The twin brothers glanced at Evan Yang. One of them asked, "Big brother, what is his strength?"
"Eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal," said the man in white.
"Big brother, are you serious? An eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal, and you want us two ninth-tier Xuan-Immortals to deal with him? If word gets out, we'll be embarrassed," the questioning brother said, frustrated.
"What, looking down on him? Let me tell you, he managed to defeat a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal as an eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal, so figure it out yourselves," the man in white said with a smile.
The two brothers were stunned for a moment, then one asked Evan Yang, "Is that true?"
"Is there any need to answer you?" Evan Yang replied with a smile.
"Arrogant! If you really defeated a ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal as an eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal, then we won't look down on you. We're brothers, and today we'll see if you're really that strong," one of them snorted coldly.
The two brothers were furious. No Heavenly-Immortal had ever dared defy them like this. Evan Yang, for his part, showed no fear. Even together, their combined strength might not match Marcus Hale's.
Back then, Marcus Hale had dual attributes and was a peak ninth-tier Xuan-Immortal, while these two were far less impressive. As for the man in white, he never expected Evan Yang would actually teach these brothers a lesson.
The two brothers immediately tried to suppress Evan Yang with their aura, but Evan just smiled and met their pressure head-on. Everyone watched as an eighth-tier Heavenly-Immortal faced off against two ninth-tier Xuan-Immortals.
"This kid really is that capable," thought the man in white, seeing Evan Yang resist the two brothers' attack. He was secretly glad he'd sent both to deal with Evan, or he might have suffered a loss.
The two brothers were startled by Evan Yang's methods. No matter how much aura they used, Evan could always resist.
In fact, it felt almost like Evan was pushing back at them—the more force they used, the stronger his aura became. Gradually, they started feeling powerless, as if Evan's aura was about to overwhelm theirs.
"Boss, what do we do now?" one brother sent a message to the other.
"This kid is too weird. I'll suppress his aura, you see if you can sneak attack him," one brother replied.
The other nodded, so one continued to suppress Evan Yang while the other suddenly withdrew and launched a blast of flame straight at him.
"Using fire?" Evan Yang sneered. His Sacred Flame was extremely powerful now—this opponent's fire was no threat at all.
With a single thought, Evan summoned his Sacred Flame, which instantly devoured the opponent's fire. The effect wasn't dramatic, but it was enough to snuff out the attack.
Everyone was stunned. Evan Yang had easily neutralized the other's fire attribute attack.
"Boss, what now?" the brother who'd used fire asked, frustrated.
"You suppress him for a bit. Since he's using fire, I can counter him!" the one called boss replied with a secret smile.
The younger brother nodded, took over suppressing Evan Yang, and then sent a blast of water straight at him.
"Again?" Evan Yang grinned. He unleashed his flame, instantly vaporizing the water. A cloud of boiling mist engulfed all three fighters.
Evan Yang smiled, taking the chance to set a trap under their feet. The spot where they stood suddenly collapsed into deep pits, startling both brothers. At that moment, Evan broke through their defenses one by one, burning them badly with his Sacred Flame.
The two brothers ran around wildly, trying to escape the flames. Evan Yang laughed, "Looks like I win."
The man in white was stunned, still finding it hard to believe Evan Yang had actually taught the two brothers a lesson—and left them covered in wounds.
The brothers finally realized Evan Yang's flame was no ordinary fire—it felt like it was burning their souls. Now, they watched Evan with fear and dread.
The man in white knew Evan Yang had won, but refused to accept it. "You may have won this time, but next time won't be so easy. If you've got guts, meet me at Emerald Cloud Star in five days!"
"Why go there? Do you really think I'll walk right into your trap?" Evan Yang sneered.
"I know you won't go, but there's something on Emerald Cloud Star you'll want to know about," Leon Li snorted.
Leon Li left angrily with his group. "Emerald Cloud Star? What's that got to do with me? They really think I'll show up? Ridiculous," Evan Yang shook his head.
Meanwhile, Hannah Nangong had been waiting anxiously at the Chu residence. When Evan Yang appeared, she was overjoyed. "How did it go?"
"I taught two ninth-tier Xuan-Immortals a lesson," Evan Yang replied.
"Did they react at all?" Hannah asked, surprised and suspicious.
"They did, but it was a strange reaction," Evan Yang said, still thinking about what Leon Li had said.
"What's so strange about it?" Hannah asked curiously.
"He mentioned Emerald Cloud Star and said I'd definitely go there. It's not like he's some fortune teller," Evan Yang said, having no clue what Emerald Cloud Star was or why it mattered to him.
Just then, Victor Chu walked out of the main hall. "Are you talking about Emerald Cloud Star?" he asked.
