On the road as Evan Yang followed Megan Rain, he suddenly sensed a change in his old village. Blood was flowing like a river, and a group of people were slaughtering wildly there—many of them cultivators.
"I forgot something. Help me go back," Evan said, anxious.
Seeing Evan so anxious, Megan figured it must be something important, so she said, "Alright, I'll take you back now."
At this moment, Evan felt strong but lacked stamina; his body couldn't handle running fast, so Megan had to carry him. When they arrived at the village, Megan saw the scene before her, froze, and let go—Evan dropped to the ground.
But Evan had no time to care about this. He noticed Megan Rain's emotions fluctuating, and her aura was shifting as well.
"There really is something strange. She must have a terrifying person sealed inside her body," said the Blood Demon Lord.
"Oh? Why would someone be sealed inside her?" Evan asked suspiciously.
"Either it's cultivation, or it's just normal reincarnation," the Blood Demon Lord replied.
Hearing this, Evan kept watching Megan Rain. He saw her eyes already moist, her gaze red, and her hands tightly gripping her bow as she stared at the carnage before her.
Someone soon noticed Megan Rain. The previously wounded one-eyed man said, "That's her—that's the girl."
The group of cultivators then walked over. The one-eyed man, emboldened by their presence, sneered, "This is the price for attacking us—everyone in the village will die because of you."
"You deserve to die," Megan Rain said, her aura terrifying. The people around her suddenly felt something was off. Trouble was coming. Megan leapt into the air—at some point, a golden bow appeared in her hands. Instantly, countless arrows formed on the bow and rained down. Not a single person escaped; every arrow struck heads and vital spots. All died on the spot.
In an instant, dozens of people were gone. Evan watched Megan Rain in the sky—her cultivation was far beyond the Lesser God realm. "Who is she, really?"
While Evan wondered who she was, Megan floated down—but collapsed and fainted, her aura gradually fading.
"Her grief and anger just now triggered the power inside her. Now that she's calm, it's faded," said the Blood Demon Lord.
Evan understood. He stayed by Megan Rain's side, waiting for her to wake up. When she finally did, her head hurt badly. But seeing the scene before her, she cried out, "Village Chief! Village Chief!"
But most of the villagers were dead. No matter how heartbroken she was, it was useless. Still, she wondered who had killed them. She walked over to Evan, who was sitting on the ground, and asked, "Grandpa, did you see who killed these people?"
"No, I'm afraid of blood. I fainted as soon as I saw so much of it," Evan lied.
"If I knew, I would thank them for killing those damned people. It was all their fault the Village Chief died," Megan Rain said.
Seeing Megan Rain still grieving, Evan comforted her, "My condolences."
"It's all my fault. If not for me, this wouldn't have happened," Megan Rain said, tears streaming down her face.
"Don't cry. This isn't your fault," Evan comforted her.
Megan Rain couldn't help but cry for a long time. Only after she slowly recovered and buried the villagers did she help Evan leave the village.
On the road, Evan casually asked, "Xiao Meng, do you often dream about things?"
"How did you know I often dream?" Megan Rain asked curiously.
"Young people love to dream, so I just wanted to ask," Evan replied with a smile.
"I thought Grandpa was a genius, but you're right—I dream a lot. Especially about flying through the sky, holding a golden bow, and shooting everything in sight," Megan Rain laughed.
Evan understood—it must be memories from her past life. He just didn't know why her previous life's power and memories remained inside her, only released in special ways.
"Could it really be intentional, entering the human body for this reason?" Evan wondered to himself.
"Grandpa, what's wrong?" Megan Rain asked, seeing Evan lost in thought.
"It's nothing. I'm just wondering where we're heading next," Evan asked curiously.
"I'll take you to the nearest city. It's bustling, with roads in all directions—and I've heard there are all sorts of strange people there," Megan Rain said.
"Oh? Is that so? All right, I'd like to see it for myself," Evan smiled.
