You Are the Boss Lady, Why Compare Yourself to a Subordinate

Ian Song felt absolutely nothing for Wendy Jiang—not a trace of affection or pity. Right now, all he wanted was to possess her and make her reap what she sowed.

So, after prying open her teeth, his hands began to roughly tear at her clothes.

"Riiip!"

The sound of fabric ripping.

But as Ian tore off her clothes, Wendy suddenly snapped out of it, a wave of regret hitting her—she wondered if this was really worth it.

But Ian didn’t give her a chance to reconsider. He roughly pushed her onto the bed, quickly stripped off his own clothes, and pressed down on her.

"Mm! It hurts!"

Wendy cried out in pain, her delicate brows furrowing tightly.

Ian, who already had two women, froze for a moment. He had assumed that since Wendy seduced him, she wasn’t a virgin anymore.

But to his surprise, she really was untouched.

If she hadn’t been a virgin, he wouldn’t have felt any psychological burden—he’d just finish and leave without a second thought.

But since he’d taken her first time, he couldn’t be so heartless anymore. Still, he was a bit suspicious, so he stared at Wendy beneath him and asked, "This was your first time?"

Wendy was stunned for a moment, then realized what Ian meant. She suddenly shoved him off, shouting angrily, "Get out! I never want to see you again!"

She didn’t seem to be faking it, and Ian felt a bit awkward. "Sorry, I didn’t know it was your first time!"

"What, you just assumed I was that cheap? That I’d sleep with any guy?" Wendy glared at him coldly.

"That’s not what I meant. Don’t get me wrong!" Ian was at a loss for words.

"Get out! I don’t want to see you!" Wendy yanked up the blanket to wrap herself, then grabbed a pillow and threw it at Ian.

"Fine, I’m leaving!"

Ian quickly put his clothes back on and walked out of the room.

Back in his own room, Ian still felt the fire burning inside him. He took a cold shower, which helped a little.

Thinking about what had just happened, Ian couldn’t help but feel frustrated and speechless.

A thought struck him, so he picked up his phone and dialed General Chachai.

The next day, Ian checked out of the hotel and headed straight to the airport with Xiang Shan.

Wendy Jiang had also packed her bags and was ready to leave Jadeport City. Just as she stepped out of the hotel, her phone rang.

After what happened last night, Wendy was in a terrible mood. Seeing an unfamiliar number, she instinctively hung up.

But soon, her phone rang again—it was still the same number.

She took a deep breath and pressed the answer button.

"Hello, this is Wendy Jiang."

A deep voice came through: "Hello, Miss Jiang. I’m General Chachai. Do you have time to discuss cooperation?"

Wendy was stunned, her breathing suddenly quickening.

"Miss Jiang, are you there? If you’re free, I can send someone to pick you up."

Wendy finally snapped back to reality and replied excitedly, "I’m here, General Chachai! Just tell me the place—I’ll come on my own!"

"Alright, I’ll be waiting for you in Dandong Town!"

After hanging up, Wendy’s face was still glowing with excitement, but at that moment, Ian’s image flashed through her mind: "Could it be him?"

"President Jiang, are we still heading to the airport?" Grace Zhu asked tentatively.

"No, go to Dandong Town as fast as possible—General Chachai is waiting for us there!"

"President Jiang, do you mean General Chachai is willing to see us now?" Grace Zhu broke into a joyful smile.

"It’s not just a meeting—he wants to talk cooperation!"

Wendy was so happy she didn’t even try to keep it secret.

"That’s fantastic! Absolutely fantastic!" Grace Zhu was over the moon at the news.

………

Several hours later, Ian finally returned to Riverstone City.

He’d only been gone a week, but it felt much longer—because Riverstone City was where the people he cared about were.

Seeing Hannah Han again, Ian noticed her temperament had changed a bit—she now seemed a touch more capable and confident.

The jewelry store was fully renovated, and all the jade pieces had been carved into finished jewelry.

Thanks to Susan Su’s promotional efforts, nearly all of Riverstone City’s upper-class circles knew a high-end jade jewelry boutique would be opening soon.

When Susan Su heard that Ian—the hands-off boss—was back, she rushed over to report the progress so far.

Ian was very satisfied and gave Susan a few words of encouragement.

After Susan left, Ian beckoned to Hannah Han. "Hannah, how have you been these past few days?"

Hannah walked over and sat down with Ian. She thought for a moment and said, "I’ve been learning from Susan these past few days. It’s tiring, but I feel very fulfilled."

"Do you like this kind of life?" Ian reached out and wrapped his arm around her waist.

"Yeah, I do. It’s different from being a teacher." At this, a trace of worry appeared on Hannah’s face. "Ian, do you really want me to be the president of the store?"

"What’s wrong? You don’t want to?"

Hannah shook her head. "No, I’m just worried I won’t do well. After following Susan these days, I realized I don’t know a lot. She’s busy with both promotion and staff training, but I can’t really help with anything!"

Ian pondered for a moment and said, "Hannah, nobody’s born knowing everything. Take Susan Su—she wasn’t always this capable. She got there through years of experience. Honestly, I think you’re just as smart as Susan; what you lack is time and practice. I believe someday, not only will you match her—you’ll surpass her. Besides…"

Hannah was listening intently when Ian suddenly trailed off, making her ask instinctively, "Besides what?"

Ian grinned mischievously. "Besides, you’re the future boss lady. No matter how capable Susan is, she’s still just an employee. Why compare yourself to her?"

"Nonsense, I’m not the boss lady!" Hannah’s cheeks flushed, but her eyes sparkled with embarrassment and sweetness.

"So, do you want me to find another woman to be the boss lady?"

"Don’t you dare!" Hannah suddenly raised her voice.

Seeing her reaction, Ian couldn’t help but burst out laughing.

Hannah realized she’d fallen for Ian’s trick and playfully punched his chest. "You little rascal, you come back and immediately bully me!"

"Do you like being bullied by me?" Ian suddenly grabbed her hand, gently rubbing it between his palms. As he spoke, he leaned closer to her cheek.

"No way! Who would like being bullied by you?"

"Liar! See how I’ll teach you a lesson!"
