"Believe it or not," Evan Yang said coldly, then swung the Soul-Devouring Divine Sword downward. With that slash, not only did he break the Void Spirit Envoy, but even the surrounding formation was shaken.
A surge of immense power erupted, blasting Evan Yang into a tunnel. He had no idea where this tunnel led—all he knew was that his body was being affected.
At this moment, his body was paralyzed, the green color faded away, his hair turned white, and his whole body became extremely aged.
"What is this?" Evan Yang exclaimed in shock.
"Stay focused, you're in great danger right now," said the Blood Demon Lord in his mind.
Evan Yang didn't know what was happening, but he understood that he definitely couldn't move recklessly right now. Powerless to move, he could only let the formation's force carry him into the tunnel. As for where the tunnel led, he had no idea—he only knew he kept drifting along.
Finally, his vision blurred and he crashed into a patch of grass. Normally, such a fall would be nothing, but this time it felt like his whole body was coming apart.
"Damn it!" Evan Yang cursed loudly.
"Looks like you overused my power and your body is completely exhausted!" said the Blood Demon Lord.
"What? My body is exhausted?" Evan Yang exclaimed in shock.
"That's right. Your body will become just like a normal person's—live a few decades, and then you'll die of old age just like everyone else," said the Blood Demon Lord.
"No way, I can't be this unlucky!" Evan Yang cried out in disbelief.
"Relax, you still have the Heaven-Cold Seed. Its life force is intact, and it's slowly recovering. Once it's back to normal, you'll be reborn," said the Blood Demon Lord.
"So what about now?" Evan Yang felt completely powerless—worse than a mortal. He'd just taken a nasty fall, but at least he could still sense the Heaven-Cold Seed, which put his mind at ease.
"Don't get worked up. You're still dealing with the aftereffects. Give it a bit, and you'll feel better," said the Blood Demon Lord.
Evan Yang felt reassured after hearing that. As long as he could move, he'd take his time recovering.
But things never go as planned. Just as he was feeling lucky—lying in the grass, breathing in the fresh air of this beautiful world—a wolf started creeping toward him.
Evan Yang, whose Divine Sense still worked, noticed the wolf approaching and exclaimed, "Seriously? How can my luck be this bad?"
"You really are unlucky," the Blood Demon Lord said helplessly.
"Let me try summoning my Soul-Devouring Divine Sword," Evan thought. But when he tried, the sword was just as unresponsive as he was—like it was sound asleep.
"You don't have enough power to wake it up right now," said the Blood Demon Lord.
"Wait, I've still got Soul-Reaping Water!" Evan remembered his other companion and was about to call for it, when suddenly a bear let out a miserable cry and collapsed in a pool of blood.
Evan was curious who had saved him. It turned out to be a little girl with a bow, about the same age as Ember Yang. She walked right up to Evan.
Seeing her big, bright eyes, Evan Yang felt like he'd met his savior.
"Grandpa, are you alright? Let me help you up," the little girl said.
Grandpa? Evan Yang was speechless, but looking at himself—white hair, shrunken muscles, wrinkled face, and a changed aura—he really did look like an old man. Even his friends wouldn't recognize him now.
"Grandpa, what's wrong?" Megan Rain asked, seeing Evan lost in thought.
"No, it's nothing. Thank you. If it weren't for you, I would've been wolf chow," Evan Yang said with a smile.
With Megan Rain's help, Evan Yang managed to stand up. She smiled, "It was nothing, just happened to be passing by. By the way, Grandpa, where do you live? How did you end up out here in the wilderness?"
Evan Yang scratched his head, feeling helpless. "Ah, don't ask. I was planning to go to the city to find my child, but I got lost. I can't even remember which city it was, and my memory's shot, so I have no idea how to get back."
"What? Grandpa..." Megan Rain was shocked after hearing Evan's story.
"My legs don't work, so I ended up falling here," Evan Yang said helplessly.
"Don't worry, Grandpa. I'll help you find your family. Or, if you want, you can come to my house first," Megan Rain offered.
Evan Yang nodded. With Megan Rain supporting him, they headed down the mountain. On the way, Evan chatted with her and learned her name was Megan Rain. She lived in a nearby village where everyone made a living by hunting, so she was a natural-born archery expert.
When Megan Rain brought Evan Yang into the village, they caught a lot of attention. But once people saw he was just an old man, they quickly lost interest.
At Megan Rain's house, Evan Yang noticed she lived alone, which was pretty rare. When he asked, she explained that her parents and relatives died in a disaster when she was young.
"Grandpa, sit here. I'll get you something to eat," Megan Rain said.
Evan Yang nodded. After Megan Rain left, he couldn't wait to find a spot to lie down—he was so tired it felt like his bones were falling apart.
