The New Minister Puts On Big Airs

Federation Natural Planet No. 11.

This planet is enormous—ten times larger than the Homeworld. The Federation army has fought here for twenty years and still hasn’t managed to fully conquer it.

What makes Federation Natural Planet No. 11 truly unique is that its largest area isn’t ocean, but forest—over eighty percent of its surface is covered by woods.

Inside those forests live countless elf tribes, both large and small.

These elves, male or female, are all stunningly beautiful—but they’re also extremely dangerous. Every adult elf is a master archer, and their magic-imbued arrows can easily pierce standard mechs.

That’s why, even after twenty years, the Federation has only managed to conquer the planet’s open lands, while the forests remain untamed.

Because elves are naturally beautiful, elf slaves are highly sought after. Ordinary male elf slaves sell for between 500,000 and 1 million, while female elves start at 1 million.

Over these twenty years, humans have built city after city across the planet’s land.

These cities are divided into nine war zones, each named after an English letter.

B War Zone—Southlight City.

Inside a sprawling villa, a long-haired man in a bright red robe sat gracefully with a glass of red wine. There was a faint smile at the corner of his lips, mixing a hint of devilish charm with gentleness.

His name was Ethan Jiang—one of the System Hosts who had arrived in this world.

Before he obtained his System, he was the Eighth Prince of a cultivation empire, already at late-stage Golden Core. Among all the princes, his strength and intelligence ranked in the top three, and he had strong support to become Crown Prince.

After gaining his System, he was unstoppable.

After traveling through four worlds, his cultivation had advanced to early Nascent Soul—while he couldn’t match the true old monsters, among the younger generation he was already unbeatable.

Just then, a faint phantom appeared before Ethan Jiang, knelt down, and respectfully reported: "Your Highness, another System Host has been captured."

Since arriving in this world, he had used his overwhelming power to capture three System Hosts, making them his slaves, then sent them out to keep hunting down more.

Now, his forces already included seven System Hosts serving him.

“Excellent.” Ethan Jiang nodded in satisfaction. “Any word from Jiang Two?”

The phantom replied, “Your Highness, Jiang Two should arrive at the Homeworld today. With his divination skills, I’m sure he’ll soon track down new System Hosts.”

Jiang Two was the second System Host Ethan Jiang had subdued, personally named 'Jiang Two.' He’d obtained the Fortune-Teller System, so his divination skills were exceptional—he managed to help catch five other Hosts in just over a month, all thanks to his calculations.

Homeworld, Ninth Universe Spaceport.

Jiang Two walked out, dragging a black suitcase behind him.

Suddenly, a star chart appeared above his head—visible only to him. As he made his calculations, the stars shimmered and flickered.

“Hmm, there are actually two Hosts in Plumridge City. Interesting—let’s head there first!”

………

Plumridge City Special Police Base.

Today was the inauguration of the new Special Police Minister. Rumor had it he was young—just over thirty—and a powerful Two-Star Psychic Adept.

Just before nine, three city government hovercars landed at the Special Police Base.

A group of people stepped out from the vehicles.

Leading the group was a white man named William Bai, the city’s Second Deputy Mayor and direct supervisor of both the Special Police and Armed Police.

Just a step behind him was a tall man in his thirties, wearing a warm, friendly smile that immediately put people at ease.

Seven or eight attendants followed after them.

“Hello, Mayor Bai.”

Ryan Zhou and several battalion captains quickly stepped forward to pay their respects.

Earlier in Southriver County, the Special Police had lost over three hundred officers—three out of five battalions were wiped out. These days, they were working hard to rebuild, but still hadn’t returned to full strength.

William Bai smiled. “No need to stand on ceremony. Let me introduce your new minister—Colonel Frank Lu.”

“Greetings, Minister Lu.”

“Welcome, Minister Lu.”

Ryan Zhou and the five battalion captains hurried to salute.

Frank Lu waved his hand. “Until the appointment is officially announced, please call me Colonel Lu.”

For a moment, Ryan Zhou and the others were taken aback, finding his insistence a bit rigid.

Soon, everyone arrived at the Special Police Base’s main hall, where all the city’s Special Police officers were already waiting.

William Bai gave a brief speech—just five minutes or so—then formally announced Frank Lu’s appointment as the new Special Police Minister.

Afterward, Frank Lu delivered his inaugural speech. His words were forceful and inspiring—morale soared as the officers felt their spirits lift.

Ian Song, however, just curled his lip in disdain. In truth, Frank Lu’s speech was nothing special—it was the subtle psychic power woven into his words that roused everyone’s emotions.

Once the speech ended, Ryan Zhou, the five battalion captains, and their deputies were called into a meeting.

The meeting lasted a full two hours.

When they left the conference room, Ryan Zhou and the others looked grim.

“Landon Lu, Minister Lu wants to see you in his office!”

Amber Liu arrived at the training ground and found Ian Song.

“Amber, why are you the one delivering the message?” Ian was a bit surprised.

Amber Liu said excitedly, “Minister Lu just appointed me as his temporary secretary!”

“Haha, congratulations on the promotion, Amber!” Ian said with a smile.

“Promotion? Serving a minister is like serving a tiger. I was comfortable in the personnel office, but now I’ll have to stay on my toes!” Amber Liu’s face showed a hint of worry.

“Don’t worry. Even if you make a mistake, Minister Lu won’t blame you.”

“Why not?”

“Because you’re a beautiful woman!”

“Landon Lu, how dare you tease me! You’re asking for trouble!”

…………

After some playful banter with Amber Liu, Ian Song headed to the Minister’s office.

Outside the office stood two young men in black. Ian recognized them—they’d always been with Landon Lu and were likely his attendants. Both were skilled, at least at the War-General level.

“Please submit to a body search!”

Just as Ian was about to knock, one of the young men blocked his way.

“What, a body search?”

Ian was speechless.

Amber Liu, standing nearby, protested angrily, “Landon Lu is one of us. Isn’t this a bit much?”

“Our duty is to protect Colonel Frank Lu. Please cooperate.” The attendant’s tone was icy.

Ian Song just smiled indifferently. “Go ahead.”

The attendant shot him a look as if to say, ‘Smart choice,’ then confiscated Ian’s laser pistol and combat knife. “You may go in now.”
