Back in the Blue World, returning to this place again, Evan Yang felt a wave of nostalgia. Memories from those years were vivid before his eyes. "Boss, feeling nostalgic, huh?" Brocade grinned when he saw Evan's expression.
"Yeah, it's definitely a feeling that's hard to put into words," Evan said with a smile.
"I don't know what you went through, Boss, but for you to get where you are today, you must have experienced a lot," Brocade said with a chuckle.
Evan smiled. "A lot happened, that's for sure. Alright, let's go—take me to the place you mentioned."
Brocade nodded and led Evan away, heading for a cave entrance—the same place Brocade had come to last time. The two of them entered together.
Once they were down below, Evan saw the altar. The moment he laid eyes on it, his Soul-Devouring Divine Sword began to react strangely.
"What's wrong?" Evan asked, taking out the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword with a puzzled look.
The Soul-Devouring Divine Sword muttered something Evan couldn't understand. Frowning, he said, "Weird, the sword is acting really strange today."
Brocade furrowed his brow too, which made Evan even more curious about where this altar led.
He walked over to the altar, studied it for a while, then said, "The barrier behind this altar isn't simple. It could take quite a bit of time to break through. Wait here for me."
Brocade nodded. Evan watched the altar for a long while before finally getting to work.
Time slowly passed. Outside, several years went by—spring, summer, autumn, winter. The Yang Family's world-realm flourished, and they often slipped into the Immortal Realm to recruit people. Gradually, more and more people settled in the Yang Family's world-realm, drawn by its appeal.
Meanwhile, elsewhere, inside a hidden cave, two souls stood waiting anxiously. These were Elder Master Yang and his wife.
"Husband, do you think that person will come?" the woman asked.
Elder Master Yang replied, "He will. Last time, he had us go after Evan Yang. We didn't succeed, but at least we followed his instructions. He helped us, too—thanks to him, even though our bodies were destroyed, our souls could move freely. Otherwise, that brat Evan would have caught us long ago."
"I hope so. We lost our bodies this time, and still couldn't hurt Evan," the woman sighed.
Just then, a voice echoed, "You're here?"
A swirl of black smoke appeared, wearing a mask. The mask was etched with strange patterns, impossible to decipher.
"Emissary," Elder Master Yang greeted respectfully.
"What happened? Why did you destroy your bodies too?" the masked man asked, puzzled.
"Emissary, Evan Yang is too powerful. Even after destroying our bodies, we couldn't defeat him," Elder Master Yang replied awkwardly. The masked man laughed, "With your skills? You said you'd wipe him out, but even losing your bodies couldn't scratch him."
"Emissary, we did our best. If you give us more power, we can definitely do it," Elder Master Yang said.
"Alright, I get it. You've lost your bodies, I'll report it to those above. As for you two, eat these. The higher-ups know you can't handle Evan," the masked man said with a smile.
Elder Master Yang saw two shining pills placed before them and asked, "What's this?"
"These are soul transformation pills. You're just souls now—eat them, and your bodies will automatically reform, plus your strength will multiply!" the masked man grinned.
Elder Master Yang was overjoyed at this. "Thank you!"
He quickly ate one pill, and his wife took the other. After they consumed them, their bodies began to reform, and sure enough, their power increased greatly.
"With this power, I believe you'll be able to deal with Evan Yang much better. That's it—don't contact me unless it's important. I don't want Evan to discover my identity. I'm leaving." The black smoke laughed, then swept away and vanished.
"Husband, who are these people, really? Why are they so strange—able to come and go at will, travel through space, just appear out of nowhere?" The woman was growing wary of the group's bizarre abilities.
"Doesn't matter who they are. Anyone who's Evan Yang's enemy is our friend," Elder Master Yang said with a smile.
The woman nodded. "You're right. So what now?"
"Let's get used to these new bodies first. When the time is right, we'll go after Evan Yang," Elder Master Yang said with a cold laugh.
The woman nodded, and the two began to adapt to their new bodies.
Meanwhile, Evan Yang and Brocade spent several years working. One day, Evan smiled and said, "It's done."
Right after Evan spoke, a gap appeared in the barrier—just big enough for a person to pass through. Evan said to Brocade, "Let's go inside."
Evan led Brocade inside. The moment they entered, a wave of death aura hit them. It was eerily quiet—the death aura reminded Evan of the cave where he once fought Madam Serpent Dora for the Divine Pill Chapter, but this place was even more terrifying. At least there, some living creatures could be seen; here, not a single living thing existed.
