Sense of Proportion

"Who are you!"

Kevin Qin's expression turned cold, his eyes filled with vigilance as he stared at the boy's back before him.

He clearly couldn't sense any inner qi fluctuation from the boy, but judging by the way he just appeared, there's no way this kid is ordinary!

Everyone in Moonshade was now watching the front with heightened alertness, ready to act at any moment.

Evan Lin?

Yvette Ye looked over and suddenly called out.

"You know him?" Kevin Qin frowned at Yvette Ye upon hearing this.

This kid... this kid is the one who came with us.

Harvey Li's mind went numb. Before Yvette Ye could speak, he forced the words out in a stiff tone.

Even though Evan Lin was facing away from them, Harvey Li quickly recognized him by his silhouette and clothing.

With the pillar three times as hard, he flattened it with a single step—a single instant stomp!

How terrifying must his strength be?

Is this guy... could he really be our new member?

What did this kid eat growing up? Am I seeing things or dreaming?

Moonshade was filled with whispered discussions.

Originally, they were full of hostility and disdain toward Evan Lin, whom they'd never met.

But now, in this instant, not a trace of contempt remained.

Strength. Strength rules all!

From the very first moment, Evan Lin showed his strength in the cleanest, most decisive way!

How... how could he be so strong? That can't be right.

Jenna Jiang stared at the scene before her, murmuring to herself, her mind buzzing.

Kevin Qin paused, watching Yvette Ye run toward the boy. At that moment, the boy finally turned around.

A clean, pure face of a young man.

That was everyone's first impression.

Compared to before, Evan Lin no longer looked frail; his face now carried a hint of determination.

Yet that indifferent attitude toward everything still lingered on his face.

Just a bit late.

Evan Lin nodded at Yvette Ye as she approached, greeting her.

Where's your parachute?

As she got closer and saw Evan Lin safe and sound, Yvette Ye breathed a sigh of relief, then suddenly thought of the question.

Just now, she hadn't seen Evan Lin's parachute at all.

Earlier, Yvette Ye thought Evan Lin had left with the helicopter.

I can't parachute, so I didn't bother.

Evan Lin shook his head, speaking in a casual tone.

You jumped straight down from ten thousand meters?

Yvette Ye was startled by his words.

Ordinary helicopters can't reach ten thousand meters, but that Black Hawk had been heavily modified for special missions.

The parachute packs on board weren't something you could easily shed.

So Evan Lin couldn't have dropped the parachute midair—he must've never used it at all!

Yeah.

Evan Lin nodded, leaving Yvette Ye momentarily speechless.

She didn't know what to say.

This kid was even stronger than Lin Beixun from the prestigious Lin family, but even Lin Beixun wouldn't dare jump from ten thousand meters.

Not only did he jump, he stomped the stone pillar flat in one step.

The defensive array on that pillar was no joke.

Anyone else would have been smashed to pieces on impact—no hope of survival!

You... you mustn't take risks like this again.

Yvette Ye took a deep breath, her face serious. "It's too dangerous!"

I know what I'm doing." Evan Lin shook his head, his reply leaving Yvette Ye annoyed, as if her concern was wasted.

The Moonshade crowd watched them.

Seeing Yvette Ye and the newcomer chatting endlessly, clearly concerned, the crowd shifted their gaze to Kevin Qin at the front.

Everyone was momentarily speechless.

They could sense the powerful, angry, and hesitant aura radiating from Kevin Qin.

Finally, Kevin Qin strode forward, heading toward the boy.

Jenna Jiang and the others quickly followed.

Are you our new member?

Kevin Qin stopped a meter from Evan Lin, staring him down and sizing him up.

Yvette Ye instinctively stepped in front of Evan Lin, frowning at Kevin Qin.

She worried Kevin Qin might start a fight with Evan Lin at any moment.

She was also concerned that Evan Lin, having just jumped from ten thousand meters, might have hurt his foot even if he looked fine.

All the impact landed on his feet when he jumped, and Yvette Ye knew that with Evan Lin's personality, even if his feet hurt, he'd never admit it.

That's me.

Evan Lin pulled Yvette Ye aside, facing Kevin Qin directly and nodding.

Kevin Qin's pupils contracted sharply, and the Moonshade crowd behind him was shocked.

In Moonshade, only girls could have any physical contact with Yvette Ye. If any guy dared touch her—even just her sleeve—Kevin Qin would never tolerate it.

But this kid just pulled Yvette Ye's arm right in front of Kevin Qin!
