Overbearing

2/14/2026

A series of intermittent beeping sounds suddenly echoed inside the elevator.

At the same moment, a hand suddenly blocked Evan Lin's path.

Sorry, the elevator is full this time. Please wait for the next one.

A second-generation heir looked at Evan Lin, smiled kindly, and spoke in a friendly tone, but his words immediately drew the attention of many around to Evan Lin.

Gloria Rong frowned slightly, a little worried that Evan Lin might get angry or react violently because of this.

What surprised her was that Evan Lin simply nodded, said nothing, and stepped back.

Queuing for the elevator naturally involves a first-come, first-served rule.

Normally, this elevator can hold fifteen to twenty people, but perhaps due to too many heavy people inside this time, it quickly exceeded the weight limit.

The elevator doors slowly closed, then descended.

The steel cables emitted a series of roaring sounds.

He spoke loudly, making no effort to avoid the other strangers in the elevator.

Yeah, Gloria, you aren’t seriously into that guy, are you?

A girl turned her head to look at Gloria Rong: 'He barely says a word, probably just thick-skinned. He’s got no family background, so how do you even know him?'

It's not what you think. Just treat him as a friend of a friend.

Gloria Rong thought for a moment: 'You can knock him down a peg, but don’t go overboard.'

Hey, with your word, Gloria, everything’s easy.

Barry Shen laughed: 'Don’t worry, Gloria. We all know the score. Besides, that kid has no status or background, so there’s no need for us to get worked up.'

Still, I just can’t stand the way he acts like he doesn’t care about anyone. Does he really think he’s somebody?

Barry Shen snorted.

The people around him looked down on Evan Lin even more.

Although Gloria Rong didn’t say it outright, her words made them guess that Evan Lin was just a shameless pursuer.

Maybe Gloria Rong was just being polite for a friend’s sake, so she couldn’t reject him directly.

So he’s basically a stinking fly?

Someone chimed in, and many people laughed immediately.

That kid, will he take this chance to run away?

Ray Lei looked up, worried. He hadn’t revealed Evan Lin’s identity as the Teenage King of the Ring yet, hoping Barry Shen’s group would mock Evan Lin more.

Watching them mock him felt satisfying to Ray Lei.

But if that kid really left now, what would Ray Lei use to approach Master Lin from Seacrest later?

He couldn’t help but feel a little worried.

Let him run if he wants. Who cares about losers like that?

Barry Shen scoffed, curling his lip: 'Honestly, what’s that kid even worth?'

When we were eating earlier, those of us with status didn’t go out of our way to talk to him—that’s just being polite and reserved. But that kid? He’s got nothing, not even a brain!

He didn’t even bother to offer a toast or pour tea—he acted like he was the big shot, waiting for us to go toast him!

The elevator quickly reached the underground arena.

When the doors opened, Barry Shen was still walking forward with Ray Lei, laughing and chatting, not waiting for Evan Lin to come down.

He had barely taken a few steps when he saw a guy in a white T-shirt walking toward them from not far away.

A-Yue! You’re here!

The guy walked fast. He wasn’t particularly tall or muscular, but he somehow gave off a strong, intimidating vibe.

Leon.

Hearing his voice, Gloria Rong snapped out of it and said, 'You got here pretty early—I thought you weren’t coming yet.'

Leon Lu replied straightforwardly: 'I just got here. If you hadn’t said anything, I was about to call you and have you come find me.'

Isn’t that Master Lin from Seacrest? Wow, I hear he’s seriously fierce!

His disciple used to be really strong. I always wanted to fight Dylan Hu, but I was out of town for a while and missed the chance. Now, just when I finally have time, Dylan Hu got knocked out by someone else!

Leon Lu looked helpless.

He said it without meaning anything, but the others took it seriously.

The group around Gloria Rong, including Barry Shen, couldn’t help but turn to look at the newcomer.

The arrogance and disdain Barry Shen showed in the elevator when mentioning Evan Lin vanished instantly.

He smiled like a Buddha, his whole face radiating a kind of benevolence.
