A Blade of Grass from Five Hundred Thousand Years Ago
"Grace Summers? Don't tell me you've never heard of her?"
"How could that be? The Holy Master lived two hundred thousand years ago!" Lily Bai protested, not believing it.
"So what if it was two hundred thousand years ago? I'm a blade of grass from five hundred thousand years ago!"
"Are you saying... you're five hundred thousand years old?"
"That's right!"
Lily Bai: "So it took five hundred thousand years just to grow into a little kid?"
"I was malnourished! Severely malnourished," Bones said. "Back when I was in the Spirit Alliance, they wouldn't let me absorb other people's Divine Power whenever I wanted. I was always starving! If I hadn't moved here, I probably would've starved to death by now."
Lily Bai: "..."
"If you don't believe me, ask your husband." Bones pointed at Damian Black.
Damian Black stood up with a blank expression. "Alright, let's go home."
Bones: "Take care, then!"
Damian Black left with Lily Bai.
As they walked, Damian received Bones's telepathic message: "You're seriously lame, man. The prey's delivered right to your mouth and you still won't eat?"
Damian Black acted like he hadn't heard, keeping his face blank and calm as ever.
......
Once outside, Lily Bai finally realized where they were.
Last time, when she helped Azure Flame remove a talisman, she came to this mountain.
On the mountain, there was an estate called White Cloud Manor, protected by an incredibly powerful array.
There was also a vine at the mountain gate that nearly drained Lily Bai dry.
Now, they were right inside White Cloud Manor.
Lily Bai examined the array here again. Drawing on the power of the Dragon's Nexus, it perfectly fused several formations together—seriously, it was flawless.
"Who set up this array?" Lily Bai asked Damian Black. "It's incredible."
Damian Black hesitated for a long moment. "I don't know either."
"You don't know? Didn't Bones just say this is your house? He even joked about paying rent and all that..."
"White Cloud Manor already had the array when I took it over."
"Oh..."
......
Once she got back, Lily Bai tore off all the gauze, took a deep breath, and braced herself to look in the mirror.
There was a bit of green ointment on her face, but other than that, everything was back to normal.
Once again, Lily Bai was that dazzling beauty whose smile could make flowers bloom and bow.
Lily Bai was overjoyed.
Girls love being pretty, and she's no exception.
Her previous appearance really scared her.
Happily, she washed her face and tidied herself up. Lily Bai couldn't help but remember Bones teasing that Damian Black was her husband.
A blush crept onto her cheeks.
Today, when the Black-Kiss Beast spat poison fire, Damian Black shielded her in his arms.
He even wiped her tears when she cried.
So gentle...
And when Bones called him her husband, he didn't even deny it...
Smiling, Lily Bai took out the last thing she bought from her Storage Pouch—a black-gold bone Signet Ring.
Seeing it now, she felt this was perfect for Damian Black.
She took out her talisman brush and began inscribing runes onto it.
Once she finished, she carefully cleaned it until it was spotless, then found a pretty box to pack it in.
Then, she took the box to look for Damian Black.
When she arrived, Damian Black was resting on the couch.
As Lily Bai entered, Skye gently draped a thin blanket over him.
His movements were incredibly gentle.
If Skye weren't a man, Lily Bai would almost think he was Damian's wife...
Skye pointed to a seat, signaling her to sit.
Lily Bai held the box, unsure whether to approach or wait.
Just then, Damian Black woke up and looked at her with a hint of lazy indifference. "What are you here for?"
"My face is healed," Lily Bai said.
