A Saint Maiden’s Beauty, Rare in All the Realms

Those two had grown used to seeing him act meek and obedient—they’d never seen him like this before.

The man in red instantly grabbed his collar. "Darren Xuan! Who do you think you’re talking to? Two days at Drake Abyss and a stint in the Divine Generals’ Camp, and now you’ve forgotten your own surname?"

"Big brother, let me go first!" Darren snapped, frustrated.

"And if I don’t, what then?" The man in red raised his eyebrow. "You dare talk back to us for a woman? What, is she your lover now?"

"Shut up!" Darren roared. "I won’t let you insult her!"

Smack! The man in red slapped Darren hard across the face. "You dare tell me to shut up? You little wild seed! Gotten some backbone, have you?"

Darren drew his sword and swung at him. "Get lost, both of you! Or I’ll spill your blood right here!"

The three of them tangled together in a fierce fight.

Those two were Divine Race as well.

Lucy Luan remembered Adrian Drake mentioning that all of Darren’s legitimate older siblings had true Divine Veins.

These two were probably his two legitimate older brothers.

Their behavior was honestly disappointing.

Darren was getting battered, clearly about to lose.

Lucy Luan summoned Entwined Heart and began to play.

Entwined Heart’s sonic attack was seriously powerful.

She only played a few notes, and both of them were clutching their ears, howling in agony.

Lucy watched calmly as they coughed up blood several times, then lowered Entwined Heart.

Dressed in snow-white robes, she radiated divine might.

Her bearing was elegant, her beauty absolutely peerless.

The two brothers bolted, scared out of their wits.

Darren Xuan flew over, looking battered and ashamed. "I’m sorry, Divine Lady Lucia. That was a disgraceful scene."

"Are they your brothers?" Lucy asked.

"Yes! The one in red is my eldest brother, Marcus Xuan. The one in yellow is my second brother, Victor Xuan. I’m truly sorry—they were way out of line, and I apologize on their behalf!" He bowed deeply.

Then Lucy saw a long, bleeding gash across his back.

Lucy frowned. "You’re hurt. Let’s go back to Returning Rainbow Mountain so I can bandage you up."

"No." He shook his head. "I don’t want my mother to know."

"Then let’s do it by the lakeshore." There was a lake at the foot of Returning Rainbow Mountain.

Darren nodded, and the two of them landed by the lake.

Lucy took out some hemostatic powder, sprinkled it on his wound, and wrapped it with a strip of cloth. "This is just to stop the bleeding for now. When we get back, I’ll have Adrian Drake treat you properly."

Darren turned to her, deeply moved and grateful. "Thank you, Divine Lady Lucia! You’ve shown such kindness to my mother and me—I have no idea how I can ever repay you!"

"Honestly, you could've just told them who I was from the start. Maybe they wouldn’t have dared to act out," Lucy said.

But Darren shook his head. "Divine Lady Lucia’s beauty is one in a million. Any man who sees you can’t forget you. I don’t want your name to become their gossip fodder—that’s disrespectful to you!"

Lucy glanced at him.

His striking eyes were full of respect for her, but also shadowed with worry and anger—enough to tug at anyone’s heart.

Lucy sighed and asked, "I just overheard them say you’re supposed to marry a princess?"

Darren’s face fell. He nodded. "The family’s already picking a date. I’ll probably have to marry her as soon as I’m out of the Divine Generals’ Camp."

"Well, congratulations in advance."

"Congratulations?" He gave a bitter laugh and shook his head. "Being a puppet, marrying someone I don’t even like—what’s there to congratulate?"

Lucy saw how troubled he looked and said, "If you don’t like the princess, you could just refuse! You and your mother could run away together. That wouldn’t be so bad, would it?"
