A Fragment of the Nirvana Tree

12/19/2025

"Brother Di, Senior Sister Tammy just went to the Dragon Clan. She said she was going to attend an auction..." Dean Carter replied hurriedly.

Joe Di frowned slightly. Would Tammy Tang really go to an auction? That seemed unlikely. By all rights, Tammy Tang's top priority right now shouldn't be attending auctions, but refining the Seven-Colored Phoenix Blood. Refining the Seven-Colored Phoenix Blood is absolutely not something that can be accomplished in just a few years.

"Did she say anything else?" Joe Di was already planning to make a trip to the Dragon Clan.

Dean Carter shook his head, "Senior Sister Tammy just said there was nothing to worry about, that I shouldn't be concerned and should focus on my cultivation here. She told me to let you know if you returned."

"Did she go alone?" Joe Di asked again.

"No, she went with a woman named Vera Tang. It was because Franklin Young from the Demon Clan invited them, so they went to the Dragon Clan." Dean Carter replied.

Joe Di felt something strange in his heart. Would Franklin Young really dare make a move against Tammy Tang? Besides, even if Franklin Young did, Tammy Tang wouldn't just listen to him and go to the Dragon Clan.

"I'm going to the Dragon Clan. You and Lightning should stay here." Joe Di still felt uneasy. He didn't know what was going on, so he had to go and see for himself.

"Brother Di, I have the spatial coordinates for the Dragon Clan right here." Dean Carter immediately produced a location sphere and handed it to Joe Di.

......

Dragon Clan.

Although their presence in the Void Market isn't particularly strong, the Dragon Clan's power in this region of the void is truly top-tier.

Even the Demon Clan and Beast Clan aren't necessarily stronger than the Dragon Clan.

Right now, in the Dragon Clan's largest palace, a grand auction was underway. If Joe Di were to appear here, he'd immediately understand why there were so few powerful cultivators left in the Void Market.

There were only a handful of Dao Nurturing cultivators at this auction, and even Dao Transformation cultivators were rare. Most were Dao Origin experts and half-step Primordial Realm cultivators. As for true Primordial Realm experts, there were at least a dozen present.

At that moment, the woman on the auction stage picked up a jade box, paused, and said, "Although this item isn't being auctioned as the grand finale, I believe it might be the most valuable treasure in this entire auction..."

Upon hearing these words, the entire auction hall suddenly fell silent.

The auction had already been running for several days, and every item presented was a top-tier treasure. There had even been a broken fragment of the River Diagram and a Dao Fruit with a slim chance of comprehending the Primordial Realm. As for supreme artifacts, they were commonplace at this auction.

Now, the auctioneer claimed that the item in this jade box was the most precious treasure of the entire auction. How could everyone not be filled with anticipation, eager to know what was inside?

Seeing that her pause had indeed stirred up anticipation among the cultivators, the woman raised the treasure in her hand and said, "As everyone knows, the reason the Sacred Dao Domain was restored back then was mainly because Lord Ye contributed the World Tree... And the item I hold in my hand is related to the World Tree..."

At the mention of the World Tree, the entire auction erupted into a clamor, excitement surging through the hall. No matter how low their cultivation, anyone hearing about the World Tree couldn't help but feel thrilled.

Back in the Sacred Dao Domain, Lord Ye achieved unparalleled feats, his reputation spreading throughout the entire realm. Whether enemy or friend, all treated Lord Ye with utmost respect. Beyond his legendary deeds, his true strength was key. Why was Lord Ye so powerful? Rumor had it, it was all thanks to the World Tree.

Just the fact that this item was related to the World Tree made its value immeasurable.

Once the crowd's discussions quieted down a bit, the woman continued, "Many people know that when the World Tree shattered, it gave rise to the Nirvana Tree, Chaos Tree, Life Tree, and Yearwheel Tree. The item I hold is a wood chip, and according to the consignor, this is a fragment of the Nirvana Tree..."

Although the auctioneer's explanation was completely wrong—the Nirvana Tree wasn't actually formed from the shattering of the World Tree—at this moment, nobody cared about the details, especially since no one truly understood the truth.

Boom! The cultivators in the auction hall were in a complete uproar—a fragment of the Nirvana Tree? If this thing grew, wouldn't it become another World Tree?

