Chief Executive Assistant

1/4/2026

"But this is the chairman's order," Assistant A hesitated and replied, "It's also the CEO's intention. The chairman doesn't even allow Young Madam to return to her hometown for the family visit, just wants her to stay home and focus on her pregnancy."

"No, I'll call the chairman myself. I have a job, I can't just sit around at home doing nothing." Cecilia Gu turned to look for the phone book, and Assistant A quickly reported the situation to Charles Yin.

Charles Yin, who was busy with company matters, sneered when he heard Assistant A's report. "What can she do? She's just an insignificant employee. Can you even call that work? If the chairman agrees, let her come here and be my assistant. Let's see what she's capable of! She'd rather give up being Young Madam to gain some sense of presence at the company!"

Assistant A immediately relayed Charles Yin's words to the assistant next to Madam Yin.

Right after Assistant A finished reporting, Cecilia Gu found the number and called Madam Yin, trying her best to persuade her: "Chairman—ah, Grandma, it's Cecilia. Can I discuss something with you? I'm in good health now, there's really no need for me to rest at home. The company has its own medical office, so if I feel unwell, I can always call a doctor. I have a job, and if I don't go to work for a long time, people will talk, and it could affect the company's reputation. Grandma, can I go back to work at the company? I promise nothing will go wrong!"

Madam Yin chuckled softly over the phone, "Isn't it nice to enjoy life at home?"

"Grandma, I... I still want to work. It's lonely being home alone, and it's easy to get depressed. Being in a bad mood could affect the baby too." Cecilia Gu didn't dare admit she needed the money, so she bit her lip and pleaded, "I won't overwork myself, I just want to find a familiar environment to relax."

"If you just want a place to relax, then go be with Charles. No one makes me feel more at ease than him." Madam Yin thought it would be good for them to spend time together and nurture their relationship, which would be good for the child too.

Hearing Madam Yin's words, Cecilia Gu was stunned. Be Charles Yin's assistant? She had no idea how to do that!

"Alright, it's settled then. Either you go be Charles's assistant, or you stay home and rest." Madam Yin's commanding presence finally showed itself.

"I'll go, I'll go!" Cecilia Gu immediately agreed as soon as she heard.

It didn't matter what the job was, as long as it came with a paycheck.

After hanging up, it wasn't long before Assistant A returned from outside and handed Cecilia Gu a brand new work badge.

A work badge? That was fast!

She had just finished the call, and the new badge was already made? Did Charles Yin already know... How could that be? She must be overthinking it!

Cecilia Gu dazedly took her new badge. Written on it, bold and clear, was her new title: Chief Executive Assistant.

Chief Executive Assistant?

Cecilia Gu smiled, "So we're colleagues now?"

Assistant A smiled too. "Young Madam, you're the backbone of all the assistants now."

Now that Young Madam was by the CEO's side, there was no more guessing what he was thinking.

At this moment, the housekeeper had already set breakfast on the table, standing by to serve Cecilia Gu.

Cecilia Gu had slowly gotten used to having people around her, taking care of her meals these past few days.

Cecilia also understood that the Yin family wasn't making such a fuss because of her, but because of the child she was carrying.

This was the first child of the Yin family's fourth generation. With so much importance placed on the baby, how could they let anything happen to her?

After breakfast, Assistant A drove Cecilia Gu straight to the company.

As soon as she walked into the company, Cecilia felt countless eyes on her. Many people were whispering and gossiping.

Assistant A was the most frequently seen assistant at Charles Yin's side. Now, with Assistant A following Cecilia, people's imaginations ran wild.

"What do you think is the relationship between Cecilia Gu and the CEO? The CEO actually lets Assistant A follow her around?"

"Isn't it obvious? It's a man-woman thing! But honestly, Cecilia Gu won't have a good ending."

"Why do you say that?" The others pressed for details.

"If the CEO really cared about her, why hasn't he given her a proper title?" the female colleague replied.

The others looked enlightened. "Makes sense!"

When these people looked at Cecilia again, their eyes were filled with pity... and jealousy.

Cecilia sighed inwardly. She knew that after disappearing for a while and coming back, the company rumors would be impossible to stop.

It didn't matter. Her status really didn't matter at all.

She didn't love that man anyway, so whether he gave her a title or not was irrelevant.

Cecilia Gu took out her work badge and swiped it to open the elevator.

