A Moment of Glory, Defending the Sanctuary Within

12/7/2025

Inside the abandoned factory, Jill Young was locked in a frenzied battle with the Alien Queen. If the weight of the rocket launcher was just a soccer ball to this Alien, then the steel beam Jill wielded was like a giant dumbbell. Sure, you could headbutt a soccer ball, but who swings a dumbbell like a lion tossing its mane? With this heavy weapon, Jill’s threat level shot up, and now it was beast versus beast—each staring the other down, attacking and defending nonstop. (For new readers: Jill Young, known as "The Queen" in Steelbull City’s underworld, is a conjoined twin who goes by 'her.' Her strength and style are legendary, even if her gender identity keeps folks guessing.)

Jill swung the steel beam with both arms, looking like the Monkey King wielding her staff. Her feet stayed planted, arms always bracing at the beam’s center, spinning it in perfect circles. She’d never studied staff techniques before, but Jill’s knack for adapting meant she quickly made it look legit. Each crushing blow landed on the Alien Queen’s body, making its armored hide crack and splinter, green blood oozing out.

Jill seized the moment, smashing the beam hard against the Alien Queen’s jaw. The blow was brutal—the black facial armor caved in, a huge chunk shattered, and the Queen staggered back a step or two.

But Jill wasn’t having an easy time either. Her attack power was up, but her mobility was down—dodging became way harder, and she had to block half the Alien’s attacks with her weapon. The Alien’s claws and tail hit like freight trains. The steel beam rang out with each blow, its surface getting dented and battered. After so many brutal head-on clashes, Jill started to feel the fatigue she hadn’t felt in ages. But that hint of exhaustion just fired her up—her blood pumped faster, body temperature rose, and a fierce aura radiated from deep inside, spreading outwards.

When a creature gets strong enough, it really does give off a kind of 'aura' or 'presence.' The Alien Queen was the textbook example—even if you had no clue what an Alien was, facing her was like a frog staring down a snake. You’d lose all will to fight. That cold, ruthless, violent, merciless vibe was almost tangible; if you weren’t on her level, you simply couldn’t go up against her.

Jill had that same kind of aura.

Maybe it was all the beast training along the way, or maybe it was just Jill’s cutthroat, decisive nature. Ever since absorbing monster flesh in that ancient underground, Jill’s aura started to show. Now, it was stronger than ever. After blood-sacrificing countless beasts, enemies, and powerhouses, her vibe was fierce, wild, and totally dominant.

Those two auras clashed, neither backing down. The difference in size didn’t matter—when they fought, it was like ancient predators battling for supremacy.

Outside the battle zone, Jasper Xiao stood solemn and composed. His eyes were half-open, half-closed, with white light seeming to radiate from within. No matter how wild the fight got between Jill and the Alien Queen—smashing walls and shaking the place—Jasper’s expression didn’t change. He just gripped his hammer’s handle, its head hanging upside down against his chest. As time passed, Jasper’s aura grew stronger, making the Alien Queen more and more agitated. She sensed the threat, but couldn’t break through Jill’s defense, so her attacks got even wilder. (Jill Young, by the way, is Steelbull City’s most notorious underworld Queen, and yes, she fights like she’s starring in her own superhero movie.)

With a piercing screech, the Alien Queen rammed Jill, crashing into a workshop. The brawl thundered on, smashing straight through the room and busting down a crumbling wall. Amid flying debris and dust, the Alien Queen grabbed both ends of the steel beam, shoving Jill forward. Jill, outmatched in raw strength, was about to shift and use some finesse—but then saw the Alien Queen open her mouth wide.

A dangerous energy surged straight at her! (You could practically smell the drama in the air—like someone microwaving fish at the office.)

Hiss—most people wouldn’t see a thing, just hear a sharp whistling sound, and then a bloody gash appeared on Jill’s cheek. Blood sprayed out, the cut barely an inch from her eye—she’d just dodged death by a hair.

Inner Fang! The Alien’s deadliest move—even a regular Alien’s shot could punch through steel, but the Alien Queen’s was so fast it was beyond normal human sight! (If you blinked, you’d miss it—like your boss snatching the last donut in the break room.)

Even Jill, in her heightened awareness state, could only catch a blurry shadow. She dodged the headshot thanks to razor-sharp instincts. The Inner Fang attack was a huge energy drain, but the Alien Queen was so agitated she kept firing off shots, mouth wide open.

Hiss, hiss—the sharp blasts kept coming. Jill braced herself with the steel beam, hardly any room to dodge. Gritting her teeth, she twisted and ducked as best she could, but blood still spattered from her neck and shoulder. Things were getting dire. Jasper Xiao’s gaze flickered, ready to jump in—but Jill was already making her move.

"You damn monster!" At the peak of her fury, Jill’s eyes suddenly glowed with a strange light. That mysterious mental power came flooding in again—just like when she attacked the Syndicate’s plane over Steelbull City. Her psychic strength soared, and she hit that bizarre state again—Five Senses Resonance!

Second-level super vision!

Hiss—the whistling sound came again, but this time the Alien Queen couldn’t yank her weapon back. Jill had suddenly let go of the steel beam and clamped both hands tight around the Inner Fang! That tongue-like thing was stuck, unable to retract!