Some cultivators, desperate to obtain the Nirvana Tree fragment, had their eyes turn red. If the auction's security weren't so unfathomably strong, there would probably be people rushing up to snatch it.

"Everyone, please quiet down." The auctioneer had no choice but to shout loudly.

No matter how much they longed for it, everyone quieted down. There were tens of thousands of cultivators at this auction, but there was only one Nirvana Tree fragment. Everyone wanted it, so the competition would be fierce.

Once the crowd was quiet, the auctioneer continued, "The Nirvana Tree fragment is a priceless treasure, but I must remind everyone of two things. First, this fragment is what the consignor claims it to be; it hasn't been verified, and our auction house won't verify it for you, so there's risk in buying it. Second, even if it truly is a Nirvana Tree fragment, raising it and making it grow into a Nirvana Tree again is not something just anyone can do."

There was one more thing she didn't say out loud: if it were something ordinary people could do, the consignor wouldn't have put it up for auction.

Normally, an auction wouldn't cast doubt on the quality of its items, but there were simply too many cultivators eager for this Nirvana Tree fragment. If she didn't clarify, it might disrupt the entire event.

The auction hall remained quiet. At this point, none of those capable of bidding for the Nirvana Tree fragment hesitated in the slightest because of the auctioneer's warning. Any cultivator who'd reached this level was supremely confident.

Everyone seated in this grand auction hall was a peerless genius in their own right. Those who weren't geniuses had long since been washed away by the tides of time. All present were blessed by fortune and opportunity, and none believed themselves inferior. The consignor might have failed to cultivate the Nirvana Tree, but that didn't mean they couldn't succeed.

Once the hall was quiet, the auctioneer announced loudly, "This Nirvana Tree fragment has no starting price—everyone, place your bids!"

As soon as the auctioneer finished speaking, the bidding screen's numbers began to jump without pause. In just a dozen breaths, the leading bid had already surpassed five supreme spirit veins and one hundred million top-grade spirit crystals.

Everyone in the auction hall with the means to bid had red eyes, desperate to add all their wealth to the pot. But at this price, only a handful of top experts remained in the running.

"The price has reached twelve supreme spirit veins and five hundred million top-grade spirit crystals..." The auctioneer's voice trembled. In all the days of this auction, there hadn't been a single bidding war as fierce as this one.

At twelve supreme spirit veins, the number of bidders dwindled, and the price remained unchanged for some time.

"Twelve supreme spirit veins, five hundred million top-grade spirit crystals, going once..." The auctioneer had just announced the bid when the screen's price changed again.

Everyone stared at the new bid, momentarily stunned.

The new bid was just a single supreme spirit vein, not even any spirit crystals. In addition to the spirit vein, there was a pill called the Genesis Aurora Pill.

Just these two items alone surpassed the value of twelve supreme spirit veins and five hundred million top-grade spirit crystals, taking the lead in the bidding.

When this bid appeared, most people were stunned. The Genesis Aurora Pill—this was a pill that could help one advance to the Genesis Realm, and the chance of success was extremely high, even over fifty percent. For cultivators in urgent need, a single pill could be worth all their possessions.

That alone would be enough, but the key was that the cultivator offering the pill had marked it as a Special Grade Genesis Aurora Pill. If it truly was special grade, then as long as a Dao Origin cultivator had a solid foundation, it was almost guaranteed they'd break through to the Genesis Realm. No one could understand why someone would put such a thing up for auction.

For many experts who hadn't reached the Genesis Realm, the Genesis Aurora Pill was the true treasure.

This bid left the entire auction hall in a brief lull. Aside from the cultivators still longing for the Nirvana Tree fragment, most were searching for who had offered the Genesis Aurora Pill.

"Beiwei, are you crazy? You actually offered a Genesis Aurora Pill?" Tang Xitan's face turned pale as she looked at Tang Beiwei. She knew exactly where Tang Beiwei's Genesis Aurora Pill came from, but that source couldn't afford to put such a pill up for auction—it was a matter of life and death.

Even if Tang Beiwei only had this one Genesis Aurora Pill, things wouldn't end after the auction. Both she and Tang Beiwei were at the Genesis Realm, but two early Genesis cultivators were nothing special here.

Tang Beiwei's fists were clenched so tightly they turned white. Staring at the jade box, she murmured, "I must get this... I must..."
