A Long Night

1/4/2026

Charles Yin, as expected, had no intention of resting in another room. After washing up, he lay directly on the bed.

Seeing Cecilia Gu still in a daze, a glimmer of mischief flashed in Charles Yin's eyes.

"Why are you still standing there? Not going to sleep?" Charles Yin lay there, his strong, lean body wrapped in the pure white blanket, exuding an indescribable allure.

Cecilia Gu could feel her ears burning red.

He definitely wasn't this undressed during the day!

Late at night... having to guard a naked handsome man...

"We came in a hurry, so only the master bedroom was tidied up. This house is mine, I have the right to sleep in any room." Charles Yin raised his brow, the glimmer in his long, narrow eyes was almost wicked as he said lightly to Cecilia Gu, "There isn't even a sofa here. If you don't care about the baby in your belly and insist on sleeping on the floor, I won't stop you!"

Sleep on the floor? Hmph, no way!

In a fit of pique, Cecilia Gu flopped down on the other side of the bed.

That's right, she's pregnant now, she definitely can't let herself suffer! She absolutely won't sleep on the floor!

Cecilia Gu couldn't shake the feeling that the atmosphere had suddenly turned a bit ambiguous. Something just felt off, so she turned her back to Charles Yin.

It was as if, so long as she couldn't see him, she could finally calm down.

Charles Yin was, as expected, perfectly well-behaved—he didn't cross any boundaries.

Seeing how disciplined Charles Yin was, Cecilia Gu couldn't help but feel a little indignant: Was she really that unremarkable? They were both lying here and he was totally unmoved?

Immediately, Cecilia Gu almost squashed that thought entirely.

Pfft, Cecilia Gu—are you actually hoping he'll make a move on you?

You're a pregnant woman right now!

She took a deep breath, forcing herself to clear Charles Yin from her mind.

But the more she tried to ignore the walking hormone dispenser behind her, the more she could hear every tiny sound and movement he made.

Ugh... this is so annoying!

After lying there for a while, Cecilia Gu found herself even less able to sleep. She turned over gently and saw Charles Yin still lying flat on his back, seemingly already asleep.

Well, he’s even calmer than I am.

What do I have to be so hung up about?

Cecilia Gu slowly closed her eyes. With her mind finally clear, she drifted off to sleep without even realizing it.

Listening to Cecilia Gu’s steady breathing, Charles Yin slowly opened his eyes and turned to look at her.

Under the moonlight, Cecilia Gu’s face was clean and fresh—none of that smudged, painted look from the afternoon. She looked much more pleasant now.

A glimmer danced at the corner of Charles Yin’s eyes. After lingering on Cecilia Gu’s face for a while, he finally reached out and pulled the sleeping Cecilia into his arms.

Yeah, this feels just right.

Maybe it was Cecilia Gu’s deep, peaceful sleep that was contagious, because Charles Yin soon drifted off as well.

So, as soon as daylight broke the next morning...

The moment Cecilia Gu opened her eyes, she was greeted by... Charles Yin's firm, muscular chest... his chest... his chest!

A jolt ran through Cecilia Gu, snapping her wide awake!

How did she end up falling asleep in Charles Yin’s arms?

She remembered clearly that she’d been sleeping on her own side...

Did she somehow roll over in her sleep?

Did she shamelessly throw herself into his arms last night?

Oh no, seriously...

That’s it, her reputation is ruined...

Cecilia Gu carefully lifted her head to sneak a glance at Charles Yin.

Thank goodness, thank goodness.

He was still asleep.

Carefully, Cecilia Gu scooted back, back, back... until she finally returned to her own spot. Only then did she let out a sigh of relief.

Lucky he didn’t wake up, or she’d never be able to explain herself!

She kept insisting she wasn’t interested in Charles Yin, yet she’d shamelessly snuggled into his arms in her sleep!

Who would ever believe that?

Seeing Charles Yin showing no signs of waking, Cecilia Gu tiptoed out of bed, grabbed her clothes, and carefully headed to the walk-in closet.

What Cecilia Gu didn’t know was that just as she left with her clothes, Charles Yin’s narrow eyes slowly opened, and the corner of his eye caught her sneaking into the closet like a thief.

This woman...

After Cecilia Gu finished changing in the closet, she heard the sound of running water outside. Looks like Charles Yin was awake too.

As soon as Cecilia Gu came out, she saw Assistant A coming over to help Charles Yin pick out his outfit.

"Good morning, Team Leader." Assistant A greeted Cecilia Gu politely.

"Morning." Cecilia Gu nodded.

Just then, Charles Yin came out of the bathroom, drying the water droplets from his hair.