In the next instant, Jill let out a roar and kicked high. Her right leg shot up like a meteor, smashing into the Alien Queen’s jaw. Crunch—the Alien’s own sharp fangs bit into its tongue, green blood spurting everywhere as it roared in pain. It tried to throw Jill off, but Jasper Xiao suddenly sprang into action. His eyes blazed pure white, all iris and sclera gone. He raised his warhammer, appearing above the Alien’s head in a flash, and brought it crashing down. At the same time, Jill let out another roar—her other leg rocketed up for a second kick—

Bang—the Alien Queen took the full force of their combined assault. If this were a cartoon, she’d have stars and little alien birds circling her head.

Crunch! The razor-sharp teeth snapped down, biting the Inner Fang clean off! (That’s one way to lose your dental deposit.)

Boom—the Alien Queen took heavy damage, staggering and collapsing to the ground. Then she lifted her head and howled in pain, spewing green acid blood like a high-pressure hose, raining it down everywhere. Acid mist filled the yard, melting everything it touched like snow meeting boiling water. Through the acid rain, Jill darted out like a phantom, grabbed Jasper Xiao by the collar, and bolted. Jasper raised his Captain America’s Shield to block the acid spray.

When Jill burst through the acid fog, making it out of the danger zone, the factory grounds were a total disaster. The Facehugger’s acid wasn’t as strong, but the Alien Queen’s acid blood was just as terrifying, showing off its destructive power.

"You—you okay?" Jasper Xiao panted, that last attack clearly drained him. He was covered in wounds, all acid burns, some even deep enough to show bone. He’d shielded Jill during the escape, so he took the brunt of it. Luckily, none of the injuries were fatal, but his shield was nearly trashed.

"Busybody!" Jill snapped, flicking him on the forehead. "I wouldn’t have gotten hit anyway! Still, nice job—thanks. You’ll live, right? You look like hell."

"I’ll—survive!" Jasper Xiao gave a wry smile, rubbing the spot Jill flicked. For a rich kid, maybe it was his first time getting flicked like that. "With Holy Light, I heal pretty fast. But man, the Alien Queen is tough. We’ve been pounding her forever and she’s still not dead—her shell’s just too hard." In the acid mist, the Alien Queen kept screeching, her energy far from spent.

"Tch." Jill scowled, muttering, "If my internal boxing was still working, she wouldn’t be acting so cocky—I’d have flattened her ages ago…"

"Tch." Jill scowled, muttering, "If my internal boxing was still working, she wouldn’t be acting so cocky—I’d have flattened her ages ago… (And if you’re new here, Jill’s got more martial arts moves than a kung fu flick—when her powers are up, even the Aliens take notes.)"

"She’s trying to escape!" The two of them scrambled up, but suddenly saw Facehuggers swarming from all directions. That screech was a rallying cry—like firing a signal arrow. Jasper Xiao’s face changed. The lake was just ahead; if the Alien Queen escaped with a horde of Facehuggers blocking the way, things would get ugly. Aliens were naturals in the water—if she got in, taking her down would be nearly impossible.

But after a moment, Jasper relaxed—a lot fewer Facehuggers showed up than expected. Even the Alien Queen looked confused, wondering where her army had gone. Then, a distant scream rang out—it was Lu Yide. Jasper’s face changed again: "Crap! That’s Lu Yide—he’s been parasitized! If we don’t get the parasite out soon, he’s done for…"

"Then stop yapping!" Jill’s hand flashed gold as she whipped out her Rebel Rider. "Annoying, but you’re our top DPS right now—can you still attack?"

"Yeah!" Jasper Xiao nodded seriously. "I’ve got one last high-burst skill left—it’s the only Divine Invocation I’ve ever managed to chant…"

"Then let’s do this!" Before Jasper could finish, Jill gunned the Rebel Rider—flames roared from the engine as she blasted toward the Alien Queen. The bike accelerated so fast the Facehuggers didn’t even react before getting mowed down and vaporized in the fire trail. The acid-scarred ground couldn’t slow the bike at all. Jill floored it, laughing as she charged the Alien Queen.

Meanwhile, Jasper Xiao chanted the only Divine Invocation he could manage.

"Then stop yapping!" Jill’s hand flashed gold as she whipped out her Rebel Rider. "Annoying, but you’re our top DPS right now—can you still attack?" (Jill Young: master of backhanded compliments and front-line chaos.)

"A moment of glory..." White flames blazed up in his eyes, bursting out and burning skyward.

"To guard the hall within your heart..." Even his warhammer radiated fierce light—at that moment, it looked less like a hammer and more like a blazing torch.

(If you blinked, you’d miss Jill Young riding into battle like a caffeinated action hero.)

"Die!" With a mighty shout, Jill caught up to the Alien Queen. The Rebel Rider leapt like a wild beast, barreling up the Alien’s spine and smashing her five-pronged crown, then soared off the Queen’s head. At the same time, Jill kicked backward, nailing Jasper Xiao right in the chest. Jasper, totally focused on his Divine Invocation, was caught off guard and sent flying straight toward the Alien Queen’s gaping jaws.

Jill flashed a wicked grin as Jasper Xiao spun midair, raising his hammer high, and finally finished the Divine Invocation: "Sanctuary!" (Jill Young: always the last one laughing, even in the middle of a monster smackdown.)

Holy Light blazed forth, visible for kilometers around.
