"You only got lucky with the low score round, but now it’s all about the highest roll. Six dice—let’s see how you could possibly get a number bigger than thirty-six!" Gavin Guan was riding high, clearly eager to vent all his earlier frustration.
He was already at the end of his patience with this kid in front of him.
Losing face again and again in front of Selina Shi was enough to drive Gavin Guan up the wall.
"Go on! If you’ve got the guts, roll a number bigger than thirty-six! Ha!" The scrawny guy was beaming again, staring at Evan Lin like he was already doomed.
Selina Shi’s brows knit slightly. She glanced at Evan Lin’s calm, confident look, and somehow felt reassured.
"You got this round?" Selina asked.
"It’s a sure win." Evan Lin smiled.
Seeing Evan Lin so sure of himself, Gavin Guan was a little shaken inside, but quickly steadied himself. "A sure win, huh? Then let’s see exactly how you plan to win!"
"Lose this round and you’ll have to take your pants off. Get ready."
A playful grin crept onto Evan Lin’s lips, his eyes glinting behind his sunglasses.
Gavin Guan’s face twitched with discomfort. He drew a deep breath, forcing himself to calm down.
Evan Lin said no more. He picked up the dice cup and swept it swiftly across the table, gathering all six dice inside.
Everyone watched as Evan’s wrist flicked, the dice cup arcing through the air, before he slammed it down onto the table with a thud.
"Done." Evan Lin looked at Gavin Guan, face completely calm.
"What do you think the dice show inside?"
"No clue. I feel like he’s got zero chance, but somehow, maybe he’ll pull off a miracle."
The people nearby all looked at the dice cup with curiosity, trying to see through it.
Just as Evan Lin reached out to lift the cup, Selina Shi’s hand gently pressed down on the back of his.
Her palm was soft and steady, with a faint, pleasant scent.
Selina Shi looked across at Gavin Guan, and said, "Let’s call it a day."
"End it here?"
Gavin Guan's eyes flashed with a hint of ruthlessness.
Right now, he'd already lost his shirt and his socks. No matter how hard Gavin racked his brain, he couldn't figure out how he could possibly lose this round—yet now Selina Shi was suddenly saying to end it?
"Selina, ending it now is way too early. Besides, this guy you brought along looks like a gambling pro. So no way."
Gavin shook his head, then glanced at Evan Lin, his eyes lingering on Selina's hand resting on Evan's. Jealousy flickered in Gavin's gaze. "Since you're already done shaking, let's see you lift the cup. Show us what number you're pulling out to beat me!"
Gavin grinned wide.
As long as he could win this round, all he'd have to do was keep up the same score and the same rules, and he'd be untouchable!
That way, Gavin could easily make Evan lose everything!
Thinking of this, Gavin felt a rush of revenge—his gaze toward Evan grew even colder.
"I'll grant your wish."
Evan nodded.
Selina let out a sigh and released Evan's hand.
As Evan lifted the dice cup, everyone around froze for a second.
"Six sixes, and an extra one?"
Someone stared and couldn't help blurting out in shock.
"No way!" Gavin slammed the table, his face twisting with rage as he shouted, body trembling, eyes locked on the dice cup in front of Evan!
"This kid actually rolled thirty-seven points with six dice!"
"Holy crap! I’ve never seen anything like this—who knew dice could be played like that?"
Everyone looked stunned, clicking their tongues in amazement.
Evan's expression stayed calm. Selina propped her chin with one hand, gently shook her head, and gave a wry little smile. At this point, she honestly couldn't tell if bringing Evan here was a good thing or a disaster.
"You got thirty-six, I got thirty-seven—just one point higher."
Evan looked at Gavin, voice calm: "I win. Time to take off your pants."
As soon as Evan spoke, every eye locked onto Gavin, who stood there trembling, face pale as a ghost.
Right now, Gavin's fists were clenched tight. All the rich kids from Oceanport City nearby stayed dead silent, their faces looking pretty ugly.
"You gotta be kidding me! Cheater!"
Gavin shouted furiously, pointing at Evan: "We’re supposed to play with six dice! How’d you end up with an extra one?"
Before Gavin could finish, a man in his forties shook his head and spoke up: "He didn’t cheat. There are still six dice in the cup. He just used the force of the dice colliding to split one die into two halves—one side showing six, the other showing one. That’s where the extra point came from."
"And he never cheated from start to finish. Everything was within the rules. In dice games, you add up all the visible faces. So by the book, this young guy won fair and square."
The man looked impressed. After speaking, he walked straight up to Evan, smiled, and handed over a gold-embossed business card.
"Young man, your gambling skills are top-notch. Ever thought about coming to Macao to play?"
This guy had serious presence—clearly no ordinary figure.
He wore a polite, confident smile as he held out the card. Evan didn’t bother taking it, but Selina grabbed it instead.
She glanced at it.
The card was simple—just a name and a number.
"Quincy Qiu?"
Selina read the name, murmured it under her breath, and instantly frowned, shooting a wary look at the man.
But some people nearby heard the name, and their faces changed dramatically. They all went silent, like they'd remembered something terrifying.
"Not interested." Evan yawned, not even bothering to look.
Quincy Qiu wasn’t offended. He just nodded. "If you ever change your mind, give me a call."
"I've got some other business today, so I’ll take my leave."
Quincy Qiu let out a hearty laugh, then turned and left without hesitation.
As he walked out of the casino, Evan raised an eyebrow, keenly sensing several tough-looking guys tailing him—probably bodyguards.
Evan couldn’t care less.
He just stared calmly at Gavin, who was still in total disbelief, and said coolly, "You gonna take 'em off yourself, or do you need me to help?"
