go?"
Lynn pressed her mistress for a decision, looking like someone not to be trifled with even at home. Though just a maid, her status was clearly high.
Lily glanced at Evan and Roxanne. "What do you two think?"
"Let's go. I've never tried this 'Buddha Jumps Over the Wall' either. Since we're here, it'd be a shame to miss out. Besides, once we're in Heavenly Dragon Academy, we won't get the chance."
Roxanne smiled as she spoke, clearly tempted by the dish—just hearing the name was enough to pique her interest.
Evan couldn't help but chuckle to himself. "Who would've thought Roxanne was a secret foodie? Rare indeed!"
Soon, the group arrived at a restaurant called The Savory Loft.
A waiter spotted them from afar and hurried over to greet them:
"Welcome, honored guests! The Savory Loft is the largest and finest restaurant in Phoenix City. We have three floors: the first floor is very affordable, about five Spirit Stones.
The second floor costs at least twenty Spirit Stones, and the third floor starts at fifty. Which floor would you like to dine on?"
With years of experience sizing up people, the waiter could tell from Evan Chu, Lily Tang, and the others' clothes that they were wealthy.
Guests like these had to be served with extra care—a single tip could easily cover a month's wages.
"Roxanne, which floor should we go to?" Evan asked, feeling a bit guilty for neglecting her since Lily showed up.
Roxanne caught Evan's questioning look and smiled. She told the waiter, "Let's take the second floor. Bring out several of your signature dishes—and don't forget Buddha Jumps Over the Wall!"
"Certainly, honored guests. Please follow me," the waiter said, leading the way upstairs.
The first floor was already packed with diners eating and drinking. It was noisy, but for such a fancy restaurant, the atmosphere still felt refined.
"You must be first-time visitors to White Tiger City. Otherwise, you'd already know our house rules!" the waiter said after showing them to the second floor.
"Rules? What rules? Even eating here has rules? That's just ridiculous!" Lynn Zhu snapped, clearly annoyed.
Realizing he'd offended them, the waiter quickly apologized with a smile:
"Please don't be upset, honored guests. I just meant the rules for ordering Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. It's famous all around White Tiger City—you have to reserve it in advance."
Evan was surprised. He'd never heard of needing a reservation just to eat a dish. "Why do you need to reserve it? Isn't it just food?"
"You may not know, but Buddha Jumps Over the Wall is famous because of its unique ingredients and cooking methods.
The main ingredient must be a second-tier Silkwind Rat. These magical beasts are extremely rare and tiny—each one only makes a single serving of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall. Sometimes, it takes days just to find one," the waiter explained nonstop.
"So the dish must be expensive, right? But it's just second-tier beast meat—is it really worth all this fuss? You even need a reservation?"
Lily asked immediately. She'd eaten plenty of magical beast meat at home, and this so-called Silkwind Rat was only second-tier—how much energy could it really have?
"Oh, it's definitely pricey. But the Silkwind Rat is different from other magical beasts—it's wind-attribute, and the strangest thing is, it doesn't have a monster core.
Its body is where all its energy gathers. So eating its meat is basically like absorbing the energy of its monster core.
Wind-attribute energy is incredibly rare—not only does it boost martial skill speed, it also greatly increases a cultivator's strength."
