Quentin Hua's Sharp Tongue

12/2/2025

Quentin Hua suddenly waved his hand in front of Sylas Ren’s eyes, then turned to Wendy Hua, his face full of regret. “Miss Hua, from my examination just now, he’s not blind!” Seeing Wendy Hua rendered speechless with rage, Quentin Hua, as if afraid she didn’t understand, added, “So he definitely wouldn’t fancy you!”

"You... you..." This time, Wendy Hua was truly crying—driven to tears by Quentin Hua’s sharp words.

She was a pampered young lady, never having heard such harsh words before. Always convinced she was the most beautiful woman in Magnolia Town, she couldn’t believe Quentin Hua had belittled her so completely—and in front of the man she liked. The humiliation was unbearable.

Roxy Shangguan curled up in Quentin Hua’s arms, laughing nonstop. She loved seeing Quentin like this—who cared whom he teased? As long as he was happy, she didn’t want to see him feeling low.

Sylas Ren stifled his laughter again, feeling a sense of relief. At last, someone else had been driven half mad by Quentin. When Sylas first met Quentin Hua, he’d been insulted so badly he felt lower than a beggar. He’d been so furious, he nearly tried to kill him. He could endure most things, but Quentin had even mocked his looks—unforgivable!

But this guy’s skills were too deep—impossible to kill. That’s why he was still sitting there, perfectly fine!

Actually, Sylas had it coming. Back then, Quentin Hua had suddenly come to a realization and was eager to find his little beauty, but Sylas insisted on dragging him into a contest of looks. So really, it wasn’t Quentin’s fault!

After a long moment, Wendy Hua finally squeezed out a sentence: “Do you believe I’ll have my father throw you out?”

Roxy Shangguan looked at her in disdain. “Auntie, how old are you? Even I don’t go tattling to my parents!” (Not that I could, even if I wanted to!)

Suddenly, as if she’d thought of something, Roxy Shangguan’s face lit up with realization. “I get it now! Auntie, you must have a special fondness for that old man and desperately want to marry him. But Grandpa and Grandma don’t approve, so they brought Quentin to drive people away. You’re afraid your old man’s sweetheart will be scared off, so you want Quentin gone, right? Actually, it’s not that complicated. If you really like the old man, Quentin wouldn’t drive her away. In fact, if you said the word, he’d send you hundreds of them!”

Auntie? Grandpa and Grandma? Still in love with an old man? And you want him to send you hundreds of them?

Sylas Ren couldn’t hold back anymore, pounding the table and bursting into laughter. “Ha! It’s true—the Lotus Sect Master could easily find you hundreds of old men!”

Seeing Sylas Ren not only refuse to help her but also join that bastard and little brat in mocking her, Wendy Hua was so angry she started crying. Having always been doted on by her parents, she’d never been bullied like this. And this was the first time she’d liked a man—only for him to treat her so cruelly. Wendy felt both resentment and heartbreak.

Just then, Joyce Du arrived with her maid to visit Quentin Hua. Seeing Wendy Hua glaring tearfully at Quentin and Roxy Shangguan, Joyce’s eyes flashed as she asked, “Wendy, what’s wrong?”

“Joyce…” Hearing her voice, Wendy Hua suddenly turned and threw herself into Joyce’s arms, sobbing loudly.

Joyce Du frowned slightly but couldn’t bring herself to push Wendy away. She simply smiled apologetically at Quentin Hua, saying nothing.

Roxy Shangguan narrowed her eyes, a dangerous glint flashing within, but then she ignored them, glancing at the Eight Treasures Porridge on the table and then at Quentin Hua.

Quentin Hua reached out and pinched her cheek, then picked up the spoon to continue feeding her.

Seeing this, Joyce Du couldn’t help but give Roxy Shangguan another look. Still, she felt no hostility—after all, Roxy was just a child. Though Joyce sometimes wondered about Roxy’s relationship with Quentin Hua, she would never guess the truth, at most thinking Roxy was Quentin’s daughter!

Even if she felt uncomfortable, seeing how much Quentin Hua adored Roxy Shangguan, Joyce would never make an enemy of the girl. She was much smarter than Wendy Hua.

Quentin Hua doted on Roxy Shangguan so much that if she came to like someone, Quentin would surely treat that person differently as well.

After finally calming Wendy Hua down and watching her leave, Joyce Du looked at Quentin Hua with concern. “Cousin, I know Wendy’s temperament. She’ll probably say something to Uncle and Aunt, and then…” Joyce’s delicate brows furrowed, her worried expression tugging at the heartstrings of anyone watching.

In truth, Joyce Du was no less beautiful than Wendy Hua. Her gentle, fragile appearance inspired pity, but because the Du family was not as wealthy as the Hua family, Wendy naturally had more admirers.

Roxy Shangguan nodded seriously as she sipped her porridge. “It’s true, this is a bit troublesome.” She sighed, then looked at Quentin Hua. “Quentin, if it comes to it, should I help you kill your parents?”

"Pfft… cough, cough…" Sylas Ren, finally enjoying his breakfast, was unfortunately caught off guard and choked.

Roxy Shangguan just rolled her eyes at him, but inwardly she thought: There really isn’t a single decent person in the Hua family. Even if you don’t provoke them, they might not appreciate it. If the Hua family goes too far, she certainly wouldn’t swallow her anger. After all, someone had to pay for the suffering Quentin endured.

Whether Quentin cared or not, she would never let him kill his own parents. It was better for her to do it herself.

Quentin Hua had long known that Roxy Shangguan wasn’t an ordinary child. She was wiser and more perceptive than many adults. Seeing the look in her eyes, he could easily guess her thoughts. His heart warmed, and he gently kissed her forehead, smiling, “Alright.”

Looking up, he saw Joyce Du standing there stiffly, clearly shocked by such talk. He frowned, a bit displeased. “Miss Du, do you need something else?”

Noticing his obvious lack of welcome, Joyce Du felt a little disappointed and unhappy, though she didn’t show it. Sensibly, she said, “I just came to see if you’re settling in, Cousin. Since you’re fine, I’ll be going now.”

Her eyes lingered on Quentin Hua, clearly hoping he’d ask her to stay. But Quentin didn’t spare her another glance, focused only on feeding Roxy Shangguan.