Megan Rain began telling Evan about the city. To Evan, it seemed ordinary—after all, Megan hadn't seen much of the world, so she thought the city was big. But when Evan reached the city gates, his opinion changed. This city was truly unusual. Walking the streets, he saw people using Nether Sky Coins, which meant the city was under the Nether Sky Realm's control.
"Could this really be the Nether Sky Realm?" Evan couldn't be sure. After all, he'd been swept into the tunnel by a powerful shockwave, and whether he'd actually arrived was still in question.
"Grandpa, I'll find us a place to stay," Megan Rain said, supporting Evan as they arrived at a noodle shop. Evan asked curiously, "What's this place?"
"Someone from our village runs this noodle shop. Every time I come, I look for him—let's see if he's willing to help us this time," Megan Rain said.
Evan nodded, and the two entered the noodle shop. The waiter recognized Megan Rain and greeted her, "Xiao Meng, you're here!"
"Mm. Where's Uncle Huang?" Megan Rain asked.
"Oh, he's in the back. Go find him—he'll be happy to see you," the waiter said. Megan Rain smiled, let the waiter get back to work, and helped Evan into the back, where there was a kitchen, lodging, and a main hall.
At the entrance to the main hall, a middle-aged man was directing the workers. When he saw Megan Rain, he exclaimed happily, "Little Meng, you’re here!"
Uncle Huang, sorry to bother you again," Megan Rain said awkwardly.
Nonsense! You once saved me—no matter how many times you come, you’re my benefactor. Whenever you’re here, you must stay, room and board included!" the man replied with a smile.
Thank you, Uncle Huang. And this is Grandpa Yang—he got lost looking for his relatives, so I brought him to the city. We might need to stay here for a few days," Megan Rain said.
No problem, I’ll arrange rooms for you right away," the man said with a smile. He set up rooms for Evan and Megan Rain, chatted for a while, then went back to work. Megan Rain told Evan, 'You rest here, I’ll help Uncle Huang. This afternoon I’ll take you to look for your people.'
Evan nodded. After they left, his Divine Sense began to wander through the city. On the streets, he saw all sorts of strange people—even shape-shifting beasts. Evan wondered how they could live together without conflict.
It was Evan’s first time seeing such a bizarre world, and the city was enormous. As he marveled at the place, he sensed a surge of Nether Origin power coming from the noodle shop.
Evan checked curiously and saw a man with a completely black right hand eating noodles with his left. Nether Origin power radiated faintly from him.
This guy has Nether Origin power—so he must be from the Nether Sky Realm. Let’s see who he really is,' Evan thought, following him with Divine Sense. The man finished his noodles and left, visiting several shops before finally arriving at an inn called Four Directions.
Four Directions?' Evan muttered. The man went inside and didn’t come out; Evan wasn’t sure if he was a guest or a resident there.
Grandpa Yang, time for noodles,' Megan Rain called from the doorway as Evan was engrossed in his observations.
Evan smiled, 'Alright, alright.' He started eating noodles, returning to a mortal’s lifestyle. Evan had to eat a lot each day or he’d be very hungry, so Megan Rain brought him five bowls—far more than a typical elderly man could eat.
But Evan finished them all, then smiled and said, 'Delicious.'
Glad you like it! Later, I’ll take Grandpa out to look around,' Megan Rain said with a smile.
Evan nodded. After a while, Megan Rain returned and helped Evan outside. Evan said, 'Let’s walk around—maybe we’ll find my relatives.'
Megan Rain nodded, and the two walked around the city. Evan aimed straight for the inn, but the journey was tough for an old man—he nearly couldn’t make it, stopping at least five times before reaching the inn.
Grandpa Yang, are you sure your relatives are at this inn?' Megan Rain asked curiously.
Evan smiled, 'Yes, I’ve heard about it—just my memory isn’t good. I only remembered once we got here. Let’s go in and see.'
Alright,' Megan Rain nodded, then led Evan into the Four Directions Inn.
Inside the inn, there were all kinds of people—strange and unusual. Soon, someone came to greet them.
