They walked out from Southern Court Club.
Selina Wu stayed close beside Evan Lin, while Martin Wu's condition had improved significantly after Evan's simple treatment.
"If there's any business we can partner on in the future, remember to call me. I'll give you twenty percent!"
Calvin Zheng was the first to speak, looking at Evan Lin with genuine sincerity.
Before, no matter how much you begged, he'd only offer five percent at best. Now he's happy to give twenty—shows just how much Evan's status has risen in his eyes.
"Yeah, if you run into anything you can't handle, just say the word. If it's doable, we'll get it done for you."
Frank Bi nodded along, smiling.
Wanwan Sun, Grace Liu, Hannah Liu, and Gloria Rong—the girls—looked at Evan Lin with much kinder eyes than before.
For everyone present, today could be considered a pretty good ending.
At least, Allen Ju had finally broken free from Mia Liao's shadow.
"Where are you planning to go next? Still staying in Beijing for a while?"
Allen Ju asked, smiling. Though he looked a bit tired, there was much more calm in his expression. "Honestly, you really shocked me today."
"The people you defeated were from Nightstar."
Mentioning this, Allen Ju couldn't help but feel a bit emotional.
"I used to ask if you wanted to try Nightstar's assessment. You said no, so I figured you just weren't confident enough. But now it looks like you already passed Nightstar's test before, just didn't want to join."
Leon Lu coughed, looked at Evan Lin with a strange expression, hesitated, then couldn't help blurting out, "Man, I'm really curious—just how strong are you right now?"
"Those two just now, if I'm not mistaken, both had at least fourth-grade Vajra strength. But since they're from Nightstar, even top Oceanport Young Tigers like Shawn Shen and Shane Shen probably wouldn't be able to beat them."
"Before, when you defeated Shawn Shen and Shane Shen, I didn't think you were much stronger than them. But now..."
At this, Leon Lu stared at Evan Lin, and Wanwan Sun and the others fell silent, all watching Evan with curiosity.
"As for my strength, honestly, even I don't really know how strong I am."
Evan Lin shook his head.
Even Selina Wu, who had been holding his wrist the whole time, couldn't help but purse her lips at that answer.
"Haha, whatever! As long as we know you're a badass, that's enough!"
Martin Wu was straightforward—he threw an arm around Evan's shoulders. "Damn, hey, is it true what that girl said about you beating Grant Yuan?"
Martin Wu had remembered something and suddenly looked at Evan Lin, asking.
Selina Wu was stunned for a moment, then turned to Evan Lin, finally recalling what Lena Xu had mentioned.
"Yeah."
Seeing Evan Lin nod, Martin Wu's expression instantly became a bit more animated.
He stared at Evan Lin, sizing him up from head to toe, and smacked his lips. "How about it? Want to consider becoming an instructor for the Tiger Special Forces?"
"Our Tiger Special Forces could use more people. I don't have the final say, but I could have my grandpa put in a good word for you."
"Tiger Special Forces might not have the same prestige as Nightstar, but if you became an instructor there, even Nightstar would think twice before coming after you."
Martin Wu spoke sincerely. He meant what he said—after all, the Wu family's elder still has connections in Beijing. Otherwise, Martin and Selina wouldn't have grown up in the same courtyard as Allen Ju.
"It's not just your problem—don't worry, we'll all help you."
Frank Bi guaranteed it, full of confidence.
"Did you really cripple Nightstar's two operatives for good?"
Allen Ju hesitated for a moment, then asked.
When Evan Lin nodded, Allen Ju took a deep breath. "I need to head back for a bit. I'll do my best to smooth things over."
"Want to come with me? You could stay at my place for now."
"No need."
Seeing Evan Lin shake his head, Allen Ju didn't press the issue. Instead, he took out pen and paper and wrote down his number for Evan.
"If anything unexpected happens, just call me."
Allen Ju spoke seriously, giving plenty of reminders before he and Frank Bi's group finally left.
"They're off to make calls and arrange things. After all that drama tonight, I'm feeling hungry. You haven't eaten either, right? Let's grab some skewers together."
Martin Wu made it sound easy, but Evan Lin knew that Martin and his crew were rushing back to prepare for Nightstar's retaliation.
Evan Lin could have told them not to worry about it—after all, with his current strength, Nightstar's people aren't really a threat.
If there was any real danger, they'd have to call in someone from Moonshade or Hidden Dragon to deal with it.
From what Evan Lin had seen, most Nightstar operatives are at least fourth-grade Vajra. As for Moonshade, aside from the woman who called to recruit him, he hasn't had much contact yet.
Hidden Dragon, though—that organization sits above both Nightstar and Moonshade, and is even more mysterious.
"Hey, do you know if there's a famous Green-Robe Swordsman in Beijing?"
Walking the streets of Beijing at night, the wind felt a bit chilly. Cars and people passed by, and with Frank Bi's group gone, things were quieter, less noisy.
Selina Wu had finally let go of Evan Lin's hand. Martin Wu glanced around, found a barbecue place, and pushed the door open.
"Green-Robe Swordsman?"
Once inside, Martin Wu shook his head. "Come on, it's the modern era—who'd be a Green-Robe Swordsman nowadays?"
"Still, Beijing's got plenty of hidden talents. Some experts are just unconventional. If there really was a swordsman who liked wearing green robes, it wouldn't be that strange."
Over barbecue and drinks, Martin Wu talked a lot about his experiences in the Tiger Special Forces.
"Hey, let me tell you, our Jinnan Military District made a bit of a splash."
"I only got into the official Tiger Special Forces because five seniors died in action ahead of me."
"They were from the Jinnan Military District—heard they were killed by a Pointing-to-Mystery expert. Our squad didn't have anyone like that, so we had to ask Nightstar for help."
"But guess what happened next?"
At this, Martin Wu took a big gulp of beer, slammed the glass down on the table, his face full of excitement.
"What happened?"
Evan Lin followed up, prompting him to continue.
"The Jinnan Military District sent a super expert—just crushed that damn Pointing-to-Mystery guy!"
