Lynn Is Injured

1/19/2026

Transforming her body into a massive black longsword in an instant—this was something Evan Chu had never witnessed before. But after experiencing so many bizarre events, he was no longer easily surprised.

A horrific scream burst from the assassin’s mouth as the black giant sword pierced through his body, shredding him to powder in an instant.

After passing through his body, the black giant sword crashed to the ground, and gradually, Lynn’s figure began to reappear.

At this moment, Lynn was half-kneeling on the ground, blood constantly pouring from her mouth—she was clearly gravely wounded. Evan panicked and rushed toward her immediately.

But after just two steps, a wave of dizziness swept through his mind and he collapsed to the ground, feeling utterly drained—as if all the strength in his body had been sucked dry.

Just then, Gavin Wei—who’d been hiding at a distance—ran over. He’d clearly seen Evan Chu kill the female assassin, but even now he couldn’t figure out how Evan, who’d been run through the heart, was somehow completely fine and had instead pierced his opponent’s heart.

Evan Chu managed to sit up, but no matter how he tried, he couldn’t stand. Lynn, seeing Evan’s current state, endured the intense pain from her injuries and slowly walked toward him.

Once Gavin Wei reached Evan’s side, he immediately asked, “Boss Evan, what happened to you? Are you hurt?” As he spoke, he deliberately checked Evan’s chest—only to find no sign of any wound.

“Did I imagine it? Was it all an illusion? That can’t be! What on earth just happened?” Gavin muttered to himself, bewildered.

“You really know how to hide, huh? I almost kicked the bucket, and you only come out now? Not cool, man!” Evan said with a bitter smile.

"Evan, I wanted to help you too, but those people were so strong—I couldn't move at all, like my body just wouldn't listen. I could only watch as you got stabbed through the chest right in front of me," Gavin blurted out.

"You sure have some nerve, kid. Not coming out to help, and you even have an excuse for it? Seriously, I must be cursed to get a teammate like you!" Evan shot Gavin a glare as he spoke.

"Evan, I... I..." Gavin stammered, unable to explain himself.

"Don't worry about it. I was just joking. As long as you're safe, I'm relieved. Besides, if you'd rushed out back then, you'd probably be a cold corpse by now. Don't take it to heart—how could I ever blame you?" Evan forced a smile onto his face.

Just then, Lynn staggered over to Evan's side. He saw her body covered in blood, at least dozens of wounds, her face deathly pale—clearly gravely injured.

"Big brother, as long as you're okay, I can rest easy. That way, my mistress won't blame me either!" Lynn said, and then collapsed straight to the ground.

Evan was shocked to see Lynn fall. But right now, he could only speak—his body wouldn't move, and the weakness made him feel like dying.

"Gavin, hurry and check on her!" Evan shouted anxiously, his face full of worry.

Gavin stepped forward, lifted Lynn up, and checked her breathing with his finger. "Evan, she's not dead, just passed out," he said.

"No kidding! Of course I know she's not dead—I want you to check how badly she's hurt!" Evan snapped, feeling both frustrated and helpless. How did this guy suddenly get so clueless?

He quickly rummaged through his storage ring and pulled out a handful of spiritual herbs. These were the ones Goldwing had given him long ago—he remembered gulping one down at random and nearly killing himself, only to break through to the third layer of the Starforge Body by sheer dumb luck.

Evan didn’t recognize most of these herbs. He was just about to ask Luna which one would help Lynn the most when Gavin Wei suddenly exclaimed, "Whoa! Evan, you’ve got so many spiritual herbs!"

Before Evan could react, Gavin dashed over—dumping Lynn right onto the ground. The guy looked like a cat spotting a mouse, eyes shining with hungry excitement.

"Hey, could you maybe calm down? Lynn’s seriously hurt and you just dropped her like that. Are you out of your mind?" Evan snapped, frustration flaring. If he had the strength, he’d have smacked Gavin upside the head—this was just reckless.

"Sorry, Evan! I just got excited seeing all these herbs and couldn’t help myself," Gavin said, looking embarrassed and a little guilty under Evan’s glare.

"You actually know these herbs?" Evan asked, sensing something unusual about Gavin’s reaction.

"Of course I do! I mean, there are a lot I’ve never seen before, but I’ve always had this weird knack for recognizing herbs and knowing their properties, like it’s all just imprinted in my brain since birth." Gavin replied earnestly. Evan could tell he wasn’t lying.

Evan had no explanation for Gavin’s talent, but a wild thought crossed his mind—could this guy be the reincarnation of some ancient alchemist? If so, that was just crazy.

He quickly refocused and asked, "Out of all these herbs, which one will help Lynn’s injuries the most?"

Gavin glanced over Evan’s handful of herbs. "Two are for healing, one’s for boosting strength, and two are special ingredients that need to be stewed over a flame before you can use them."

"Just tell me which ones will actually heal her, will you? Why do you have to ramble so much?" Evan barked, clearly annoyed—this guy was seriously long-winded.

"Then hurry up and give it to her! What are you waiting for?" Evan urged, his anxiety spiking.

"Evan, I want to, but Lynn’s already unconscious—she can’t even open her mouth, and even if she could, she wouldn’t be able to swallow. What do you expect me to do?" Gavin protested, looking completely innocent.

Evan hadn’t thought of that at all—his worry had made him forget. As he struggled for a solution, Gavin piped up, "Actually, I might have an idea, but it’ll be a bit of trouble for you."

"What is it? Spit it out already! How am I supposed to deal with you?" Evan demanded, half-exasperated, half-anxious.

"It’s actually pretty simple—you chew up the Spirit Cloud Herb, then feed it to Lynn mouth-to-mouth. The only question is whether you’re willing to do it," Gavin said, staring at Evan, clearly worried he’d get yelled at again.

"What? Feed her by mouth?" Evan sputtered, mortified, as imaginary sweatdrops practically formed on his forehead...
