Right now, Drake Long the Profound Immortal is absolutely raging. Ryan Ling is already in his grasp—there's basically zero chance of escape. Killing Ryan is a done deal!
But even in this situation, Ryan actually managed to slip away. That’s basically a slap in the face to Drake Long’s skills and IQ!
Drake Long is totally losing it now. His rampaging power sweeps through the underground for a thousand zhang. Ruins Sect’s secret tunnel is crazy tough—built to withstand demon armies—but the guy attacking now is a Profound Immortal. Suddenly, nowhere in the tunnel feels safe!
Inside the tunnel right now, it’s not just Ryan and Elder Harold Hong—there are other survivors too, and most of them are way weaker. With the tunnel shaking like crazy, people are coughing up blood left and right. They’re clearly on the brink!
"Go! Go! Get out of here—I'll hold them off!" Ryan knows full well that nobody else here can block this monstrous force except him.
"No way! Your body is in no shape to move!" Elder Harold Hong shouts, totally aware that Ryan just tanked an unprecedented beating. Sure, he got away by sheer luck, but his body’s trashed—there’s no way he can take another hit from Drake Long’s insane pursuit!
"But..." Ryan knows his own body better than anyone. Still, if he doesn’t step up now, everyone else is basically doomed.
But Elder Harold Hong grabs him and blurts, "Don’t panic! Ruins Sect’s secret tunnel isn’t that easy to smash through!"
As soon as Harold finishes, several hidden gate mechanisms snap open—massive slabs drop down like thousand-pound weights, instantly blocking Drake Long’s rampage!
Plus, the tunnel’s packed with defenses. Drake Long might be a Profound Immortal, but the instant his power hits, the tunnel eats up at least half of the force. Those giant gates drop and chop off another thirty percent. And it’s not just one gate—four or five slam down at once, buying Ryan and the others precious breathing room!
"Go, move it! These gates are tough, but they're not indestructible—get down the tunnel, now!" Elder Harold Hong doesn’t hesitate. He drags Ryan and the others straight down; there’s a huge chute in the passage, and sliding down is the absolute fastest way out!
A bunch of survivors have already gone ahead; now it’s just Ryan and Harold Hong at the back. No hesitation—they jump on the chute and rocket downward. Meanwhile, Drake Long’s pursuit is still nuts: endless Profound Immortal power slashes down like a berserk blade. Those gates are sturdy, but against that force, each one cracks and explodes. The thousand-year-old tunnel is getting shredded, inside and out!
"You little punk, don’t even think about running! Even if you flee to the ends of the earth, you’re dead meat today!" Drake Long’s voice blasts out, so intense it’s like thunder—Ryan’s eardrums are about to burst!
"Faster! Go, go, go!" Ryan’s nerves are still shot—this overwhelming power is just brutal, smashing through every barrier like it’s nothing. He can practically feel Drake Long’s aura breathing down his neck!
Harold Hong’s face is tense to the max. He grits his teeth and cranks the chute’s speed all the way up. Ryan feels like he’s about to lift off—the world is whipping past, and suddenly he spots a glimmer of light ahead. They’re almost out!
Ryan has no clue what’s outside the tunnel, but seeing Harold Hong’s half-excited face, it’s obvious—if they can just break through, there’s hope!
But right then, Ryan suddenly feels a brutal force yanking him back. He’s instantly alarmed—this is the last thing he wanted. But he’s got no choice: it’s Drake Long’s aura again. Profound Immortal power like this is totally beyond him. No matter how hard they resist, they can’t shake him off. Just as they’re about to reach the gate of hope, the chute grinds to a halt!
"You little punk, I told you—there’s no escaping my grasp today!" Drake Long’s voice is crystal clear, like he’s whispering right in Ryan’s ear. Even scarier, Ryan and Harold Hong are now totally tangled up in his aura. That Profound Immortal power is insane—if he really lets loose, no matter how far they run, he can drag them back in a flash!
"Elder Hong, this is all my fault—if not for me, you’d definitely make it out alive!"
"Seriously, what’s the point of saying that now? If you die, Ruins Sect is finished. What’s the use of me surviving in a world like that?"
......
Things are beyond dangerous now, but neither Ryan nor Harold Hong is ready to give up!
Suddenly, at this critical moment, a burst of light envelops them both—a familiar face appears: Jade Xuan, the Sky-Burial Necropolis boss! She’s brought the combined soul power of the whole Necropolis to save them!
Her sudden strike works—Drake Long never expected anyone to attack at this exact moment, and her power is fierce. In a flash, all the restraints binding Ryan and Harold Hong are blasted away!
In the blink of an eye, the two of them are yanked free—like they just got a royal pardon!
"Jade Xuan!" Ryan looks at her gratefully, and Harold Hong is just as moved.
"No time for chit-chat! Move!" Jade Xuan shouts, not hesitating for a second. This is no time for reunions—the crisis isn’t over. In fact, Drake Long is charging up for an even bigger attack on Ryan!

But in that split-second, Jade Xuan’s power yanks Ryan and Harold Hong out—they were already one step from the gate of hope, and her rescue is so fast it’s like leaping straight out of the fire pit!
Immediately, giant boulders slam down at the tunnel exit—these aren’t ordinary rocks, they’re dead-gate stones. Once they drop, not even crazy force can break through!
"Go! Move it!" Nobody hesitates—getting out is all that matters!
Even though the dead-gate stones block the hole, it’s not foolproof. If a Profound Immortal goes berserk, who knows what kind of disaster he could unleash!
Nobody hesitates—they follow Jade Xuan straight to the Sky-Burial Necropolis. That place is clearly the last safe haven. Only now does Ryan realize: Jade Xuan left Ruins Sect years ago to give the sect a lifeline. Now, that lifeline is finally paying off!
Everyone scatters, leaving powerful taboo formations in the Necropolis to buy time. But as soon as they clear the tunnel exit, every dead-gate stone explodes!
Ryan gasps—Drake Long’s power is scarier than any enemy he’s ever faced. The might of a Profound Immortal leaves a deep impression!
Luckily, Ryan and the others have dodged disaster for now. Their auras have faded, and Drake Long can’t track them immediately!
But Ryan knows this peace won’t last—long-term safety is a whole other story!
"Ryan, let’s catch our breath here and see how things play out. They won’t find us for a while!" Jade Xuan knows the Sky-Burial Necropolis can hold off the enemy for now—death energy fills the place!
"But hiding forever isn’t an option. I say it’s time we head to Skycrest Peak—only at the highest summit of the Immortal Domain World can we turn the tables..."