"Man, when am I going to get back to normal?" Evan Yang grumbled.
"Just treat it as a trip through the Human World. Get a feel for what mortal life is like," the Blood Demon Lord said with a laugh.
"Alright." Evan Yang sighed helplessly.
Lying on the bed, Evan Yang released his Divine Sense.
He saw everyone in the village busy with their tasks, but there was something odd: all the game they hunted was delivered to one house.
At that moment, Megan Rain was right there.
"Village Chief, here's the bear I hunted this morning," Megan Rain said with a smile.
"Little Meng, you're not a kid anymore. Did you think over what we talked about last time?" came the voice of the village chief from inside.
"Village Chief, I really don't want to do that. Besides, that greasy guy is disgusting—I don't want to be his concubine," Megan Rain replied.
"But he said if you don't give an answer by tomorrow, everyone in the village will suffer because of you," the voice inside said helplessly.
"Who cares? If they come, I'll just shoot them," Megan Rain said stubbornly.

"Alright, just be careful," the village chief said helplessly from inside.
Megan Rain smiled, grabbed some dried food from the house, and walked toward Evan Yang.
Evan Yang lay on the bed, having seen everything that just happened, but he stayed quiet. When Megan Rain brought over a pile of steaming buns—
—he wasn't sure if something was wrong with his stomach, but Evan felt incredibly hungry.
"You're in a mortal body now, so hurry up and eat," the Blood Demon Lord said with a laugh.
Evan Yang had no choice—he grabbed the food and devoured it. Watching Evan eat seven or eight buns in one go, Megan Rain was stunned. How could an old man eat so fast? She'd planned for the buns to last him two days, but he finished them in one meal.
"Sorry for embarrassing you!" Evan said awkwardly, seeing Megan Rain's surprised expression.
"It's fine," Megan Rain replied with a smile.
Then Megan Rain told Evan Yang to rest more. Tomorrow, once he could move easily, she'd take him out to look for his family.
Evan Yang nodded. Megan Rain left him at her house and went out hunting again. That night, Evan found himself getting sleepy and reluctantly lay down to rest.
He was woken up by noisy voices, and when he looked outside, it was already morning.
"I actually slept that long?" Evan Yang muttered to himself.
Outside, a group of people on horseback had gathered, led by a one-eyed man. He said to the villagers, "Bring Megan Rain out. We're taking her to the city to report in."
"Sir, Megan Rain really isn't here," the village chief replied.
"Not here? Are you kidding me? Doesn't she know we're coming today? Tell her to come out, or I'll get serious," the one-eyed man said.
But the surroundings were completely silent—no one spoke. Seeing this, the one-eyed man drew his knife and said, "Looks like you really don't want to live."
Just then, an arrow shot out and struck a horse, causing it to go wild and throw the one-eyed man off its back. The horse even trampled him a few times.
The furious one-eyed man cursed, "Who did this? Who messed with me?"
"Me!" Megan Rain walked over from behind.
"Damn you, girl! Everybody, get her!" the one-eyed man yelled angrily.
But before they could do anything, Megan Rain produced six arrows and fired them in a volley. Instantly, several men dropped to the ground. Seeing things turn against him, the one-eyed man shouted in fear, "Retreat!"
"Village Chief, it's all good now," Megan Rain said with a smile.
The village chief sighed, "Little Meng, this can't go on. They'll definitely come back with reinforcements."
"However many come, I'll shoot them all," Megan Rain replied.
But the villagers didn't seem happy with Megan Rain. One by one, they came forward to persuade her to leave, afraid she'd bring trouble to them.
Megan Rain never expected that because of all this, she'd be driven out of the village.
"Alright, I'll pack up now," Megan Rain said, though she felt really upset inside.
Megan Rain had never dealt with something like this before, so she didn't realize she was causing trouble for everyone. She went back home, walked to Evan Yang's bedside, and forced a smile. "Grandpa, I'll take you to look for your family now."
Evan Yang looked happy on the surface, but inside he was curious—how did Megan Rain have such explosive strength? That wasn't something a normal person could do.
Earlier, the Blood Demon Lord had also mentioned Megan Rain, saying she had some strange power, but he couldn't figure out what it was.
So as Megan Rain led him away from the village, Evan Yang asked curiously, "Little Meng, how do you have such powerful strength?"
"You mean my shooting strength?" Megan Rain asked.
"Yeah," Evan Yang nodded.
"I don't know. I've always liked archery, and I'm really good at it—but I have no idea why," Megan Rain said. When Evan asked when she first got this power—
Megan Rain answered that she'd had it ever since she could remember. She often accidentally killed livestock at home, so the adults would scold her a lot.
That left Evan Yang puzzled—how could Megan Rain have such a mysterious gift?