"President Yin, which shirt would you like to wear today?" Assistant A asked dutifully.

Charles Yin’s eyes flickered. He pointed at the blue shirt Cecilia Gu had picked out for him and said, "That one."

Assistant A’s eyes nearly popped out of his head.

That shirt was clearly last year's style...

But Assistant A was a qualified assistant. Even though he was shocked inside, his face remained calm as he paired the shirt, watch, tie, belt, and shoes for Charles Yin.

Charles Yin changed quickly, and when he fastened his watch with a flourish, he was absolutely irresistible.

Cecilia Gu stood there awkwardly, not sure what to say or do.

She’d taken advantage of him all night—no wonder she felt so guilty!

"Aren’t you supposed to go shopping with Mona Mu today? Go early, come back early, and take a few more cards with you," Charles Yin said to Cecilia Gu without looking up. "I’ll have a driver assigned to you. Your own drivers are all in N City, and it’s inconvenient to be without a car in S City."

Cecilia Gu wondered why he was being so polite.

Oh, right—they still had to keep up the act!

Even though she’d offended the Korean president and his wife yesterday, the show must go on.

Cecilia Gu answered awkwardly, "Ah... got it..."

Just go already! Go! I’m so tense and uncomfortable when you’re home!

Every time I see you, I remember how I took advantage of you in my sleep last night!

Charles Yin glanced at Cecilia Gu as if by accident, then straightened his clothes and left with Assistant A.

Cecilia Gu finally breathed a sigh of relief once she watched Charles Yin leave.

"Young Madam, Young Master instructed that your breakfast will be ready soon," the butler said warmly from behind Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia Gu stiffened, then replied, "Got it."

The Yin family really does care about this child.

Right, last night he tolerated me taking advantage of him and didn’t push me away—probably because he was worried about the baby.

Fine, I’m benefiting from this baby yet again.

After breakfast, Cecilia Gu contacted Mona Mu, who had clearly been waiting for her for a long time.

Cecilia Gu didn’t dare keep Mona Mu waiting, so with the driver’s escort, she met up with her again.

Cecilia Gu sent the driver back, figuring she could just take a cab home later.

Having a driver around just felt weird.

Even after a whole night, Mona Mu still seemed unable to accept the fact in front of her: Charles Yin actually got married! And he’s about to be a dad!

Mona Mu crossed her arms and looked at the casually dressed Cecilia Gu. "I always thought Charles Yin would never get married. Who knew, right? He went all in—marriage and a baby! You’re something else! As the young madam of the Yin family, you sure know how to keep a low profile!"

Cecilia Gu wore a helpless expression. She hadn’t married Charles Yin for love—it was just... Well, better not to say it out loud.

It’s not exactly something to be proud of.

"Let’s go shopping! It’s my first time shopping in S City!" Cecilia Gu grabbed Mona Mu’s arm. "I’ll need your guidance if I get lost!"

Mona Mu shrugged. "Alright, let’s go. Since you’re a pregnant woman, we’ll chat as we shop."

Mona Mu had received a call from Charles Yin that morning, asking her to take good care of Cecilia Gu.

That call nearly made Mona Mu’s eyes pop out!

Was this really the Charles Yin she knew?

Looks like President Yin really does cherish his little wife!

Since President Yin personally called, Mona Mu definitely wasn’t going to make things hard for Cecilia Gu!

The two of them deliberately avoided talking about Charles Yin and chatted about fashion instead.

Mona Mu really was a fashion icon—Cecilia Gu could only listen quietly and barely got a word in.

Mona Mu was very considerate, always suggesting they sit and rest after walking for a bit.

Cecilia Gu felt Mona Mu’s care and was genuinely grateful, so their relationship quickly became much closer.

In just a couple of hours, they were already getting along like old friends.

Spotting a casual restaurant nearby, Mona Mu smiled and said, "Let’s sit there and take a break..."

Cecilia Gu was about to nod when she happened to glance toward the roadside.

That single glance froze Cecilia Gu in place!

It was the president’s wife!

Why was she here...?

Right at that moment, a car with out-of-town plates was frantically backing up. The president’s wife was looking down at her phone, completely unaware of the danger!

Oh no! The president’s wife is in danger!

"Wait here for me!" Cecilia Gu shoved her things into Mona Mu’s arms and ran toward the president’s wife!

"Hey, what are you—" Mona Mu didn’t have time to react before she saw Cecilia Gu rush to the middle-aged woman and push her out of the way!

The reckless driver crashed right into Cecilia Gu!

Caught off guard, Cecilia Gu fell hard to the ground!

"My stomach..." Cecilia Gu suddenly felt a sharp pain and cried out, "My baby..."
