Another Suitor for Julia Yu

1/4/2026

Kevin Wang looked embarrassed. "No worries, I'll go make you guys some coffee—I'm a pro at it, trust me."

With that, Kevin dashed inside.

Looks like he knew this blind date was a bust.

Julia Yu sat across from Lisa Li, her face blank. "You asked me to set you up, and now you react like this. Are you sure you want to keep going? If you're really not into it, I doubt Mr. Mo would force you. My vacation days are precious, and I don't want to waste them. If you don't mind, I'll just update Mr. Mo about what's going on!"

With that, Julia pulled out her phone, ready to call.

Before she could even dial, Lisa snatched the phone away and hung up.

"What are you trying to do?" Julia's face darkened—her patience wasn't endless.

"Nothing, really. It's just the guys you picked are way too low-class for me," Lisa drawled. "The ones before, maybe not top-tier, but at least they were heirs or something. Look at these—one's a new doctor's assistant, another runs some tiny coffee shop. Seriously, how did things get so shabby? Can't I say what I think?"

"So you think they're not rich enough?" Julia asked. "Why didn't you say so before? I definitely asked you."

"Tsk tsk, can't even handle a tiny thing like this. How do you expect to be Mo Zixin's chief assistant?" Lisa sneered. "Is this all Chief Yu can do?"

Julia took a deep breath. "Alright, you want someone loaded, right? I'll pick them for you!"

With that, Julia stood up, grabbed Lisa, and headed out. She told the waiter, "Could you let your boss know Miss Lisa has something else to do? We're heading out, but we can talk later if needed."

Lisa let Julia drag her out of the coffee shop, a wicked smile spreading across her face.

She was doing it on purpose.

Just looking for trouble.

Why should she be ruined while Julia gets promoted?

Is it really so satisfying to get ahead by stepping over her?

Then she'll wreck Julia's job!

Julia went through the blind date profiles again, tossing out all the promising middle-class candidates and digging up the files on those spoiled, washed-up rich kids.

Since this is what you wanted, Lisa, I'll make your wish come true!

Julia had a temper too!

The next round of blind dates—none of them were promising. They were all party animals, great at drinking and smoking, but not one could handle real business.

Most of those guys didn’t even want to be here, but their families pushed them into it, so they just showed up.

The arrogance on their faces was almost a perfect match for Lisa’s.

Heh, in that way, the two of them were a pretty good fit.

Julia arrived a bit late. By the time she got there, the blind date and Lisa were already sitting together, glaring at each other, neither backing down.

"Sorry I'm late," Julia said, stepping up with serious energy. "You two go ahead and talk."

The spoiled rich kid was about to snap at Julia, but one look from her shut him right up. Whatever he wanted to say just died in his throat.

Being Mo Zixin’s chief assistant meant you were a big deal.

Basically, it was like being the king's right-hand in a small country.

A spoiled rich kid like him wasn’t even in her league.

Julia even saying hi was more respect than he deserved.

The rich kid stewed for a bit, then finally asked Lisa, "Hey, you into cars?"

"No," Lisa replied, sounding bored.

"What about dice games?"

"Nope."

"Do you drink?"

"No."

"Then why are you even here on this blind date with me?..."

Before he could finish, someone suddenly rushed over, grabbed a bag, and walloped him right on the head. "You little punk, how dare you talk like that!"

Even Julia was startled.

What the heck was this?

"Mom? What are you doing? Why are you hitting me? There are people here!" the rich kid shrieked, making it clear who the woman was.

The woman quickly turned to Julia and said, "Chief Yu, I'm so sorry—really! My son just runs his mouth, but he's actually a good kid! He's sensible and listens!"

She kept pressing her son down, making him apologize.

Even though he was spoiled, he was good to his mom, so he mumbled, "Sorry."

Julia nodded. "If neither of you are interested, let's call it off for today."

Julia checked her watch. "Let's head to the next one."

"Wait!" Before Julia could leave, the woman blocked her way. "Chief Yu, please give him another chance! He's just immature—I'll teach him!"

