Charles Chu was full of anticipation. If Jade Evans showed up, he could take down both Su Li and Jade Evans at once, and completely ruin Alexander Hayes’s reputation.
Given Alexander Hayes's temperament, if he could slaughter that shameless couple on the spot, it would be exactly what Charles Chu wanted!
After a while, another carriage stopped outside the teahouse. Out stepped a strikingly handsome man—none other than Professor Jade Evans.
When Professor Jade Evans came upstairs, Charles Chu heard the neighboring private room door open and close, and his subordinate gave him a signal. He knew Jade Evans had arrived!
Now that the shameless couple was here, Charles Chu was positively gleeful. He couldn't hide the smile at the corners of his eyes and mouth, and gestured to his subordinate.
Following the original plan, the subordinate delivered food and tea laced with aphrodisiac to Su Li and her companions in their private room.
Sitting opposite, Alexander Hayes took in every detail of Charles Chu’s expression and movements. He found it amusing, sipped his tea without betraying emotion, and waited to see what kind of farce Charles Chu would put on.
After the time it takes to burn an incense stick, faint but unmistakable sounds of a woman's pleasure came from the neighboring room—soft, teasing, like a cat's paw scratching at one's heart. Anyone could tell it was the sound of lovers.
Charles Chu was ecstatic. He thought to himself, the drug he used was specially made by the royal palace of Chu—its effects were unrivaled. Even a god couldn't resist; once ingested, they'd lose all reason and crave only pleasure.
Alexander Hayes obviously noticed the sounds from next door, listening intently with a furrowed brow.
Charles Chu feigned outrage, his face darkening as he snapped, "This teahouse is a place of refinement! How could someone in the next room be so depraved and disturb our enjoyment, mine and Prince Alexander’s? Prince Alexander, don’t be upset—I'll go teach those shameless lovers a lesson!"
With that, Charles Chu strode toward the door, motioning for Alexander Hayes to join him.
Alexander Hayes followed with a faint smile. Charles Chu, thrilled that his plan was working perfectly, burst out, "In broad daylight, you two shameless lovers are brazenly indulging yourselves in a teahouse—have you no shame?"
As he spoke, Charles Chu kicked the door open and rushed inside, shouting, "So it’s Princess Consort of Qin and Su—eh?"
Inside, Lily Evans was calmly sipping tea. Beside her sat Bella Bell and Lola.
Lola’s wrist was sprained, and Bella Bell was massaging it with medicinal wine. When Charles Chu suddenly barged in, Bella Bell’s eyes widened in outrage: "This is my lady’s private room! How dare you barge in!"
Charles Chu stared dumbfounded at the three women in the room.
Something was off. It was supposed to be Su Li, her maid, and Jade Evans—three people. But now it was Su Li and two maids—three women!
Behind him, Alexander Hayes’s voice sounded cool and unhurried: "Crown Prince of Chu, you’ve barged into my consort’s room. If you can’t give me a proper explanation, I won’t let this go."
Stunned by this sudden turn, Charles Chu searched the room frantically, saying to Alexander Hayes, "Prince Alexander, Su Li’s lover is hiding here! I’ll find him!"
"Crown Prince of Chu, you can eat whatever you like, but you can’t say whatever you please. I’m just here with my two maids for tea—how did you turn that into a secret tryst? I’m so wronged, Prince Alexander, you must stand up for me!" Lily Evans replied sweetly.
At this point, Alexander Hayes was glaring at Charles Chu as if he could eat him alive. No man would be happy to hear someone accuse his wife of cheating.
Seeing Alexander Hayes’s darkening expression, Charles Chu grew nervous and searched the room even more desperately—even looking under the bed. But Jade Evans was nowhere to be found.
Charles Chu was completely dumbfounded. Jade Evans had clearly entered the room—so where had he gone?
