Secrets of the Reincarnation Wheel
"That depends on whether what you tell us is actually useful." Lily Bai said coldly, "If it's worthless, you'll still have to die."
Yan Cang gritted his teeth and said, "What about Liam Leshan—the one you've been searching for all this time? Is that valuable enough?"
Lily Bai exchanged a glance with Adrian Drake. "You mean Liam Leshan? You know where he is?"
"Actually, he was the one who helped me," Yan Cang said. "On my own, I never could've ambushed my brother! And I couldn't have activated the Yin–Yang Isolation Grand Array either. He did it all."
"Where is he now?" Lily Bai's gaze grew cold.
"I don't know," Yan Cang replied. "Even now, I have no idea why he helped me."
He put on a sincerely regretful expression and said, "Brother! I was just confused before. I thought being King Hades would be glorious. But after doing it for twenty years, I realized I was never fit for the job. I've been drowning in trouble. Brother, I swear I'll never do it again—please, just forgive me!"
Adrian Drake snapped, "Don't change the subject! Where is he now?"
"I really don't know! Twenty years ago he helped me seize the throne, and after that, I never saw him again!"
Lily Bai: "So you don't even know why he helped you?"
"Yeah! Usually, people want something in return for this kind of thing, right? But he didn't ask me for anything!" Yan Cang looked genuinely baffled.
"He never asked for anything at all?" Lily Bai sounded skeptical.
Yan Cang thought for a moment, then said, "Oh, right—he went to the Reincarnation Wheel! He said he wanted to be alone for a while, so I let him stay there. After that, I never saw him again."
"You reckless fool!" Ian Yan roared. "How could you just hand the Reincarnation Wheel over to someone else? One wrong move and the Three Realms could be thrown into chaos—don't you know that?"
Yan Cang hung his head. "He's Divine Race, not an Underworld cultivator. He couldn't even touch the Reincarnation Wheel."
"So you really haven't seen him since then?" Lily Bai seemed to catch onto something.
"That's right!"
"What about his mother, Jenna Stormscar? Have you ever met her?"
"I don't know her," Yan Cang replied.
Lily Bai frowned and said nothing.
"Let's go check out the Reincarnation Wheel!" Ian Yan suggested.
So the group headed over to the Reincarnation Wheel. Ian Yan carefully cast his spell and examined it, but found nothing amiss.
"Any soul can reincarnate through the Reincarnation Wheel, right?" Lily Bai asked.
"That's right!" Ian Yan replied.
"What about living souls?" (A living soul means a soul whose body hasn't died yet.)
Ian Yan's face changed. "If a living soul reincarnates, that's not called reincarnation—it's called possession!"
"So it's possible, then?" Lily Bai pressed.
"The Reincarnation Wheel can reincarnate any soul, living or dead," Ian Yan said. "But there's an ancient restriction on living souls. Only the King Hades line knows how to unlock it—no one else could possibly know."
"Can you tell if it's ever been unlocked before?" Lily Bai asked.
"Well..." Ian Yan hesitated. "I might need some time to restore my cultivation. Only then can I cast the spell."
Lily Bai nodded. "When we leave, I'll shut down the Yin–Yang Isolation Grand Array. Once you've recovered, come find us."
"Alright," Ian Yan nodded.
"We'll head out for now," Lily Bai said. "We've got something else to take care of."
