Faye Gale fought with all her might to resist, but Elder Liu was simply too powerful. By the time the Palace Lord and others arrived, Faye was already seriously injured and now stood watched by Elder Liu and his men.
Seeing Elder Liu holding Faye, the Palace Lord and his group shouted angrily, "Elder Liu, release her now!"
"Palace Lord, why are you so angry? I'm just here to discuss something with you," Elder Liu said with a smile.
"If you have something to say, say it now," the Palace Lord snapped. At this moment, Faye was badly wounded, watched by several people, while Elder Liu stood at the front negotiating with the Palace Lord.
Evan Yang looked at Faye, anger rising in his heart, already preparing his next move.
"Our Liu Family has served Fiend Palace for many years. Maybe we haven't achieved much, but we've worked hard. And now, just because of my grandson, you want to wipe us out? Isn't that unreasonable?" Elder Liu said with a smile.
"I originally intended to punish only your grandson, but you led everyone into rebellion—how am I supposed to explain that?" the Palace Lord replied angrily.
"He is my grandson. Of course I don't want him to suffer. So, to resolve things, I propose a marriage—let Miss Faye marry my grandson. What do you think?" Elder Liu said, smiling.
"You have some nerve!" the Palace Lord snapped.
"To be honest, she's already been poisoned with Ten-Day Scourge Powder. If she doesn't take the antidote within ten days, you know what will happen," Elder Liu said with a smile.
The Palace Lord was stunned, his face paling. Ten-Day Scourge Powder meant total control by the enemy—unless there was an antidote, Faye would be at Elder Liu's mercy.
Seeing the Palace Lord's shaken expression, Elder Liu sneered, "So? What do you say?" Faye watched, realizing that if this continued, the Palace Lord would be completely constrained by Elder Liu's bluff. Otherwise, with his true strength, taking down Elder Liu would be no problem.
"You!" The Palace Lord roared, his fury barely contained. To break the deadlock, Faye blurted out desperately, "I'm not poisoned!"
Just then, Evan Yang sprang into action. His speed was astonishing—he darted straight past Elder Liu. Elder Liu hadn't even considered Evan a threat, thinking him too weak, but by the time he realized what was happening, it was already too late.
Evan slipped past Elder Liu, and the guards didn't react in time. He ambushed them from behind, seriously injuring each one. "Are you alright?" he asked, rushing to Faye's side. It was obvious now—Faye had only pretended to be poisoned to lure Elder Liu into a trap. The Palace Lord, overjoyed, immediately summoned the Immortal Spirit Cauldron and smashed it forward. Elder Liu, startled, produced a Spirit-Chime Bell, which instantly expanded into a man-sized shell, dropping over him.
"You finally exposed yourself," Faye said, smiling despite her wounds after witnessing Evan's explosive power. The Palace Lord was shocked. "No, he's escaped!"
"If I hadn't, you'd be in even bigger trouble," Evan sighed, seeing Faye covered in injuries. Faye was also stunned, unsure what the bell artifact was. Evan didn't know either, but seeing the Palace Lord so tense, he helped Faye up and hurried after him.
Elder Liu tried to make a move, but the Palace Lord blocked him. The four First-Class Generals tangled with the other enemies, leaving only Evan and Faye at the side. When they reached the cave entrance, the Palace Lord saw a new scene unfold before him.
"Palace Lord, think carefully. She's been poisoned with Ten-Day Scourge Powder!" Elder Liu shouted angrily. Phantom Elder and Elder Liu were fighting fiercely. "Why is he here?" the Palace Lord wondered aloud.
"Hmph, if you don't hand over the antidote, I'll throw you into Fiend Abyss!" the Palace Lord said coldly. Evan was secretly pleased. Elder Liu was frustrated—how did Phantom Elder know he was here, and why show up just as he and the Palace Lord fell out? Before, with the Palace Lord's help, Elder Liu could restrain Phantom Elder, but now, having just escaped the Lord, he faced new trouble.
"Then you can forget about curing her," Elder Liu said forcefully, leaving the Palace Lord flushed with anger.
Faye saw this and realized that if things went on like this, the Palace Lord would be constrained. Otherwise, with his ability, taking down Elder Liu would be no problem.
To make the Palace Lord understand, Faye blurted out in desperation, "I'm not poisoned."
Both Elder Liu and the Palace Lord were shocked. Faye continued, "I only pretended to be poisoned to trap Elder Liu."
It was obvious now—Faye had come to trap Elder Liu. Hearing this, the Palace Lord was overjoyed, took out the Immortal Spirit Cauldron, and smashed it forward. Elder Liu was startled and produced a bell, which instantly expanded into a man-sized shell, covering himself.
The Palace Lord was shocked. "No, he's escaped!"
Faye was also shocked, unsure what the bell was. Evan didn't know either, but seeing the Palace Lord so tense, Evan helped Faye up and hurried after him.
When they reached the cave entrance, the Palace Lord saw a new scene before him.
Phantom Elder and Elder Liu were fighting fiercely. "Why is he here?" the Palace Lord wondered aloud.
Evan was secretly pleased. Elder Liu was frustrated—how did Phantom Elder know he was here, and why did he show up just as Elder Liu and the Palace Lord fell out? Before, with the Palace Lord's help, he could restrain Phantom Elder, but now, having just escaped the Palace Lord, he faced new trouble.
"Palace Lord, aren't you going to help?" Evan asked curiously.
"I wanted to, but Phantom Elder wouldn't let me," the Palace Lord replied.
"Oh." Evan understood. So Phantom Elder wanted to deal with Elder Liu himself.
"Phantom Elder, why do this? Give me a way out and you'll benefit," Elder Liu sent a transmission, hoping Phantom Elder would show mercy.