At Yin Enterprises, everyone's badge allowed them direct access to their office floor.

Cecilia watched the elevator numbers climb from the first floor all the way up to the thirty-sixth.

When the elevator doors opened, Cecilia stepped out, her soft flat shoes sinking into a pure white French-imported carpet. Looking at the spacious CEO's office ahead, it all felt a bit unreal.

This place used to be off-limits to employees like her; only top executives had the right to enter.

But now, she was one of the executives herself.

"Young Madam..." The assistants at Charles Yin's side knew the CEO was married, so they treated Cecilia with much more respect.

Regardless of whether Cecilia was favored, the fact remained she was carrying the Yin family's fourth-generation heir. Status follows the child—this rule applied at all times.

Cecilia waved her hand. "This is the company, let's not use that title here."

When Cecilia entered Charles Yin's office, he was busy at his desk, writing furiously.

Cecilia hesitated for a moment, then walked over and greeted him, "CEO."

Charles Yin's hand paused, then he quickly finished writing, tossed his pen aside, and looked up at Cecilia.

Today, Cecilia was still dressed in professional attire, but because of her pregnancy, she had switched from high heels to soft-soled flats.

A hint of satisfaction flashed in Charles Yin's eyes.

Good, she knows how to protect the child.

"From today onward, you're the Chief Executive Assistant. You'll be in charge of all affairs in the CEO's office. Can you handle it?" Charles Yin had returned to his cold demeanor. Being Chief Executive Assistant wasn't so easy. She insisted on coming to work, so he'd see what she was capable of.

"I can." Cecilia replied, lowering her head.

Charles seemed a little surprised by Cecilia's answer. So confident?

He casually tossed a file in front of her. "Review this for me."

Cecilia took it and immediately got to work at the side table.

Charles watched Cecilia. Was this another side of her?

So this is what she's like when she works!

Was this her fifth expression, besides crying, smiling, getting angry, and despair?

So this was what she looked like when she worked seriously—her features were striking, all focus and determination.

Just then, the secretary came in carrying coffee. She set Cecilia's cup on the table, but before Cecilia could say anything, Charles Yin spoke up: "Take away the coffee. She only drinks milk—Royal British, make sure it's heated before you bring it."

The secretary was nearly stunned!

Did she hear that right?

The CEO actually cared about such a small detail? Had he been watching... Cecilia?

Seeing the secretary still dazed, Charles Yin narrowed his eyes in displeasure. "What? Can't even handle such a simple task?"

The secretary broke out in a cold sweat and quickly collected the coffee. "Yes, CEO, I'll change it right away."

Cecilia just glanced up at Charles Yin. He really did care about the child. She was lucky to benefit from it.

By the time the secretary brought the milk, Cecilia had finished the review. She handed her report to Charles Yin. "CEO, the review is done."

Charles didn't take the report from Cecilia's hand. He nodded to the secretary, signaling her to set down the milk, then said to Cecilia, "Drink the milk."

Cecilia frowned slightly. "CEO, I don't really like to drink..."

"Do you need me to feed you?" Charles Yin's narrow eyes darkened, and his aura instantly turned icy.

"No... I'll drink." Cecilia gritted her teeth, put the review report on the desk, and picked up the milk to drink.

"Sit down and drink slowly." Even though Charles Yin didn't look directly at her, he caught her movement out of the corner of his eye.

Cecilia gritted her teeth again. What a fussy CEO!

She'd never dealt with executives before, so she had no idea Charles Yin was this picky. Was he a Virgo or something?

"I'm a Scorpio." Charles Yin picked up Cecilia's review report, reading as he spoke.

"Pfft... cough, cough..." Cecilia nearly choked on her milk.

Was he even human? How could he guess what she was thinking?

"You even choke on milk. Maybe I really overestimated you." His calm voice hid emotions Cecilia couldn't decipher. "What's your zodiac sign?"

"Cancer." Cecilia felt she was going to suffer an internal injury—why did being an assistant require sharing her zodiac sign?

Charles Yin just turned his head, and Assistant A immediately understood, quietly reporting, "Scorpio and Cancer have a compatibility score of one hundred percent."

A flash of joy flickered in Charles Yin's eyes—so fast that Assistant A almost thought he imagined it.

Assistant A silently thought, "CEO, your springtime has finally arrived!"