When Evan and Brocade walked in, they were stunned by what they saw: graves—a massive graveyard. Evan glanced around; some tombstones were unmarked, others bore names and descriptions like 'Heavenly Dao powerhouse.'
"Boss, just what kind of place have we come to?" Brocade asked, puzzled.
Evan frowned. "Maybe we've crossed into the Heavenly Dao Necropolis."
"Heavenly Dao Necropolis?" Brocade echoed, confused.
"Yeah. That's right. When Heavenly Dao powerhouses are about to die, they're automatically teleported here to wait for death. This place is called the Heavenly Dao Necropolis. I never imagined the Blue World—a realm so tiny—would have a passage leading here. The Blue World is far more mysterious than I thought," Evan said, suddenly realizing even the Immortal Realm might be scarier than he'd guessed.
Brocade was struck by Evan's words. Evan said, "Come on, let's look around."
No sooner had he spoken than the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword shot out from Evan's body, streaking away like a shooting star and vanishing from sight.
"Boss, what was that?" Brocade exclaimed.
"Let's check it out. Maybe we'll find something," Evan said, excited, sensing where the sword had gone.
Brocade nodded and followed Evan. Evan quickly locked onto the sword's location and arrived there. The Soul-Devouring Divine Sword was embedded in front of a gigantic tombstone. Unlike the others, this tombstone was huge, with no other graves nearby—a rare sight, since space in the Heavenly Dao Necropolis was limited. Anyone who could claim such a large area must have been a major figure.
"Hold on, let me take a look," Evan said, calming the buzzing Soul-Devouring Divine Sword.
Evan crouched down and examined the stone stele. On it were carved several sharp, domineering characters: 'Soul-Devouring Unrivaled, Divine Sword Over the World.'
"Soul-Devouring Divine Sword Over the World?" Evan muttered, rearranging the phrase.
Curious, Evan reached out to touch the character for 'Devour.' Before he could even make contact, the character suddenly enlarged and took a huge bite out of his hand.
Seeing such a bizarre scene, Evan quickly withdrew his hand, but a small wound was left, bleeding. "What the...?"
Both Evan and Brocade were shocked. Not only that, but the 'Devour' character on the tombstone now held a trace of blood—Evan's blood.
"This senior must've been incredible in life—even the engraved characters have such power," Evan muttered.
"Yeah, it's terrifying. This tombstone is way stronger than any Heavenly Dao artifact," Brocade said.
Evan nodded, then tried to pull out the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword. No matter how he summoned it, the sword wouldn't budge. Evan asked the sword spirit, puzzled, "What's wrong?"
"The ten of us brothers want to stay here. We have a feeling that if we remain, our memories will return," the sword spirit said.
Evan asked, "How long will that take?"
"Hard to say. Maybe soon, maybe a long time," the sword spirit replied.
"What should I do? We can't stay here long—the death aura is too strong. If we stay over a day, we'll turn to skeletons," Evan said, looking around at the death aura.
"It's fine. You can leave. When we're unsealed, we'll come find you," the sword spirit reassured.
Evan nodded. "Alright."
Although he felt reluctant, Evan had no choice—he couldn't take the sword with him. Still, the sword's strange behavior made Evan curious: was the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword once the weapon of the tomb's owner?
"Boss, what about us?" Brocade asked, disappointed that he hadn't found anything related to himself.
Evan noticed Brocade's mood and smiled. "Don't worry, we still have most of the day. Let's look around—maybe you'll find something connected to you."
"Alright, Boss, let's try. If the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword can do it, maybe I can too," Brocade said.
Evan chuckled. "Yeah, let's get going."
So Evan and Brocade wandered through the necropolis. It was such a vast place that exploring it all would take years.
After a while, Evan actually spotted a living person. But this person had his eyes closed, looking as though he was about to pass away.
"Boss, what's wrong with him? Didn't he notice us?" Brocade asked, puzzled.
"He's probably waiting to die. Look, he dug his own grave and even prepared a tombstone," Evan said to Brocade.
Brocade saw the grave beside the man and watched him for a while. Slowly, the man opened his eyes and said, "You don't belong here. Go back to where you came from."
"Senior, are you... still alive?" Evan asked, unsure how to continue.
"Yes, I'm waiting for death," the man replied with a bitter smile.
