How Is It? Thrilling Enough

"What exactly is unsuitable?"

I don’t want to live in Drake Abyss—I love Peach Blossom Haven. I don’t like the Celestial Empress, but she’s your birth mother. I also don’t like your siblings, and my parents don’t want me to marry far away. So if I married you, our days would probably be a mess.

But it’s different with Divine Lord Soren Lann! If I marry him, all those headaches disappear! The key is, he loves me more than you do! He’d even give up his Divine Lord throne for me!

Sean Shaw frowned at her. "Lucia Lu, what’s really going on? No matter what it is, we can figure it out together!"

What could possibly be wrong with me? I’m telling you this because you’re about to rescue me from here. I owe you a favor. But I don’t want that favor to change my true feelings. So before you take me out, I’m telling you my choice.

Sean fell silent for a long time, then suddenly grabbed her arms. "Lucia Lu! What’s wrong with you!"

Lucia said seriously, "I mean it. Even if I don’t choose the Divine Lord, I still wouldn’t choose you!"

"Did Soren say something to you that night?" Sean asked, puzzled.

Lucia replied, "He did say some things to me. He made me see a lot more clearly. Sorry… I guess I let you down."

Sean slowly let go of her, as if doubting whether he’d actually rescued the real Lucia Lu, suspicion filling his eyes.

Lucia Lu asked him, "Are you still going to save me now? If you leave me here alone, I’d understand. But knowing you, I doubt you’d abandon me."

Sean stared at her for a long time, then angrily let her go, summoned the painting, and awkwardly opened it as if his hands were weighed down with lead. He said to the Fish, "Take us out!"

"You two?" the Fish asked. "I see you, but where’s the other one?"

Suddenly, the area brightened.

Sean looked up and saw Lucia standing outside the Execution Platform’s barrier.

All around, at least a dozen Genesis Bolts were gathering toward her.

Against the backdrop of world-shattering thunder, you could clearly see the blue at the corners of her lips, her slightly tousled hair—yet she was still breathtakingly beautiful.

Tears glimmered in her eyes as she softly mouthed four words: Forget me.

She had no choice.

Today was the fifteenth day—even if she escaped, she couldn’t remove the Beyond-Shore Sigil.

In the final moment, she saw Sean Shaw desperately trying to break through the barrier she’d just formed.

She had a Ward Charm in her storage pouch.

She left Sean and the Life-pouch containing the Moonlit Flood-Dragon cub inside the barrier.

In that moment, she wondered—if nothing had gone wrong, maybe she would’ve chosen Sean Shaw.

Maybe she would’ve sent Yunqi away, never letting them meet again…

Or maybe it was all just a misunderstanding?

Suddenly, everything went white.

She seemed to see the Moonlit Flood-Dragon cub somehow break free of the barrier, shrieking “Mama!” as it flew toward her…

Lily Bai opened her eyes. It took a long moment to realize she was in the Underworld.

Divine Lord Tanya Quinn brought her to the Nine-bend Nether River, saying she needed Lily’s help to fish for stars.

What she fished up turned out to be memories of her past life.

So she really was Lucia Lu.

She’d died so tragically… She wept until her face was soaked with tears.

“Well? Was it thrilling?” Divine Lord Tanya Quinn looked at her, half-smiling.
