Your Character Is in Question

Everyone's attention was instantly drawn to the man's voice—Shawn Young was holding a small diamond, squinting under the light as he studied it carefully, looking as if he suspected the diamond fragments he'd picked up were all fake.

"Kid, what are you trying to do?" Damian Shi said coldly to Shawn Young, his face dark with irritation, the frustration in his chest nearly at its breaking point.

"Uh—Damian, are you sure these diamonds aren't fake?" Shawn Young completely ignored Damian Shi's sour expression and instead asked this rather pointless question.

"Hmph—I've never used fakes to fool people. Brat, this has nothing to do with you. Pick up your diamonds with your friend and get lost!" Damian Shi said coldly.

Before Shawn Young could reply, Minnie Wang had already lifted her head and said, "Oh, Damian, are you telling us to scram too? Is this place owned by the Shi family or something?"

Damian Shi was stunned, awkwardly replying, "Uh—Minnie, I-I didn't mean that. I just want that annoying kid and his friend to leave. They totally crashed this place!"

Minnie Wang snorted and said, "Damian, let me be clear: I'm with them. I invited both of these guys—they're my friends! They're not random gatecrashers, and they're definitely not the kind of rich brats who smash million-dollar diamond necklaces on the floor!"

"Minnie—could you not be so harsh? I honestly didn't know those two guys were your friends—" Damian Shi said, frowning.

"Oh? So if they weren't my friends, you'd already be rude to them?" Minnie Wang's pretty face turned cold as she asked.

Shawn Young shot back with a cold, sarcastic grin, "Oh? So just because you say it's real, it's real? I think this is just cheap plastic junk! I busted my ass trying to grab them, only to find out they're worthless. What a waste of effort—"

Damian Shi snarled, "If you don't believe me, check them right now! If they're real diamonds, I won't sue you for slander—but you gotta swallow every single one! You got the guts?"

Shawn Young grinned mischievously, "Heh—if they're real, then a broke guy like me swallowing them would be a good story! But what if they're fake? Wouldn't that mean you're outright lying to Miss Chang? How are you gonna explain that, Damian Shi?"

Damian Shi roared, his eyes practically shooting flames, "My diamond necklace is definitely not fake! Don’t even think about tricking me, punk!"

Shawn Young pressed, unfazed and still grinning, "Just saying, Damian Shi—you’re the most famous playboy in Nanning City. If these diamonds turn out to be fake, how will you face Miss Chang and all your adoring fans?"

Damian Shi shouted angrily, "Fine! If these diamonds are fake, then I must be blind! I'll apologize to Mei'er and everyone here, and admit the necklace is a fake! But right now, you little punk, it’s not your place to set me up. You’re just running your mouth because you know you’re screwed!"

Shawn Young kept smiling, shook his head, and opened his palm to show the diamonds. He sneered, "Really? Then let’s just test them and see if they’re real or not!"

Damian Shi scoffed, "Only a real jewelry expert can tell if a diamond is legit, or someone like me who deals with high-end gems all the time! You think it’s that easy, kid?"

Shawn Young raised an eyebrow, handed the diamonds over to Damian Shi, and grinned, "So, Damian Shi, you’re saying these are all real?"

Damian Shi snatched them up, picked out a small diamond and weighed it in his hand, then held it to the light. He gave Shawn a cold, smug smile and said, "Heh—these are genuine diamonds, punk. Get ready to swallow them!"

Shawn Young purposely sneered, "Oh? Just because you say they're real, they're real? I don't buy it! So what's the number one feature of a diamond, then?"

Damian Shi lectured coldly, "You uncultured bumpkin! You don't even know the basics—diamonds are the hardest natural substance on earth. If you don’t have special tools and cutting skills, you can’t turn them into jewelry!"

Shawn Young shrugged, "So, by your logic, diamonds are so tough that nobody could crush them by hand, right?"

Damian Shi said, looking at Shawn Young with disdain, "Of course! What a dumb question—even a kid knows you can't crush a diamond with just your hands!"

Shawn Young sneered, "Oh, really? Well, that makes testing them pretty easy! I’m telling you, these are fake—cheap plastic, I bet. If I squeeze hard enough, they'll break! Heh—"

Damian Shi snapped, shoving a diamond in Shawn’s face, "Bullshit—if you really can, crush one right now and show me!"

Shawn Young grabbed the diamond, pinched it between his fingers, and looked around. "I’m not just talking trash—watch this! If it’s fake, it’ll break with a squeeze! Everybody, pay attention!"

With a quiet grunt, Shawn Young suddenly squeezed hard—"CRACK!!"—and, unbelievably, the sparkling little diamond shattered in his fingers, falling to the floor as a pile of powder!

Damian Shi was stunned, grabbing the other diamonds and inspecting them under the light. After confirming they looked fine, he tried to crush one himself, but it didn’t budge. He was left completely baffled.

Shawn Young just sneered, "Damian Shi, I told you these were all fakes! If you don’t believe me, give me the rest—I’ll crush every single one!"

Damian Shi was rattled, but Shawn’s words got under his skin. He shoved the rest of the diamonds into Shawn’s hands, growling, "Let’s see if you can crush all of them! Go on! Do it!"

Shawn Young sneered, grabbed the diamonds without hesitation, and, in front of everyone, pinched them one by one—"CRACK—CRACK—CRACK—" The crowd watched in shock as Shawn crushed over a dozen diamonds into powder!

Shawn Young dusted off his hands, shook his head, and looked at Damian Shi with a dramatic sigh, "Heh—told you! These things are so fake, crushing them is like squishing plastic foam! Damian Shi, you call yourself Nanning City's number one playboy, but you’re out here fooling people with cheap knockoffs! I'm seriously disappointed, man. Worst part is—you tried to scam a gorgeous lady like Miss Chang with fake bling! Shame on you! Your character is seriously questionable! I’m disgusted—"

"Of course! That’s a dumb question—even a grade schooler knows you can't crush a diamond by hand!" Damian Shi shot Shawn Young a look of pure contempt.

Shawn Young sneered, "Oh, really? Well, that makes it easy to test if these diamonds are real or not. I say they're fake—cheap plastic knockoffs. If I squeeze hard enough, they'll break! Heh—"

"Bullshit—if you really think you can, crush one right now and show me!" Damian Shi snapped, shoving a diamond in Shawn’s face.

"Fine! These things are obviously fake—" Shawn Young grabbed the diamond, pinched it between his fingers, and looked around.

"Huh? What? How—how is that possible?" Damian Shi was stunned, grabbing the other diamonds and inspecting them under the light. After confirming they looked fine, he tried to crush one himself, but it didn’t budge. He was left completely baffled.

Shawn Young just sneered, "Damian Shi, I told you these were all fakes! If you don’t believe me, give me the rest—I’ll crush every single one!"

"No way—I don’t believe it!" Damian Shi was rattled, but Shawn’s words got under his skin.
