"Damn it!" Roxy Shangguan stamped her foot and glared angrily at Quentin Hua, then barked, "Xiao Yi, Xiao Er, guard my room. Don't let a certain someone in!" As she spoke, she shoved Quentin Hua out the door!
Quentin Hua stared at the tightly closed door, on the verge of tears—he couldn't even enjoy a hug or a kiss anymore!
"Sect Master, you spoil her too much!" Irene Yi frowned at the closed door, feeling indignant on Quentin Hua's behalf.
Quentin Hua's face darkened, his voice cold: "Irene, you've crossed the line!"
Irene bit her lip and lowered her head. She had always known that whenever it came to Roxy Shangguan, the Sect Master would always take her side, no matter how unreasonable Roxy might be. Still, Irene found it hard to accept.
Or maybe it was just jealousy.
The Sect Master practically worshiped Roxy Shangguan, which only made her more willful and bold. She never considered his feelings, nor bothered to save his dignity. After all, he was the master of the Lotus Sect, yet now even his disciples secretly treated him as a laughingstock during meals. Irene simply couldn't stand it.
She couldn't understand why, with Roxy Shangguan being so headstrong, the Sect Master still spoiled her so relentlessly!
"You may leave now."
Quentin Hua's attitude toward Irene Yi grew increasingly cold. He simply couldn't tolerate anyone criticizing Roxy Shangguan, yet Irene always managed to cross that line.
"Yes!"
Once Irene Yi left, Quentin Hua began knocking on the door, pitifully pleading, "Roxy... It's cold out here. Can I come in and sleep?"
"Sleep? It's still early, nowhere near sunset!"
Quentin Hua persisted, "A nap!"
"Oh..." Roxy Shangguan sipped her tea inside, glancing lazily out the window. "There's a blazing sun overhead—how could you possibly be cold?"
Quentin Hua looked up, full of resentment. Sun, oh sun, why did you have to come out right now?
Just as Quentin Hua was about to try again, the door suddenly opened. Roxy Shangguan looked at him and said, "I've thought it over..."
Afraid she might change her mind, Quentin Hua quickly entered, shut the door behind him, and pulled Roxy to sit down before asking, "What have you decided?"
Roxy Shangguan said seriously, "Fine, I'll marry you. But you can't forbid me from leaving the mountain, and you can't force me to come back!" Roxy was never one to sit still. If anyone else tried to control her, she'd have taught them a lesson. But since it was Quentin Hua, could she really hit him? She'd only end up feeling bad herself!
Quentin Hua pulled her onto his lap and sighed, "Alright!" First, they'd get married. As for anyone daring to covet her, he had plenty of ways to deal with them.
Roxy Shangguan agreed to marry him, but Quentin Hua didn't seem overly excited, as if he'd expected this outcome all along.
Roxy nestled into his arms and said, "But we have to wait for my parents to come back, and Aunt Susie too. I haven't seen her in ages. Now that she can leave Snowvale, we must wait for her to return!"
Back when Susie Yun was about to give birth, Morgan Shangguan discovered her child's ghost aura was too strong, so Susie and Ryan Ouyang were sent to Snowvale. The pure air of Snowpeak Mountain helped suppress the ghost aura, unlike the outside world. For years, Susie and Ryan never left Snowvale. Now that Roxy Shangguan was of age, Susie's child should be able to control their ghost aura, so they could finally leave the mountain!
Roxy also wanted to say that, before all that, she could go down the mountain and have some fun. After all, her parents were always traveling, and who knew what country they were in now! Waiting for them to return certainly wouldn't be a matter of just ten days or half a month.
Unexpectedly, Quentin Hua smiled and said, "Don't worry, in ten days at most, everyone who needs to return will be back!"
"What?" Roxy Shangguan sat up abruptly, glaring at him. "You planned this all along, didn't you?"
He'd suddenly brought her back, which already seemed suspicious. Although this wasn't the first time, this time felt especially forced. That's why she'd been sulking—now it was clear he had ulterior motives!
Quentin Hua grinned, "You've come of age. It's time for us to get married!"
"I never said I'd marry you!" Roxy muttered, frustrated. This was like being forced onto the stage!
She wondered if Quentin Hua was afraid she'd refuse, so he went ahead with his plan. Once everyone was back, she wouldn't be able to say no!
Marrying Quentin Hua was only a matter of time for her. She wouldn't refuse him just because of a little sulking, especially with her parents coming back. She couldn't possibly let them make the trip for nothing. Clearly, Quentin Hua was counting on this!
Though Roxy Shangguan often quarreled with Quentin Hua, she knew her limits. She wasn't as willful as she seemed—it was only because the person was Quentin Hua that she'd tease and fuss, but it was always harmless. She knew when to stop.
Roxy snorted, then suddenly hooked her arms around Quentin Hua's neck and kissed him. Quentin Hua froze for a moment, having expected her to be angry!
He was only stunned for a second before regaining his composure and taking the lead.
Their passionate kiss heated the air. Quentin Hua carried Roxy Shangguan to the soft bed. Soon, the two were baring their souls to each other. Just as Quentin Hua was about to take things further, Roxy suddenly pushed him away and said, "Brother said, before marriage you can't take advantage of me!"
Those infuriating words made Quentin Hua even more exasperated. Damn Ethan Gray—he wouldn't let him off!
He'd remember this grudge. Once Ethan Gray found his other half, Quentin would make sure to get his revenge!
"Roxy..." Quentin Hua held her tightly, refusing to let go, kissing her flushed cheeks as he whispered hoarsely, "We'll be married soon. What difference does a little time make? Can you really bear to see me suffer? We've been together for so many years, and I've always known you were the one. No matter what, you can't escape me!"
