Master Control Button

12/2/2025

For the first time ever, people on this continent were witnessing an electric light bulb. The female workers craned their necks, eyes wide with amazement, and couldn't stop exclaiming, "Wow! Wow!"

Princess Jade Hayes smiled as she watched everyone’s astonished faces. Today it was just electric looms and light bulbs, but she fully intended to introduce even more modern wonders to the Kingdom of Qin—changing the fate of this backward continent, one invention at a time.

The electric bulb was a marvel to the female workers. This round little thing shone far brighter than any candle, didn’t get hot, and couldn’t be knocked over to start a fire. It was, in their eyes, truly a miracle!

"Now you can work without a single worry," Princess Jade Hayes reassured the workers, her smile warm and confident.

The female workers were thrilled. "Rest assured, Chancellor Evans! We’ll finish the job and get this shipment done!"

Seeing their enthusiasm, Princess Jade Hayes felt deeply gratified. She walked down from the second floor and stopped in front of a large piece of equipment. Lifting its cover, she addressed the workers: "This is the heart that controls all the looms. It must never get wet. It’s been raining a lot lately, so please be extra careful to protect this device—especially this button."

As she spoke, Princess Jade Hayes pointed to a round metal button on the machine. "Whatever you do, do not let water touch this button. If it gets wet and you press it, every machine will break down. Did everyone get that?"

"Crystal clear!" the female workers chorused, their voices ringing in lively unison.

Sean Hayes watched anxiously from the sidelines, thinking, How could Princess Jade Hayes reveal something so crucial to the workers?

He was wracked with worry. If a saboteur were lurking among the workers, wouldn’t this be the perfect opportunity to destroy everything?

Greta, the saboteur, had been deeply frustrated that her last attempt at sabotage had failed. But now, hearing Princess Jade Hayes’s warning, her eyes lit up with excitement.

So that button was the factory’s Achilles heel! Greta grinned, her mind already racing with schemes.

She glanced at the supervisor, who was busy assigning shifts. "Greta, you’ll take the night shift," he announced.

Greta could barely contain her delight. Night shift meant less supervision and more chances to make her move.

The supervisor finished organizing the workers, then left to check the storeroom. Greta’s lips curled into a sly smile as she began to hatch her plan.

Sean Hayes rushed over to Princess Jade Hayes, barely able to hide his agitation. "Why did you tell them about the button? If someone wanted to sabotage us, you’ve just handed them the key!"

Princess Jade Hayes met his gaze, her expression calm and unyielding. "Sometimes, Sean, you have to trust people. If you treat them like criminals, they’ll act like criminals. Give them responsibility, and you’ll see their true character."

Sean hesitated, torn between his instincts and Princess Jade Hayes’s unwavering confidence. For now, he could only watch—and hope she was right.
