"Cutie Pie, are you done being mad?" Grace asked.
Cutie Pie glanced at Grace and shook its head.
"But why were you upset, anyway?" Grace laughed. "Don't tell me... you were jealous of Byron White?"
It nodded without hesitation.
Grace stared at it. "So... were you jealous for yourself, or for Evan Xiao?
If it was for yourself, nod once; if it was for him, nod twice."
Cutie Pie nodded three times in total.
Grace: "...You're just a snake, what are you jealous for? Unless you plan to cultivate into a spirit and become human someday?"
Cutie Pie shook its head again.
"That's good..." She always shared a bed with Cutie Pie. If it suddenly turned into a man, that would be seriously awkward...
Grace took out the Jade Permit and activated it. Suddenly, her vision brightened, and she found herself in another space.
At the same time, a flash of dark light—Cutie Pie had followed her in.
Cutie Pie could enter her Sanctum Tower space.
Grace was no longer surprised that Cutie Pie could come here too.
"So this is the Celestial Library..." Grace looked around. "It's not that big!"
It was a sealed room.
It looked especially antique.
Stone walls, stone bookshelves.
The shelves were packed with books—some famous, some without even a title.
All the books were bathed in a white glow, but the light didn't stop anyone from taking them.
Grace guessed that the white glow was a formation to protect the books from damage.
According to the Divine Apothecary's Legacy Jade Permit... there was an invisible formation in the center of the room.
If you solved the formation, a mechanism would open, and you'd get the key to the fourth floor.
"Eight bricks, tap each one with your spiritual energy sixty-four times..." Grace did exactly as the legacy instructed.
Then, a crisp sound echoed in the air, and a key silently appeared on the floor.
Grace was overjoyed and hurried over to pick it up.
This was the key to the fourth floor of her Sanctum Tower!
She desperately wanted to return to her space and unlock the fourth floor right away.
But since chances to enter the Celestial Library were rare, she held back and went to find some books to read.
Not all of these books were about medicine.
They covered everything from astronomy to geography, cultivation techniques to the wildest magical species—absolutely everything.
Every single book was one she'd never seen before.
She wanted to read each and every one.
If she could get through this whole library, she'd be the most knowledgeable person on the continent...
Sadly, she only had four hours before her soul would be automatically ejected.
After browsing for a while, just the book titles alone made her head spin.
So Grace went to look for the Level Ten Alchemist Assessment Handbook her master had mentioned.
She found it pretty quickly.
There was a whole row—eighteen volumes in all, covering every alchemist rank from one to eighteen. They stood out in the library.
She took out the Level Ten Alchemist Assessment Handbook and started reading carefully.
As she read, she took out the paper and pen she'd brought and started taking notes...
Cutie Pie curled up beside her, resting its head on her leg and napping out of boredom.
The book was thick, and when she was halfway through, her vision blurred—and both she and Cutie Pie were ejected.
Taking a deep breath, Grace put away her paper, pen, and Cutie Pie into her space, then walked out.
Byron White had said he'd wait for her to come out.
Grace thought she'd see him as soon as she left the quiet chamber.
Honestly, she really didn't want to see that face again!
