Feeling Wronged

Ethan Gu narrowed his eyes at him, gave a cold snort, then turned away, clearly showing he had no intention of responding.

Lily Ling bounced over happily. She seemed in a great mood. Spotting Leo Leaf, she stopped to look her up and down, curiosity in her voice: "Leo, don't you only like black? Why are you wearing white today?"

Leo Leaf smiled gently and replied in a soft tone, "I just suddenly thought white looks pretty nice too!"

Lily Ling's eyes held a trace of doubt, but she didn't press further. Instead, Leo asked, "You're so cheerful—did something good happen?"

"No, that's not it. Quentin Soul is here!" Quentin Soul was mainly in charge of training assassins and rarely appeared. His personality was always cold, and spending all day with those killers meant he hardly interacted with normal people, making him even more aloof.

Still, he got along well with Lily Ling and Logan Qian. In contrast, the gentle Leo Leaf was a bit distant from the other three.

Seeing Lily Ling so happy, Leo teased, "Lily, do you like Quentin Soul?"

Lily Ling frowned. "Don't talk nonsense!" she retorted, then ran off, clearly not wanting to continue the conversation. Yet in her mind, a cold and distant face suddenly appeared—the same annoying person who always opposed her, making them mutual eyesores.

Leo glanced down at her pure white dress, a strange glimmer flickering in her eyes. She followed Lily—since Quentin Soul had arrived, as one of the four Hall Masters, she naturally had to go greet him and show her concern.

Maxwell Jing stepped out from behind the shade of a tree, intending to go along, but Ethan Gu grabbed him by the arm to stop him.

As for why they were hiding here, it was entirely because Maxwell Jing liked to keep a 'low profile.' He felt that being affectionate in front of everyone wasn't appropriate, so he dragged Ethan Gu to a secluded spot where no one could see them!

Turning to the person with the cold expression, Maxwell Jing raised his brows in confusion and asked, "What's wrong?"

Ethan Gu opened his mouth as if to say something, but in the end let him go, replying coldly, "Forget it!" Then he brushed past him, heading in the direction Lily and Leo had gone.

Maxwell Jing watched his retreating figure, the curve of his lips growing wider, eyes brimming with amusement. He quickly caught up, about to speak, but Ethan Gu suddenly turned and shot him a warning look, voice low: "You'd better not say anything!"

Maxwell Jing blinked innocently. "I wasn't going to say anything!" But he couldn't hide the laughter in his eyes, and under Ethan's glare, he couldn't hold back and bravely said what was on his mind: "Ethan, you're so cute when you're jealous!"

He did appreciate beautiful things, people included, though not to the point of obsession. Ever since he'd had Ethan Gu, he had no interest in anyone else. Still, seeing Ethan's jealous pout always secretly delighted him, so sometimes he teased him on purpose.

Ethan Gu glared at the overly cheerful man. He knew Maxwell Jing would never have inappropriate feelings for others, but he just couldn't stand his attention wandering to those so-called beauties. Call him possessive or domineering—this man was his, and had been his alone for a very long time!

Seeing the intense focus in his eyes, Maxwell Jing restrained his smile, reached out and took his hand, softly saying, "Let's go."

Ethan Gu snorted, "Don't think this settles everything!"

Uh... Maxwell Jing stiffened, his face full of helplessness. Why did he always forget the most important thing? Ethan's jealousy amused him, but he always had to pay the price for it!

Inside the main hall, Damien Gray appeared to be listening to Quentin Soul's report on the recent training, but it was obvious to everyone that his mind was elsewhere, and no one knew how much he actually heard.

Finally, Quentin Soul finished speaking, but Damien Gray remained in the same posture, his eyes fixed on a spot in the void, not moving at all.

The four Hall Masters exchanged glances, unable to figure out what was going on. This was the first time they'd seen Damien Gray so absent-minded.

Ethan Gu and Maxwell Jing shared a look, both certain that only Morgan Shangguan could make Damien Gray act this way!

But where had the Princess Consort gone? It was rare not to see her by Damien Gray's side!

Just as he was thinking this, Logan Qian spoke up: "Master, where is Mistress?" Before Damien Gray could answer, he pulled Quentin Soul aside to talk about how impressive Mistress was—she'd seen through his disguise at a glance. From his disgruntled expression, it was clear he was quite unwilling to accept it!

Suddenly, the temperature around them seemed to drop. Looking up, Logan Qian met Damien Gray's displeased gaze. Embarrassed, he scratched his head. Apparently, the Master didn't like him mentioning Mistress. The two had been inseparable lately, yet now Mistress was nowhere to be seen. Had she done something to anger him? Logan Qian frowned—if so, what would happen to Mistress?

Although it was clear Damien Gray treated Morgan Shangguan differently, Logan Qian couldn't be sure he would never hurt her. After all, the Ghostmaster was known for his coldness and unpredictability; no one could tell what he was thinking!

Maybe Morgan Shangguan's charm was just too strong. Logan Qian hadn't interacted with her much, but he was genuinely worried for her.

Damien Gray looked away. Logan Qian stayed quiet for a moment, then couldn't help himself and started telling Quentin Soul about how cute—and terrifying—Ethan Gray and Roxy Shangguan were!

Quentin Soul kept his face cold, quietly listening without responding or interrupting. Everyone was used to his icy demeanor—no one thought anything of it.

Only Leo, listening to Logan Qian, grew more and more puzzled, finally unable to hold back and interrupting, "You said Master has two children? When did that happen? How come I didn't know?"

Since Ethan Gray and Roxy Shangguan had only been at the Ghost Guild for a few days, and only showed up briefly when Shuyang Ye visited, Leo had no idea they existed.

Logan Qian glanced at her, replying coolly, "Yes." Thinking of those two little ones, his eyes sparkled, nearly turning starry. "Ethan is just like Master!" As for Roxy Shangguan, he really didn't know who she resembled. Mistress seemed quiet, definitely not that lively!