"Yeah, we were just talking about it. What's up?" Evan Yang asked, curious.
"It's the gathering place for our great faction. You can buy and sell almost anything there, and it's always lively. You might even run into some powerful experts," Victor Chu explained.
Evan Yang was puzzled. "That's odd. The Li Family just said I'd have to go to Emerald Cloud Star in five days. Why? It's not like they know I'll show up."
"Five days? Oh, I almost forgot!" Victor Chu exclaimed.
"What's up?" Evan Yang could sense something was going on.
"In five days, all the young talents from our faction's families will gather for the World Grand Tournament," Victor Chu said.
"World Grand Tournament? What's that supposed to mean?" Evan Yang asked, feeling a bit weirded out.
"Every hundred years, before the Territory War Contest, our faction hosts this tournament. It's a chance for the next generation to show their skills—if they impress the big powers, they might get recruited and slowly become disciples of the major clans. Every family dreams of sending their kids there," Victor Chu explained.
"Oh? That's interesting, but I don't get why the Li Family told me all this," Evan Yang said, confused.
"There's another reason for it," Victor Chu replied.
"Another reason? What reason?" Evan Yang asked suspiciously.
"Although the tournament lets people join the great factions, to be precise, it's also about sending people to some remote clans and sects—ancient ones. Now you understand?" Victor Chu explained.
"So you mean the Li Family knows I'm searching for an ancient teleportation array? They're using this to lure me in? But I'm not part of their faction, so even if they say it, I might not be able to go," Evan Yang said, suspicious.
"That's what he meant. I never thought anyone in the Chu Family could qualify for such an opportunity, but now that Chase Chu is improving, I want him to go and carve out his own world," Victor Chu said.
"So that's why he told me to go in five days. Looks like Chase Chu is the main reason, and he probably expects I'll show up too," Evan Yang said.
"Exactly. But what I don't get is, the Li Family is just a participant in the World Grand Tournament—why do they insist you go? Are they planning something there?" Victor Chu wondered aloud.
"Don't worry, they'll just send someone to challenge me—they won't make a move themselves," Evan Yang said with a smile.
"Is that so? Let's hope so. The Li Family isn't exactly good people," Victor Chu replied.
"So you've decided to let Chase Chu participate?" Evan Yang asked.
"I didn't really care at first, since I never considered Chase Chu. But his progress lately gives me hope. He can't stay in the clan forever—only by venturing out can he grow stronger," Victor Chu said.
"You're right. If Chase Chu wants to get stronger, he has to go out and face challenges," Evan Yang agreed.
"Exactly. So in five days, let's go together. If anything comes up that needs the Chu Family's help, we'll support you," Victor Chu said.
Evan Yang was intrigued by the ancient sects and clans, so he asked, "Will there really be people from those ancient sects and clans at the tournament?"
"Yes, they're always there. This time won't be any different. Many ancient clans and sects, though far away, want to establish teleportation arrays on certain planets. These arrays need protection, and the protectors are credited by the great factions. So the ten main factions on Flowcloud Star all have connections to ancient clans and sects, but I don't know the specifics," Victor Chu explained.
Evan Yang nodded, recalling what the Fiend Palace Lord had said about ancient clans offering help.
So Evan Yang asked curiously, "What about those other planets—the blue ones? Can their clans invite outsiders for the Territory War Contest too?"
"Yes, I've heard they can. As long as the person they invite wins, it doesn't matter who they are," Victor Chu replied.
"That'll take about a hundred years, right?" Evan Yang muttered.
"Right. When the time comes, you'll see—the spectacle will be the biggest battle in the Immortal Realm, second only to the Immortal-Devil War," Victor Chu said, smiling.
"Immortal-Devil War?" Evan Yang found the name a little strange.
"What's wrong? Haven't you heard of it? Once the Immortal-Devil Gate opens, it's the start of a war between the two realms," Victor Chu explained.
"Immortal-Devil Gate?" The more Evan Yang listened, the more bizarre it sounded.
"Looks like you really don't know. Let me explain. The Immortal Realm is just one huge world, and there are several others on the same level—Devil Realm, Demon-Beast Realm, Death Realm, and some unknown places. Each realm has its own culture and cultivation methods, so friction builds up over time, and eventually, war is inevitable. There are Realm Gates between worlds—once the seal is broken, people can travel freely, and that's when a new Immortal-Devil War begins," Victor Chu explained.
"I've heard of those realms, but I didn't know they'd go to war," Evan Yang said, still doubtful.
"Every realm has its own customs, so friction is bound to happen. When the Realm Gates open, everyone can travel freely—that's when the wars start," Victor Chu explained.