But Phantom Elder snorted coldly, "I've waited so many years just to wipe out your Liu Family."
"You!" Elder Liu shouted angrily.
"Fight. This is a battle between the two of us," Phantom Elder continued.
Elder Liu, both shocked and furious, had no choice but to fight. Eventually, Phantom Elder repeatedly injured him.
"You..." Elder Liu, dragging his wounded body, pointed at Phantom Elder.
"Die!" Phantom Elder struck with his palm again.
"Even if I die, I won't let you go," Elder Liu shouted in rage.
Suddenly, a powerful force erupted from Elder Liu, as if he were burning himself. Everyone was shocked and quickly dodged. A blinding light and explosion followed, leaving not even ashes behind.
"Dead?" the Palace Lord exclaimed, seeing Elder Liu's aura vanish.
Phantom Elder hadn't expected Elder Liu to resort to such measures.
The Palace Lord was about to speak to Phantom Elder about past misunderstandings, but Phantom Elder snorted and walked away.
The Palace Lord was left awkward, sighing, "I shouldn't have listened to Elder Liu back then."
"Forget it, let's not bother with them," Faye replied.
The Palace Lord nodded, then summoned his four First-Class Generals. As for the people in the cave, they'd already been cleared out.
But there was bad news—they hadn't seen Mason Liu or several other young Liu Family members.
"Where did they go?" the Palace Lord asked Faye, since she'd been in the cave the whole time.
Faye shook her head. "I don't know."
If they're not dead, they'll be endless trouble," the Palace Lord sighed.
So now what?" Faye frowned.
Let's go back," the Palace Lord sighed.
As Faye and the others were about to leave, Evan spoke up: "I still have something to do. You go ahead."
What are you going to do?" Faye asked curiously.
I want to look around some more," Evan said with a smile.
No way, it's too dangerous here. If any enemies survived, you'd be in trouble," Faye objected.
Don't worry, the Palace Lord already cleared everything," Evan smiled at Faye.
The Palace Lord nodded. "It's been cleared."
But..." Faye would have followed Evan if she weren't badly injured. However, Evan left everyone behind and returned to the cave.
The reason Evan hadn't left was that he discovered something—Soul-Reaping Water had told him Elder Liu didn't seem to be dead. It was only a guess.
Are you sure a soul just entered?" Evan asked curiously.
Yes," Soul-Reaping Water replied, sensing it.
Evan nodded and followed Soul-Reaping Water's guidance, slowly heading deeper. All around were dead bodies—tragic scenes.
Sigh, massacre," Evan said helplessly as he saw the bodies.
Helpless, Evan kept moving forward. He stopped at a small cave, since there was no path ahead.
Strange, there's no path. Are you sure it's inside?" Evan asked curiously.
Soul-Reaping Water confirmed it.
Evan frowned. "There's no path?"
It's right behind this wall," Soul-Reaping Water assured him.
Evan nodded, feeling around and testing the wall. When he realized there might be a passage, he unleashed a powerful punch. With a loud crash, the wall broke open, revealing a path ahead.
Sure enough," Evan said, surprised.
Evan continued forward and finally saw someone—Mason Liu, protected by something. Beside him was a soul.
The soul saw Evan and shouted, "Kid, how dare you trick me!"
So what if I did?" Evan knew the opponent was just a soul, so he smiled.
You! How hateful," the soul—Elder Liu—glared at Evan.
Evan ignored him and laughed. "The real villains are you two—one is lustful, the other tyrannical."
You!" Elder Liu shouted angrily.
Do you think you can still subdue me?" Evan smiled.
Kid, don't be arrogant. One day, I'll make you suffer worse than death," Elder Liu threatened.
You'd better worry about yourself," Evan sneered.
Don't think I'm really dead. Clearly you don't understand. Today, I'll show you," Elder Liu snorted.
With that, the soul entered Mason Liu's body. Evan was shocked—he didn't expect Elder Liu to possess his own grandson.
But what happened next surprised Evan even more. Mason Liu sneered, "You think I'm possessing my grandson? Wrong, I'm just borrowing his body."
Evan hadn't realized a soul could borrow a body. Mason Liu's power surged, quickly overwhelming Evan.
Evan was shocked—he hadn't expected Elder Liu's undying soul to have this ability.
Now it's too late for regrets. I told you before, I wouldn't let you go. Now that I've fused successfully, it's your death—no one will know," Mason Liu laughed wildly.
Mason Liu then attacked Evan. Luckily, having just entered, he wasn't very strong yet, but was clearly getting stronger. Evan knew if this continued, he'd be in trouble, so Soul-Reaping Water appeared.
At that moment, Soul-Reaping Water transformed into a water sword.
Seeing the water sword, Mason Liu sneered, "You think water can kill me? Dream on!"
But what happened next shocked Mason Liu. When the water touched him, Elder Liu's soul inside screamed, "Damn it, this water is dangerous!"
Grandpa!" Mason Liu cried out, shocked.
Evan listened to them speak, feeling like two people were sharing one body.
Quick, run!" Elder Liu shouted angrily.
Mason Liu dashed away, leaving Evan behind. He moved so fast Evan couldn't catch up.
Damn, he got away," Evan said, frustrated. This was like letting a tiger escape—if Elder Liu returned, it would be trouble. Evan had Soul-Reaping Water, but others didn't.
Evan, feeling helpless, quickly left the cave, but found no trace outside.
He escaped!" Evan snorted.
Faced with such trouble, Evan quickly contacted Phantom Elder. When Phantom Elder heard Elder Liu wasn't dead, he was shocked and furious.
Evan also told Phantom Elder about Elder Liu entering Mason Liu's body.