But the rich kid just laughed. "Mom, look at these blind dates! If Chief Yu was my match, now that would be something. She's all about her career. If I married her, she could run the family business and I'd just chill..."

His mom quickly shut him up.

Julia pretended not to hear and got up to leave.

Lisa shot the rich kid a half-smile, then lazily followed Julia out.

"You little brat, what nonsense are you spouting!?" the woman snapped, smacking her son twice. "That's Mr. Mo's chief assistant! You think you could ever land her?"

"Why not?" the rich kid yelled. "I'm not so bad, right? Tall, fit, young—I'm only twenty-six! What's wrong with me? Chief Yu's single, isn't she? Why can't I go after her? Mom, did you even look at Lisa just now? She was so weird. You think I'd be interested in her? I’d have to be nuts!"

"You little rascal!" The woman burst into tears, crying and yelling at the same time.

Julia stood outside, pressed her car key, and the car chirped.

Julia got in the car. Lisa slid into the seat beside her. "Actually, that guy's not so bad."

"I don't see what's so great about him," Julia said coolly. "If he was, you wouldn't have been so cold earlier."

"That was then. Now I think he's alright," Lisa replied, stretching out the words.

Julia immediately sent the guy’s WeChat to Lisa. "If you think he's okay, you reach out yourself."

Lisa whipped out her phone and added him. "Want to chase after Julia? I can help you out."

He replied quickly, "Seriously?"

Lisa smirked. "Truer than pearls."

The spoiled rich kid Lisa went on a blind date with was named Bear Xiong. Yep, his surname was Xiong, and his given name was Xiong—Bear Xiong.

His name sounded tough, but in reality... he was a total wimp.

A literal weakling.

Skinny as a stick, all bones.

He was about 5'10", but probably weighed only 120 pounds.

"Hey, girl, why are you so nice helping me go after Chief Yu?" Bear Xiong messaged on WeChat.

Lisa glanced at Julia, who was driving, and replied, "She annoys me. Get her out of my hair, I'll finally have some peace."

"Heh, I take it back—you’re not so bad," Bear Xiong grinned. "Chief Yu is a powerhouse. My family needs a woman like her. If you make it happen, I'll owe you big time."

Lisa curled her lip. As if she cared about his so-called reward.

"Julia jogs every morning, usually six to seven, at Little Jing’an Park," Lisa said, betraying Julia without a second thought. "Sometimes she eats out, but she's on vacation, so breakfast's at home. Kid, you've got less than a month—whether you win or lose is up to you."

"Got it! Thanks, bro!" Bear Xiong grabbed the info and went to butter up his mom. "Mom, I’ll get you a great daughter-in-law. She’ll make money and take care of you!"

"You wish!" Mrs. Xiong rolled her eyes. "What decent girl would ever fall for you? Why can't you take your job seriously? If you did, you'd have a real girlfriend. This blind date was a gift from heaven, and you still blew it..."

Bear Xiong didn’t want to listen to his mom's nagging, so he made up an excuse and ran out.

Half an hour later, Bear Xiong showed up at a bar.

"Yo, Bear, you finally made it. You're late!" someone called out. "Xianxian's been waiting for you, getting anxious!"

"Bear, I've been waiting forever!" A young girl in a wild outfit slithered up to Bear Xiong like a water snake.

Bear Xiong never thought these girls dressed so badly before, but after seeing Julia's queenly vibe today, every woman here looked awful.

Just look at her.

A simple linen suit, just a pinky ring, and understated makeup—yet she looked elegant and classy.

Then look at these women with caked-on makeup—how did they end up so ugly?

"Go away, don’t cling to me!" Bear Xiong shoved Xianxian off. "With a face like that, how dare you get close to me?"

Xianxian's face fell.

Everyone stared at him in shock.

Bear Xiong perched on a car hood. "Guys, today I finally get what a real beauty is."

"Yo!" The guys whistled. "Bear, did you score today?"

"Let me tell you, my grandma forced me into a blind date today. At first, I didn't want to go. But guess what? I met a goddess—a real one! Her vibe, her presence, just one look and she could wipe the floor with all of you!" Bear Xiong said, still hyped. "I'm going to chase after that goddess."
